In our county, someone started a testing service for the virus at $150 a pop. Cash. No credit cards. When insurance is supposed to be covering this. What gives? A scam?
A get-rich scheme by someone for people who can’t get tested?
Despite some saying that everyone can get tested. There is no problem with testing–it’s not true. So stop saying there’s no problem with testing.
Off my rant. I’ve got to write in my realistic fantasy world where there is no pandemic, soap and toilet paper shortages, no problem with eating out or flying on a plane or taking a cruise on a cruise ship, no problem going to a movie theater packed with people, or a grocery store, or a restaurant. Where kids can be seen playing on playgrounds, and bicycles are locked while the kids are in classrooms, and everywhere the traffic is a mess (well, one good thing from the lock down), where people still greet with a handshake and don’t have to stand 6 feet, or is that 10 feet away now? Where the news isn’t about death and dying numbers rising as if we were a world at war–which we are, just a different enemy this time. Where people aren’t calling their lawyers constantly, asking when they can file for divorce. Where the wasn’t a condom shortage. Yeah, of all times, right?
Yeah, my perfectly realistic fantasy world that is looking better each day!
Yep. Before it was it could be a bad thing for you. It could be worse for you.
Now the truth is, well, we want to keep the masks for our health professionals, which is totally understandable, but quit all the lying!
Yes, the masks can help, not only those who are showing virus symptoms, but from those who aren’t.
I read a good article about the density of the virus and how much sicker you can get if you are surrounded by it at work or at home with a sick family. It made sense that if you were in a grocery store and randomly picked it up, you might not be as sick, if you have no underlying health issues. But if you are packed in a place with people who have it, that you could be sicker.
I know from colds you can reinfect yourself, even with reusing a tissue. That you can do the same with the flu with using the same toothbrush from when you were sick. I always discard mine after I’ve been sick.
Can you reinfect yourself with this virus?
My son said that some say if you’ve had the flu recently, which I had, that your immunity might have built up and so you might not get it or as bad a case of it. If it takes the immune system a while to get into gear, that means it takes longer to take on the virus. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but since I have 5 weeks of being sick with the flu, I sure hope so. I was worried my immune system would have been compromised, but maybe not. I had read where the swine flu in 2009, that was totally downplayed and I didn’t even realize the States had it that bad, affected the younger people, that they thought that 60 or older crowd had built up an immunity from an earlier flu, but that the younger people hadn’t been exposed to the earlier flu that would help them have an immunity.
I don’t know. I had the flu really bad maybe seven years prior to that. So maybe so.
Hmm, so does that mean a little exposure might help in the future against other viruses? There is so much that is unknown.
Now we should wear masks. But it’s not mandatory. You know what? That’s really a good thing because buying them? There is no such thing.

Okay, need to get back to Red Wolf. The weather was so nice and it’s garbage day, so I was out trimming back plants. I planted an esperanza and it kept dying back in winter, not this year, and I have a rosebush near by. The next thing I know, I have a pine tree, several crape myrtles, and a yaupon holly tree all growing in and around them. I had a crape myrtle butted up against the fence, another rosebush, this one a volunteer right next to the fence and another crape myrtle showed up right next to the patio, all in bad places. So I was cutting back, digging up.
Now, if I hadn’t bothered to plant, I could have had all kinds of things growing there without any effort. Or would I have? In any event, everything was getting way too crowded. I’m trimming up the yaupons into straight trees. They’ll grow 15-25 ft, so that will give me some screening from the neighbors.
I alternate between wanting to just shut down, play a game and wake up when this is all over like Rip Van Winkle. Don’t you?
But deadlines loom and I LOVE writing stories. Especially when they come to me easily!!! Story…where are you?
