Pizza Party!!!!

IMG_5924 (640x538)

One of the things we did at the convention was invited 15 readers to the room and had a pizza party. Sara Humphries, Ashlyn Chase, CH Admirand, and Terry Spear had books, cupcakes, pizzas and drinks, bags of goodies and and other things to give away for readers, reviewers and bloggers. Jennilinh Dinh coordinated the party and gave away Mary Kay products. We all had fun. Just a different way to connect with readers, reviewers, and bloggers and have fun.

This was at the Romantic Times Readers Convention, New Orleans.

The cupcakes were yummy!!!

Last Chance to Get Bundle! May 21st Deadline! :)

All Covers Small

http://storybundle.com/news “I’d like to invite you to join us on a journey of Romance: Past, Present and Paranormal. That was the inspiration for this bundle, to join masterfully told stories into a fun and romance-filled voyage. The caliber of this list is astonishing to me. We have three USA Today bestsellers and two RITA-award finalists. Most of these authors have appeared on Top 5 and Top 10 lists such as RT (Romantic Times), Barnes & Noble, and NPR to name just a few.

We start in the past of Anthea Lawson’s spicy Regency. Then Dean Wesley Smith proves that having written more than almost anyone about time travel has everything to do with telling a past-and-present love story. To embark on the present-day, we join M. L. Buchman’s journey to a dozen lighthouses and Kay Stockham’s brilliant insights into what it takes to really see the light. Then journey into the paranormal with Kristine Grayson’s, well, irresistible start to an irresistible series of what happens when the Ancient Greek Fates start messing with modern romance, and Terry Spear’s tale of just how hot a vampire huntress can be on her path to true love.

Join us, too, for the bonus books: M.L. Buchman’s critically-acclaimed Night Stalkers series journeys to the White House, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Kristine Kathryn Rusch’s (aka Kristine Grayson) story finds a path from a dark past to a bright future. And Karen L. McKee is all those at once—past, present and paranormal—leading to true love as only she can write it. Please come join us on this romantic voyage.”

The initial titles in the bundle (minimum $3 to purchase) are:

Sonata For a Scoundrel by Anthea Lawson
Thunder Mountain by Dean Wesley Smith
Where Dreams Are Born by M.L. Buchman
Blind Man’s Bluff by Kay Stockham
Simply Irresistible by Kristine Grayson
Huntress For Hire by Terry Spear
If you pay more than the bonus price of just $12, you get all six of the regular tomes, plus three unmissable extra full-length books:

Peter’s Christmas by M.L. Buchman
The Death of Davy Moss by Kristine Kathryn Rusch
Shades of Moonlight by Karen L. McKee

The Bundle is available for a very limited time only, via http://www.storybundle.com/

Just got back from Romantic Times Readers Convention in New Orleans and had a ball, but now I’m trying to catch up on a million emails and things I have to do.

My editor sent me edits on Jaguar Pride, when she KNEW I was going to be at RT. Someone else asked for information for marketing and the cover info for A Silver Wolf Christmas when she KNEW I was going to be at RT. And the publicist sent me a bunch of guest blogs to do for the June release of Jaguar Hunt when she KNEW I was going to be at RT.

LOL

Soooooo, that means ALL of that, including my beta reader suggestions on A SEAL Wolf for Sale all came in at once, and everyone expects me to do something about it. Really. 🙂

But I will say I had a blast in New Orleans, from meeting reviewers, bloggers, librarians, readers, fans, authors, Sourcebooks staff, seeing the city and eating the delightful food in New Orleans, watching street dancers and the motorcycle cop who we thought was part of the show and wasn’t, and the handcuffed guy by the side of the road while the officer was unloading his vehicle to see what he had in there as I was leaving the city, hmmm, the graves sitting on top of the ground in someone’s yard– The interesting thing about that was that I was researching home burials and found it perfectly legal in several states, just as long as you don’t bury dead bodies anywhere near a water source. Burying live bodies is still illegal everywhere.

I didn’t take a lot of pictures. I had so many activities I was in charge of, I wasn’t sure if I would lose my camera in the process, soooooo, it kept getting left behind.

Romvet (640x323) copyI’ll post more pictures later, but I took this of one of the tables that was decorated for the Romance Veterans (Romvets) and for everyone who supports veterans worldwide really. We had a couple from Australia there too, and they were lovely who talked about their tradition of honoring the vets.  Romance veterans are women who write romance and served in the military. So we’re represented by every branch. It was a lot of fun. I took home two rubber duckies–one for the army since my mother and I served and I retired from the reserves, and one for the AF for my father, who retired from the AF active duty, and my son, who now serves on active duty with the AF. 🙂

I hope you haven’t missed me too much. Between not having a mouse to work with the laptop, and having to find time in between activities just to grab a bite to eat, it was hectic. But now I’m home!!!

And have tons of stuff to do!!! I need a vacation from my “vacation!”

Do you ever feel like that when you return from a trip???

Happy Monday!

Not Just Bird Watching!

IMG_4639 (640x427)

When I was a kid, I was taught to always do my homework before I could play. That work ethic was drummed into me and so it stuck with me all my life. So the last thing I did AFTER I did all the other things I HAD to do, was tried to coax the cardinals to come out and play. I went outside and was shocked that all their bird seed was gone.

We had 30 mph winds, so I was thinking that it just scattered. But what if the birds had eaten it? I poured some more on the patio, and then went back to working on the bears I needed to make for another shipment to Australia. (Now it suspiciously sounds like I hadn’t finished all my work before I went to play with the birds, but in truth, I had only planned to finish one bear and had done so, but after the break I was ready to finish the other. Just had to clarify there! 🙂 ) And when I went into the kitchen for a cup of hot tea, there they were! Both the male and female cardinals!

She was watching me from the tree as I took the pictures from the window.  Several were blurry, but this one turned out beautifully, which reminds me, just like with my writing, not everything will be perfect the first time. Sometimes I will have to rewrite something a few times before it works for me. 🙂

I’m still waiting for it to get light out so I can take the pictures of the finished bears, and I missed a couple of historical romance books for the raffle basket I’m taking to RT Convention and another author wanted to send hers also. And then two more authors wanted to add to the contemporary basket.

But here is the contemporary basket for one lucky raffle winner. I had to have these posted by Feb 1, so deadline drawing near!

contemporary (640x454)

I finished rereading Jaguar Pride, and will now set it aside and give it a rest for a couple of days, then reread it again.

So what’s next? Still have 3 more guest blogs to write, 4 interviews that I need the questions for, and need to get the bears ready to ship, still waiting on one sweater to arrive for one of the bears. And I’ve got 3 Rita books left to read.

I’ve started writing a ton of books, and I have another deadline coming up for another–June, but with the conferences, it will be here before I know it.

So it’s light out enough, and I’m off to take some pictures–not just fun pictures (even though taking all pictures are fun for me), but pictures of the bears and the updated historical romance basket giveaway!

Are you an “eat dessert first” kind of person, or do you do your chores, and then get to play?

Have a super great day!
