The birdseed tray is pretty old, so I used the mixer paint tool brush in Photoshop to smooth it out a bit. Jai, who created the background texture, said she paints her platform feeders in bright colors. Now what a novel idea! So my granddaughter is staying overnight and then all day Friday and overnight again and we’re going to sell GS cookies. But we’re also going to pick up some bright paint hopefully, and paint the bird feeder tray.
I have a busy day ahead of me before I pick her up from school, so I’m off to try and get some more words written on Bite of the Vampire.
The photo of the bluebird is mine. I used Daily Texture for the background. He was sitting on the back of a wrought iron chair just chilling when I was lucky to capture the shot.
I finally managed to get to 23k on Bite of the Vampire. I have lunch with my granddaughter today, but I’m hoping the rest of the day I can work on the story and get somewhere with it. At least I’ve added 4,000 words to it since I started working on it again.
From all my book characters and me to you, have a great one!
We’re supposed to have rain in the morning, but clearing for when I pick up my granddaughter, which I hope it does and I’ll walk baby to pick her up. Hope you have a lovely day!!!
Bite of the Vampire. I was so close to getting to 23,000 words yesterday. So close. Only 28 words away. But I have little one today early, so I didn’t want to stay up too late. We did lots of GS cookie sales yesterday. My granddaughter didn’t even want to go home to play a game. She wanted to sell more cookies. lol
I did finish up organizing my taxes, YAY! And I think I found someone to take them to. So I’ll try to schedule that for when I don’t have the baby.
Otherwise, it’s a baby day and we’re off to have some fun. Naptime is my writing time. 🙂
My granddaughter and I will be setting up a table to sell GS cookies this afternoon on Super Bowl Sunday. Woohoo! She has 300 boxes of cookies to sell, and sold 60 in her neighborhood yesterday. Yay!!
I had taken a picture of a puppet dinosaur at a drive-thru Jurassic World exhibit. So much fun. So here is a bit of whimsical art I created with it.
Today, I’m trying to work on the rest of the taxes. I’m down to the last one–postage expenses. Yay! Shipping for bears. Shipping for books. Shipping for bears and books. And then I need to find an accountant to put it all together.
I got edits back from Darla on Bear in Mind, thanks so much for the suggestions! I’m going to work on those today.
And I was doing edits on Bite of the Vampire, the 2nd in the vampire teen series. It’s already at 22K, so I don’t have that far to go on it and I want to get it done. I also have the third one started. Night of the Vampire is at 14K so far. Maybe I can get both done this year. I have the covers. Kiss of the Vampire was the first book in the series.
Hope you all have an exciting day! We’re setting up our cookie table in a little while, can’t wait!
It’s like the good ol’ days. We have 191 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to sell. My favorites are the thin mints and the caramel/chocolate ones. What about you?
My granddaughter loves Girl Scouts and I’m so glad. She’s the youngest Daisy in the troop. We did so many fun things in Scouts when my daughter was in it. I hope my granddaughter gets to experience them and more.
In the meantime, I’m proofing the marketing materials–the long synopsis which is about every major plot point, and then they’ll be able to design the cover, and I’m always excited about what they end up with. This is for Run with the Wolf–Roxie Wolff’s story. So I hope to get that turned in today and then get back to organizing my stuff for the taxes. I want to finish that up this weekend and find someone to turn them into to finalize next week. And then I’m off and running on a new book!
I forgot to write my blog this morning! That’s because I was putting the finishing touches on Bear in Mind and sent it to my beta readers! Woohoo! I started this book years ago, so I was glad I finally finished it. Other books kept grabbing my attention!
This is a Great Blue Heron flying off when my granddaughter and I were trying to get closer for some pictures. I love them. They’re so majestic.
Now I’m off to write up the marketing materials for Run With the Wolf. Then back to sorting out my tax paperwork. And then I can finally maybe get started on putting that garden bed together. I’m still cutting back plants before the new growth starts to spring forth.
Have a very merry day. Let it take flight, and you never know where you might land!
WOLF TAKES THE LEAD is the perfect mix of paranormal romcom fun and pitch perfect suspense. Although this book is part of a series, I think readers unfamiliar with the previous books can still enjoy it as a standalone. Characters from previous books are interspersed in WOLF TAKES THE LEAD, but they don’t crowd it or distract from the central romance or action. I look forward to Terry Spear’s next paranormal romance.
