Scarlet Ibis at Moody Gardens, Galveston, Texas. They were great at posing for me. It’s the first time I’ve gotten some really lovely shots of them anywhere.
I managed 2,000 words on my “off” day, so I was thrilled. I have been lucky because I keep thinking of scenes to write, which is a lot of the problem with creating a story. Getting stuck.
Okay, I’m about ready to get started. My sock thief, Tanner, took off with the toddler’s socks. I found one outside in the yard. Need to still find the other. Tanner! He’s such a goofy little Havanese dog.
Have a fun one!

We had 2.5 inches of rain the day before yesterday and this little female was so wet.
Well, little one is coming this morning and we’re going on all kinds of adventures–the grocery store (he loves it!), the post office, I have him carry in a package and he loves being Grandmother’s little helper, Walmart (we rarely go so he thinks it’s the greatest)–and then home again and time for lunch, and his nap. And then it’s time to get big sister from school on our daily walk.
I managed to get to 14,000 words yesterday on Huntress Unleashed, so I’m about 4,000 words ahead of schedule. Yay!
It helps when life gets in the way or I get stuck on the story and begin to fall behind on daily word count goals. Two days a week–when I have little one, I have no word count goals–just in case I can’t make it. We stay busy. But I try to get in a 1,000 during the day while he’s napping and after he goes home at night. That gives me a little bit of a cushion for my weekly word count goal of 10K if for whatever reason, I fall behind.
Okay, I’m off to finish packing books up for shipment and feed the dogs, etc, etc, etc.
Have a wonderfully adventurous day!

So I went with my daughter to my first time ever pilates class and uhm, you want me to do what???? For how long??? How many repetitions? Do I have to? You want me to put my butt where? My hands where? My feet where? I just got into that position, what do you mean I have to move again? Is it over yet? We have to do more? You mean the other side now? Can’t we wait until next week?
I keep reminding my body that it’s for our own good. I don’t think my body believed me…..
We had fun. We’re doing it again next Saturday. At least I have a week to recuperate. Maybe I’ll be a little bit better at it next time….or not. lol One lady said she’s been doing it 3 days a week (what????) for six months and she’s in terrific shape. Soooo…fingers crossed, I can stick to it.
Hope you all have a great day!

My daughter went a couple of times to check it out. She said that it was a lot less strenuous than what we tried at home, going by a TV pilates instruction, which had us laughing and struggling and in pain. So we shall see. We’re going to a class this morning in a couple of hours. I managed to walk a mile and a half each day to bring my granddaughter home from school all week. The week before it had been stormy every day and the week before that, the kids had been sick and it was too cold to make them walk.
It’s back to yard work for me too. I’ve been cutting back all the dead ferns and pulled up another dead sky pencil boxwood. I still have more ferns to cut back. They came up from old forest growth. I love ferns, reminds me of the forests in California, but could never grow them anywhere that I had lived. Now I have an abundance of them!
I’m off to work on Huntress Unleashed. It’s at 8,000, hope to reach 10,000 today!
Have a great day!

I just finished Dreaming of the Highland Wolf, which is all about Highland wolves in a contemporary setting. See, you knew that wolves no longer live in Scotland, but truly, they do! Only in shifter form. So if you’re lucky, or not, depending on how you look at it, you might see one there, but it won’t exactly be a wolf.
Now I’m off to the world of vampires. It helps me to keep fresh with stories if I change things up. Of course there’s the problem of having to reread stories in the series to pick up other characters to give them their time too, and to make sure I have my world straight, though with the wolf one I’ve written so many in the series, it’s memorized…so it takes a little bit of previous story reading for other series.
But I’m having a ball and I should be at 8,000 words today.
Have a wonderful day! It’s foggy, fun, and perfect for a jaunt with the vampires.
