Hiking to the Lake of the Ozarks

I had landed hard on my knee and broken my big toe a week before we started all these wild activities while playing with the grandkids. This included a 36-hole mini golf, up and down hills and the same with the cave trek and just even the cabin, all the stairs to the cabin, then in the cabin, and down to the lake. I had to be so careful I didn’t fall again. I even paddled a paddleboat with my son-in-law back and forth on the finger of the lake where we were staying.

I believe all the climbing and paddling was like physical therapy and by the time I got home, my knee felt so much better, especially without all the climbing!

But these pictures show how steep the hiking trail was and how littered with rocks and roots–all hard to navigate in my condition!

We had a ball, though, and my daughter made sure I didn’t fall while my son-in-law made sure my 5-year-old grandson didn’t. lol

I’m on ch 7 of 30 on proofing on Bear in Pursuit!

Hope you are having a great Father’s Day, if you’re a daddy!!!

  1. Hi Terry
I am so happy you are getting your energy back.
Kodos you did not get badly hurt with your fall.
We are still getting lots of rain. It is so depressingly as I want to work in my garden. Because they have not returned our sidewalk blocks yet; it is a sea of mud.
Tomorrow is when our Grandson is coming for a few hours. Looking forward to having him.
They live so far away we do not see my family often.
    I love having FaceTime.
I know all about falling; as I have taken a few tumbles myself.
Take care Terry and have a wonderful day today.

    • I was out in a light rain pulling weeds. It’s the only time the mosquitoes aren’t biting.
I’m glad you will see your grandson tomorrow!! We have rain all morning. 1/2″ yesterday and my one beefsteak tomato was eaten. Grrr!