I’m on chapter 10, proofing of Bear in Mind. My publisher wants the marketing materials for Roxie Wolff’s story, Run with the Wolf. I always tell myself I need to write them when the story is fresh in my mind. lol Sometimes I do, but often not. I have to reread the story to do the long synopsis. I’ve been editing other books since then.
Hoping to get somewhere on taxes too. But first, the dogs are waiting for me to feed them, and the birds too. I walked out when a little hairy woodpecker was on the feeder yesterday. Love them. They’re so cute.
If you love shifters, billionaires who are very down to earth, and a heroine who knows her own strength, add in a romance that will have you fanning yourself and some intrigue to spice it up then WOLF TAKES THE LEAD is a perfect read.
Well, it’s not going to rain all day like they said. I should be able to pick up my bark mulch and tiny pebbles this morning as soon as they are open for curbside service. I have only done this once and it really was great since I have trouble lifting the bags of rocks. Getting someone to do it for you is pretty hard to do. They certainly don’t offer, even if they’re standing around doing nothing. I need to put the pebbles underneath the pavers that frame my flowerbeds as they sink under the earth when I add mulches and flowers.
So I was working really hard on my taxes last night, and I DON’T know what happened, but somehow I zeroed out my expenses last night. Thankfully, I had saved at an earlier point, but not late enough. I had worked hours on it. ugh. I couldn’t do the undo typing. It was just grayed out. So without kid interruptions today, though I will have lunch with my granddaughter at school and pick her up after school, I am going to try and redo that.
I’m nearly finished Bear in Mind. I did some edits last night and I still want something more at the end. Not much, but just a final comment or two. And then I can start reading all the way through. Or maybe I’ll start reading from the beginning anyway and when I reach the end, I’ll know what I need to say. Sometimes it works like that.
I need to feed the ravenous dogs and birds and get back to the dreaded taxes. Have a fun, fun day!
When I wrote this book, I had wanted to share the story about the last billionaire, Derek Spencer, and I hinted that Kate Hanover, who works for a billionaire she-wolf, had a crush on him in a previous story. I always wanted to bring them together, but create a situation where they have a conflict between them right away. Going for a job interview can be stressful. So when he doesn’t hire Kate to work as his bodyguard, but wants her to be his substitute–temporary–date at a grand affair, she’s not happy about it. But her boss encourages it since she was attending the gala anyway. But trouble brews with just that one little dance and things can get downright dangerous.
Wolf Takes the Lead–Coming February 7, 2023
USA Today bestselling author Terry Spear combines billionaire and shifter romance in a sexy, action-packed paranormal love story with a dash of fake dating.
Billionaire wolf Derek Spencer may have a rocky history with she-wolves, but there’s no one better to take as his date to the latest gala than the wolf he’s had his eye on ever since she applied to be his bodyguard—the remarkable Kate Hanover. Kate checks all the boxes for his perfect mate: she’s smart, sexy, and business savvy, not to mention one of the best bodyguards around.
But ever since Derek gave his bodyguard position to another wolf, Kate has been avoiding him. It’s only when she reluctantly agrees to be his date to the gala that she realizes why: the attraction between the two alpha wolves is undeniable, but Kate doesn’t want to end up as one of the billionaire’s many flings. The more time Kate and Derek spend together, the more they are in danger…of falling deeply in love.

A book giveaway and author interview is at Were Vamps Romance! Hope you stop by at their link and drop a line! I have to take care of baby all day, so I’ll probably be spotty on replies. 🙂
So will there be another billionaire story? I have already written all my billionaire wolf stories, but I do want to write the jaguar’s story sometime. He was turned against his will at a teen party and eventually started classy clubs for dancing and drinking and I’ve always wanted to share his story.
Well, I’ve got a full day with having fun with baby. One of my Havenese dogs just goes crazy over him and he does with my granddaughter also, but Miles gets in his face. My grandson laughs and tried to pet him. He’s really good with the dogs. So he decided to kiss him with his tongue like Tanner tries to with him. Of course, I didn’t let them, but I would have loved to have gotten a picture of him crouching down to kiss him. Too cute.
Wolves in love.
Hope you have a delightful day and if you are getting the book today, or it already arrived, hope you love it!
