In the Dark of Morning…

Doesn’t that sound like a great opening for a scene? I’ve been messing with trying to capture a picture of lights that mysteriously illuminate trees to one side of a home. My problem is I can’t tell when the lens is focused. It’s too dark for me to see. But I thought these were interesting anyway.

Only in reality, they are much more clear! 🙂 <3

And here is a roadrunner at the pizza place where I had lunch yesterday. No camera, just my phone. And I saw those interesting birds that I have no idea what they are when I was near home. Some kind of water bird with black heads, really long snake-like necks, and their bodies rest beneath the water. They dive for fish. Three of them in the most beautiful pose with water fountains behind them and all standing on a rock. There was no place to park, no camera, and I’m sure if I just parked on the road to try and capture them with my phone through the windshield even, they would  have flown away. I even had the idea of heading back there on foot, but the last time I tried that, the animals (fawns that time) were long gone.

I was also playing around with fluorescent “white” African Irises in oil painting filters with Photoshop. 🙂

I’ve been trying to find the skyrocket holly to plant, but no luck.

Okay, back to the book!!! It’s waking me up at 4, keeping me from going to sleep. I’ve got to finish it so I quit thinking about it! And get on with the next one. 🙂 I think it’s another Silver Wolf book. I can’t remember. lol

Birds at the Old Place, and New Place

cardinals 019 (640x427) (2)blue jays in love (640x462)I couldn’t find the blue jay photo at the other house, but believe me, it wasn’t good. He was in the shrubs and between the window screens, branch and twig clutter and a bird on the move, they were a lot harder to capture. I think in all the years I was there, I only saw one once.

Now what I don’t have here are these kinds of photos.

And one of these days I’m going to capture a snowy egret. They fly overhead here, but I never have my camera with me when they do. I had hummingbirds at the other house, but didn’t have my camera with me the couple of times I saw her around the flowers.

hummingbird 014 (3)With clear windows, no screens, up-close feeders, and a perfect “window seat” to capture them as I write away on my books and have my camera next to the keyboard, it’s perfect. AC, no bugs,  fill the feeders, and I’m good to go. At the other house, I also had to climb a kitchen stool to get up high enough to capture the birds on the back patio, which meant half the time they’d fly away.

Okay, so I’m back to work, finished SEAL Wolf Undercover and it’s off to the beta reader and promo blogs are done, and now I’m ready to do the rewrites on Between a Wolf and a Hard Place.

It’s a little cooler this morning because of storms last night so I was going to walk the puppies, but no insect repellent. I was sure I had tons of it. 🙁
