A Gold Fish

Not a goldfish, but this truly looks gold, doesn’t it? They were the prettiest fish in the tank at the children’s museum. If the leprechaun was about, he’d want them for his own.

We had a fun corned beef dinner, chilled afterward, and I fertilized the lawn in the dark in the rain. Yay! lol

It’s the only time we’re supposed to have rain and all my neighbors’ yards have greened up, so I figure I needed to fertilize. I’m sure they already have.

I didn’t get word count. I’ve got little one coming to stay this afternoon, so between that and having to get my taxes finalized, I probably won’t get word count today or tomorrow either, but I’m going to try! I want to get bark mulch. I want to get some flowers. But have to work instead.

Have a super fun day filled with beautiful gold fish and other wondrous things.

Yellow Fish Photo Art

Turtle looking in on the fish in the aquarium in this magical piece of art.

It was a wild day yesterday, between doing edits on cougar, walking, then going to the pool, swam, then watched baby, took pictures, then did some edits, then went home, then drove out to have my daughter’s earring issue fixed. She’d had her ears re-pierced the day before, and they were having a live band there so that was neat. And my granddaughter played Tick-Tac-Toe with us. Giant one, so that was cool. Thankfully I had my camera and took pictures.

Then we went into a fun toy shop, took pictures and then walked back to the car after a rainstorm. Then I drove to a place where they had planted a ton of golden coneflowers and they were so beautiful. I had my camera with me still, so I parked and walked over there to take pictures. Then went home, edited, had lunch, and then I walked the half a mile to their house for a cul-de-sac party in the light rain. 95 degree heat index, so it was hot. I ate too much so I hoped all the exercise burned some of those extra calories I shouldn’t have eaten.

I walked back the half mile in the heat. At 7:30, it was still hot, about 90 degree heat index.

So, I had a wild and fun day!

Today, more swimming and then the rest of the day will be spent on cougar and relaxing and downloading all those pictures! lol

Have a super fun day!

Yellow Fish

This is a picture of a yellow fish that I took at the Woodlands Children’s Museum. I took several, but the fish wouldn’t stand still and this was the only one that looked really good. lol

I was out taking pictures this morning of clouds, the sunrise, the full strawberry moon–which is not pink, and the flowers, perfect lighting. I walked before it got too hot.

Yesterday, I found the orders that I need, but my scanner isn’t working.

That’s how you write a story, you know. One problem after another. And the deadline is looming.

Anyway, going with the kids to the pool in a bit, so editing You Had Me at Cougar first thing this morning to get somewhere with it. I need to finish this up, final proof Saving the White Cougar, begin writing the Christmas anthology story and the Red Wolf Christmas story. At least the mess I made while organizing and getting rid of stuff is starting to look more manageable. But I still have a paper mess everywhere. Just not a foot high all over the place. In the past when I would attempt this, I would just toss it all in a box and figure I’d get to it later, and then not. Ever.

Hope you all have a grand day! I’m back to the story! And feeling really good about it!

Clown Fish and Blue Fish

Usually I can’t get very good pictures at the aquarium, but these turned out pretty well. I have no idea what the pretty blue fish is called, but I thought it was interesting that the black stripe on his head goes all the way “through” his eye.

I finished proofing You Had Me at Jaguar and turned it in. I’m back to working on either Woodland Fae or The Witch and the Jaguar this morning.

Hope you all have a great day! It’s cool out and feels like fall! Yay!

Colorful Koi on a Perfect Fall Day…

Everything came together for me when I took these pictures, the soft lighting on an autumn day, the fall leaves coloring the bottom of the koi pool, the movement of the fish and the water, the reflection of the trees up above. When I uploaded them, I found some looked like paintings, surreal, fantasy, fun.

I love when that happens, like when I’m writing and a story finally begins to take shape when I’m moaning and groaning about how I can’t figure out where to go next with my story–remind me when I start the next book and have the same concerns–and then…it’s like the picture all comes together. Or at least a part of it. A scene or two. A chapter. The End.
fish looks like a painting (800x533)

I tend to get a lot of backsides of animals when I visit the Cameron Park Zoo or others, but I still loved the detail and color of the fish in this shot.

This wasn’t the best picture, but I loved the character of it–the way the fish all came up to look at me, wondering if I had food for them.

I’ve tried since to capture the beauty of the koi and the green trees reflected in the waters, but I’ve never had the ideal conditions that I did that one day.

But then again, I finally caught the howler monkeys in perfect form the last time I was there, when I’d never managed before. So when one subject doesn’t want to cooperate, find another. Sometimes I have to do that with my writing too.
