I kept expecting the doves to capitulate. They often give way to other birds. Mockingbirds can be bullies. But not this time. The mourning doves won the day.

I’ve been working on SEAL Wolf Undercover, and moving grass and planting flowers, and hanging pictures, organizing my office and taking pictures! The birds are full of life and it’s hard not take take pictures of them when they’re so begging for me to!
Daddy feeding baby cardinal. Note the baby has a tinge of red feathers, but not a red beak yet. From a distance, I thought the daddy was feeding some other bird’s baby! But you can see her/his little crown too.
Here, Mommy is like a ghostly blur. She’s on the feeder closer to the window while Daddy is taking care of junior. 🙂 So see??? I just had to take pictures.

Hmm, this is the second time my tomato plant container was blown over in a storm. I took out the wrought iron trellis, figuring it was making it too top heavy. Obviously, that didn’t make any difference. I’m going to try putting the trellis in the ground and tying the tomato plants to it. Maybe that will work….
And MAX! Leave the tomatoes alone. 🙂
Electricity went out so I kept the computer off. Bad electrical storm.
I found a used barrister bookcase at a real steal–a lady had it in her laundry room and wanted to get rid of the 40-year old cabinet that was her father’s. I had books stacked up in the corner of my office. So I was thrilled. I either was putting books away, or digging up grass around the plants I moved from out front to out back and planting flowers. Or, one flower. A pine branch fell in the storm, and broke off several of the flower stems for the ones I had sitting “safely” on the patio until I plant them.
For $80, when new ones cost around $600, it was a steal. 🙂 Now I have to organize the rest of the room and hang up pictures. Finally.

Okay, to me, they look like a couple of crazy birds, but probably to them, courting humans look like crazy. well, humans. They were dancing all around the tree, up, down, then did some wild flying gigs. Beautiful.
I downloaded some of my pictures, just what I had on my camera. But it did it in one 6500 photo dump. Sooooo, I can’t find anything. I’ll need to categorize things in files later on.
I finally had to get away from the window and write so I could get word count in. lol 🙂 But I had fun photographing what I could today. 🙂

I feel like a puppy again. Yep. Most of all my pictures were on my old hard drive, but I was backing them up with Carbonite. So now I’m downloading them to this hard drive so I can access them again. I have a million things to download/upload so I can be in business again. It’s like being reborn.
It’s amazing how much stuff you just get used to having until you don’t have any of it and go to use it and whoops. don’t have that either. Like my pictures.
But at least it’s a start!!! And hopefully I won’t be crashing constantly while I’m writing now!

My computer crashes constantly. I am getting it up some times, like now, so trying to post my blog before it crashes again, and working on my mss until it crashes again. It’s still faster than using a typewriter. 🙂
You can see with a little bit of sunlight, the plant is beginning to turn a bit green. 🙂
I’ve never grown so many different kinds of flowers. These are all butterfly/hummingbird flowers. But when I first got them home, the top picture is what they looked like. They still look like really bizarre alien plants, don’t they? It’s kind of cool seeing them before they look like a real plant. Add a fairy house and now it’s not alien but a fairy world.
I have others that I’ll show their transformation as soon as they do something!
But I’m a now kind of girl and I like to see what they look like from the get-go.
This is cuphea from the Mexican Heather family. And the ACE gardener says his attracts all kinds of hummingbirds.
This is esperanza, also supposed to be a hummingbird flowering plant. Hmmm.
I’ll show more pictures as they progress and then IF they really attract anything, hopefully I’ll get pictures of those too!
