I brainstormed with a friend last night to come up with what I needed to finish Highland Wolf. It’s finished, but I just felt I was missing something. So off I go to write!

My grandson will be here in a few minutes. We desperately need to go to the grocery store. I need potatoes. I think that’s the Irish in me that when I’m out of potatoes, I panic. I thought of making chili. No hamburger. And the list goes on.
He loves to grocery shop with me, both kids do, so that’s our stay out of the heat cool thing to do. It already feels like 91 at 7 am.
I’m also trying to get him used to using a scooter to the mailbox. It’s at the end of the long block and halfway down the next, so a little bit of a walk. He walks sooooo slow. When I begin to walk my granddaughter home from school when the heat lets up, it’s about a mile and half walk round trip. He loves to walk. He walked 5 miles with us on hikes and a city tour, and another time on a trip to the zoo. But he just walks soooo slow. lol So I figured if I could get him used to the scooter, it wouldn’t take us half an hour to get home. Normally, it takes me 10 minutes if I’m walking fast. But with the grands, that’s another story.

I was headed for the birding blind when I saw the deer in the tall grass. Almost missed them. This was in Brenham, Texas.
Still coughing most of the night. Tried every trick in the book. I managed to get 2 hours of sleep, then start coughing again. And of course the dogs wanted out at 6. I tried to ignore them because I had finally stopped coughing, but it didn’t work. And of course as soon as I tried to lie down, I was coughing again and gave up on it.
I managed to get 1,000 words yesterday. I was editing last night, wondering what I was going to write to make the next 4,000 words. The book is pretty much done. A subplot that I would have to thread through the story? Maybe. I had one idea that I will add, but it will only be probably a few sentences. It would be funny and add a little more conflict. Whatever I come up with, it has to add character development–not be filler.
I’m off to work.

That’s what I figured he was thinking! I took the photo of him at the Writer’s Retreat. I wrote, for sure. I had edits to do on a book to turn in. But I also photographed farm life, wild birds, and captured some deer coming to visit! It was the perfect writer’s retreat!
I managed to get my 1,000 for the day before and a 1,000 for yesterday on Highland Wolf. I normally write 2,000 words per day, but this head cold is still plaguing me. I only have 5,000 words to go for minimum word count.

She loved all the writers’ company, curled up around their laptops, slept or watched us. She was so sweet. I took photos of her, naturally, and petted her. She was in seventh heaven.
Well, this cold got the better of me last night. I couldn’t stop coughing and it got so bad I couldn’t keep my dinner down. I tried everything. Honey, tea, cough syrup, cough drops, nothing would work. I was so close to getting a 1,000 words on Highland Wolf, but I was just coughing so hard, I had to quit. Fifty-six words away from it! I never quit when I’m that close to reaching a goal.
Then I remembered I had nasal saline spray and I got out of bed and took that. That was it. I’m dog tired because of being awake so much of the night before I finally thought to use that. It stopped the constant heavy nasal drip and the coughing for the most part and I was able to sleep some.
I’m off to bed. Maybe I can get some more sleep and think up 56 more words for the story! Right now I’m too tired to think. I’m going to be like this kitty cat, without a care in the world and rest!

The cabins had a birders’ blind and I had never seen one of those before. The vegetation was really tangled so it was hard to capture some of the birds, but when they came down to drink on the water features, voila! A great shot.
Well, I’m sick again. My grandson has a cold, probably from daycare, and now I have it. Ugh!!! I just got over all that other stuff.
I’m off to work on Highland Wolf. I need 7,000 more words. I’m wrapping it up. I thought of another teaser to add also, though. I might. Or maybe not. With a congested head, I might have thought it was a great idea and if I write it down, it might not have been. Ha-ha!

So I was playing around with some scrap art to create this. Cheetah shifters anyone?
I was recently trying to use my mixer brushes on Photoshop, I like to add fur to furry critters, and I guess since some of the updates, it’s been messed up. I wish updates wouldn’t corrupt functioning areas of Photoshop so that they are no longer functioning!
My granddaughter is back to school today, which means I need to remember to pick her up after school!!! And I have my grandson today. I hope to ship some books today. I have the worst sore throat, kept me awake a lot last night. ugh.
But the good news is that I am 2/3rds through proofing What the Wolf Wants. Hope to finish it either today or tomorrow and then I can turn it in.

I managed to proof 10 of 30 chapters yesterday on What a Wolf Wants. Yay! So today, I hope to do another 10. We will see. I have one grandchild today, and the other tomorrow, but I have to pick up the other at school also tomorrow. Our new schedule. No coder’s classes this week. I have to remind myself.
I want to go out and weed too. I did a little first thing, but I might just have to wait until Thursday to really get at it. I was out watering too. Soooooo hot.

I’m about done with the edits on What the Wolf Wants, and then I need to read it all the way through, but I need to proof it next, to make sure there aren’t any mistakes. Then I can turn it in by next weekend, hopefully.
I have the grands tomorrow so that’s pretty much a non-writing/editing day, until they go home. 🙂

In my dreams. In reality, I finished edits on half of What the Wolf Wants yesterday–there are 30 chapters, a 1,000 words on Highland Wolf, and hope to finish several more chapters on Wolf Wants today so I can turn it in by next weekend. And I hope to wrap up Highland Wolf. I’m close! Nine-thousand words to go.
And I want to weed more this morning. Did a little. Making some lavender tea, and then off I go to work on the story.
