You Want to Sleep but…

Your dogs want you up and then THEY go back to bed.

I should have taken a picture of this when the right side was a mess too. There are still some blackberry bush roots and vining plant roots in there, so I’m going to work on them this morning before it gets sunny.

Hope your day is filled with success! I felt really good about whittling this mes down to something that looks better. You can see the daylily, which was just overcome by weed plants, and the salvia started to bloom, the same way. The gloves I got from Amazon for thorns worked great. Both the vining plant and blackberry shrubs have tons of thorns. I’m thinking of putting some more salvia in there.

Hippo Underwater

I took this photo at the San Diego Zoo. I’ve never seen a hippo underwater, so it was fun getting a shot of him like this. Think of it. You go swimming here and find him underwater? Highly dangerous. So no swimming! Don’t even think of dipping a toe into the water.

I’m still researching Bear in Pursuit, which is slowing me down. And of course I had to plant plants. No more buying plants. Now I just need to keep them alive.

Hope you swim only in nice safe places!

When You Go to the Grocery Store and…

Plants jump into your basket. Most are mums, some Turk’s Cap and a sweet tomato plant.

I’m off to work now and will try and plant these tomorrow in the morning before the sun is too strong.

Do plants ever jump into your cart when you hadn’t planned on taking any home???

Lighthearted Fantasy Fun

Okay, not a romantic at heart, says the lion jester.

I finally got the last plant planted, red esperanza. I was still trying to remove a couple of crepe myrtles. No success on the crepe myrtles. The roots go to China, and if you don’t get them all up, they just come right back. I love them, but they just sprout up everywhere.

I’m off to work on Bear in Pursuit. Nearly to 60K.

Happy World Bear Day

Photo of the bear taken at Wolf Park in Omaha!

I loved going there. I wish my son and daughter-in-law still lived there so I could see them and go to all the beautiful places there–forests, museums, wolf park reserve, their lovely zoo.

I need to plant one more plant, just trying to figure out where.

Elk at the Omaha Wildlife Reserve

He was happily chilling.

Well, the chemo has made my counts drop, they wouldn’t let me take the next dose of immunizations for another 6 weeks, and I was up really early, before it was light out, to trim back several crepe myrtles and a ligustrum. I still need to do a lot more, but wore myself out. lol

I’m off to plant some more plants while the shade is out if I can find the energy. Though it’s cold out!

Still not feeling well from the chemo. I was off it yesterday, but the residual will make me feel bad for a few days.

Hoping my blood counts haven’t dropped too much and that I can get the next dose of 5 vaccines today.

Sand Castles at South Padre Island

I took the photo of the sand castles there 6 years ago, and then added a different background from Daily Texture–a hand-painted background. A friend asked if these were AI generated. Nope. Some castle builders must have spent hours working on them. We came across them while walking on the beach before sunset.

Semi-original photo. I removed all the people in the water by using select tool of the water nearby, copy, pasted, masked off ragged edges, until they blended and looked like the original Gulf, minus the people. I tried a Photoshop AI generated removal, it was awful. lol Sometimes it can work. Sometimes it’s a mess.

My daughter has spring break this week, so we’re going to a garden center in the cold today. The temperatures dropped. Brrr, but we’ll have a blast.

Chemo is making me feel bad but I just have today and then I’m done for a couple of weeks. Have a super great day!

Beautiful birds!

The winds are supposed to be strong today, and tomorrow our temperatures are expected to drop significantly. I’m trying to get some yardwork done this morning because of it. It’s really nice this morning.

Hope you are not hit by this horrible cold–or in California’s case, this horrible heat.
