Chives in the Garden

This one flowered. I planted two boxes full and they are doing great. They’re delicious on eggs and mashed or baked potatoes and a variety of other dishes.

I’ve been scheduled for the stem cell transplant for later in June. Yay! But I have to go through all kinds of chemo and get a new biopsy, replace my 2 line picc with a 3 line one (NOT looking forward to either), do all kinds of other rigorous testing, sulfa treatment for 10-12 hours one day and blood draws all day long that day, and then another day of sulfa treatment and then finally be admitted, another week of chemo, then do the stem cell transplant. Then no chemo after that while the stem cells hopefully begin to grow.

But it means constant trips to Houston once I’m released from the hospital for bloodwork and such for 100 days. I have to be with someone 24/7 to make sure I’m okay. So it’s not going to be a picnic.

In the meantime, I’m proofing Protecting the White Bear and hope to publish it before things get tooooooo wild.

Hope your day is filled with joy!

Fuchsia Salvia

Hummingbirds, butterflies and bees love them!

Well, I’ve had two days of being at the hospital–which means, hours and hours and hours. They gave me an infusion to try to boost my immune system to fight this cold, like normal people have on Monday.

They’re starting me on cycle 3 of chemo on Thursday which means a bunch of more hours at the hospital in Houston. The good news is that the micro cancer cells in the bone marrow from cycle 1 went from 760 to 7 in cycle 2. Woohoo!

Today, my granddaughter is graduating from her 2nd grade. Afterwards, she can be off from school, so we’re doing our grandma-granddaughter special day. They don’t actually get out of school for good until Friday. I’m taking her to get chicken nuggets for lunch, a grocery run, and a trip to the ice cream parlor. Then we’ll go home and play games. I miss doing all the things we usually do together, our once-a-month sleepovers and all the other fun stuff.

Sunday, I’m having my grandson come over for the day, and I’ll take him to have ice cream too. He’s been wanting to stay overnight so bad. But I think we’ll do the day visit. We’ll read books and do fun activity sheets, eat 2nd breakfast, lunch, he can take a nap, I can take a nap, the dogs can take a nap, and then get up and do some more fun stuff. 🙂

Hope your day is going great!!!

Yellow Daylilies in the Garden

We’re off to walk the baby!

We had wild thunderstorms and had 2 inches of rain yesterday!

I didn’t need blood at my appointment yesterday, which was great. Next week, I have a bone marrow biopsy, which isn’t fun. Also, I’ll be talking to the doctor about the next cycle. Ugh. I just want my blood count to build back up. With chemo, everything tastes metallic. I would love to taste food that tastes normal again.

Have a sunny day!

Geraniums in Bloom

More geraniums in bloom and the daylilies are all popping out!

We went on our morning walk. I have medical appointments tomorrow, but none on the weekend. Well, except I have to take Tanner in for a second shot. And today is the last chemo for a couple of weeks. Yay!!!

Have a terrific day!

Pretty in Purple

These are the other geraniums I picked up. Love purple. Can you tell? They had dark purple too, but I went with the more vibrant lighter color.

Managed to pick up the kids at the airport, got to hold the baby, yay! He’s so adorable. We’ve been wearing masks. They picked up colds and I can’t afford to get it. And made it to my book work appts on time. I also couldn’t sleep that night and wrote another 2,000 words on Wolf Heir, though still typing up the notes.

We’re off to take a park walk with the baby.

Have a super vibrant day!

Yellow Roses Transplanted Last Year

Miniature Yellow Roses–I had transplanted it last year to a sunnier location. But it spit in two, so I have two yellow rosebushes now. The other is in a different location.

I finished editing Protecting the White Bear last night, but want to do a final proofread. And I’m on the run again.

Have a super fun day for me!

The Mums are Emerging!

They’re not just for fall. I enjoy them in the spring and summer too. And the orange mums are just beginning to make their appearance!

I ended up writing 3,000 words on Wolf Heir yesterday, and so it’s up to 11K now. Yay!

I’ll work on Protecting the White Bear again today to try and get more of the edits done. I need to finish it!

I hope your weekend has been spectacular!

A Cascade of Azaleas

They reminded me of a waterfall in lavender!

Worked on Wolf Heir when I wasn’t at medical appointments, and it’s up to 8000 words!

Plan to work on Protecting the White Bear again today. The good thing about the weekend is that I don’t have any medical appts!

Have a super fun day!

Microplastic in the Brain

Miniature White Roses in the Garden. When I brought them home, they were so tiny. They’re now about 4 feet tall, but they don’t get any bigger than that. I love roses. And they seem to do really well here.

On to other news. I just read this article about the dangers of microplastic and so am switching out some things. I usually use ceramic dishes in the microwave, and I have several glass containers to reheat food also. My new storage containers are BPF free, and so are some new rubber freezer containers I bought. But everything else is going out. Including all the plastic cutting boards. You never know what could cause your illnesses, or even dementia, according to this article. So I’ll get a wooden cutting board like my parents always had. And don’t reheat your food in those plastic containers that restaurants send home with your leftovers!

Microplastic in the brain and elsewhere:

https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/doesnt-take-much-microplastics-leach-food-researchers-warn-rcna198975?

I have a lot of plastic bottled waters, but I’ve been drinking from thermoses, so will continue to do that. NO more plastic water bottles.

Hope you have a wonderful day!!!

Lavender Azalea

Rescued azalea at Home Depot some years ago. It needs to be in a sunnier location. It used to be. But other shrubs and crepe mytles now tower over it.

We’re having thunderstorms this morning, in a couple of hours, so say the weather people. So what does that mean? It’s time to toss out some more flower seeds!!! I need to feed the dogs and get them out before it begins rumbling, or they won’t go out.

Hope your day is going great!
