It’s only in Ebook format. When I was setting things up for that on my website, I realized that the October release is now up for preorder also! I’ll post about it tomorrow. That is this years Christmas story set in the Highlands–Her Wolf for the Holidays.

Tuesday, Wolf Takes the Lead will be released. I have baby on Monday and Tuesday, so I’m going to have to do all my preposting today or I won’t be able to get to it until late in the day on release day!

Okay, so I did make 70K, my goal for Bear in Mind. Still trying to end it. And I’m still organizing taxes. Busy day today with all this stuff, so I’m off to get at it!

Do You Think They See Us?

That’s what the one painted dog says to the other. Maybe the tall grass hides them. I don’t think so. The pictures of the painted dogs and the two lions are mine. I used a bunch of textures from Daily Textures and a couple of elements from Foxey Squirrel.

So I was working on my taxes, trying to gather all my expenses, and it’s always a chore. It takes me about a week trying to find everything and get it organized. I keep telling myself one of these years I’m going to do better and do it earlier. 🙂

I’m at 68K on Bear in Mind. I was trying to write the final scene last night, but it’s still a work in progress. So except for taking my granddaughter to dance while Momma picks up Girl Scout cookies, yay!, and Daddy takes baby to the grocery store, I get to take my granddaughter to dance. Which I enjoy and I might be able to get some writing or tax organizing done too at the same time. I’ve been doing that when I wait for her to get out of school, or I was even working on finishing the bears while I was waiting. No such things as idle hands. Time flies when I’m getting stuff done that is hanging over my head!

It’s going to get to 64 today, but then into the low 70s. I have a flowerbed thingy to put together too, but I don’t want to get started on it until I have my taxes about ready to go and this book finished. It has maybe 72 screws to put it together, or more. So once I start on it, I want to finish it and not have a mess everywhere.

Okay, I’m off to take the dogs out, feed them, take them out and get to work!

Crazy Bird Shot

I was up on a walkway, looking down at this huge bird and he looked up at me with one eye. Very curious bird.

So my angel of a son-in-law switched out the 3 bad light bulbs in the kitchen after I fixed dinner for us, and my granddaughter put on sunglasses because now the kitchen is too bright. It has 7 recessed ceiling lights, but there are 3 switches for various lights, so I never turn them all on. And with the bright light vs soft light bulbs, I can use fewer and still see better. Ambient light is great when you’re trying to hide stuff.

Which reminds me of watching Game of Thrones and some of the episodes were so dark, I couldn’t see anything. There’s ambience, and then there’s ridiculousness. To me, it’s like they don’t want to show you how bad the actual scenes look, unrealistic characters or fighting or something and make it so dark that all you can get out of it are the clashes of metal against metal and grunts and groans. I end up just hearing the episodes as background noise while I was working on bears or a book.

Okay, so I’m off to work on the story today. I didn’t have any time to yesterday, though I did finish the other bear and shipped them. Rained all day yesterday and we had at least 1.5 inches. We’re not supposed to have any rain today. We need to dry out a bit.

Butterfly Beauty

I took the photo of the butterfly and used Topaz Studio to simplify it so it had more of a painterly look to match the more painterly appearance of the background texture from Daily Textures.

I didn’t have time for any writing yesterday, though I finished one of the bear orders and I’m halfway done on the other. What with getting groceries and running to Ace Hardware to find the replacement light bulbs for the kitchen (the original light bulbs are mercury which are not easily disposed of, so switching to LED as the bulbs go out) and picking up my granddaughter, feeding her, then doing her words and going to Girl Scouts, I only had time to finish one of the bears.

I hope to write some today. I have lunch with my granddaughter today, picking her up a couple of hours later, and then they’re eating dinner with me tonight so will throw a pot roast in the Crock Pot later. If I can, I’ll finish the other bear this morning and ship them off after lunch. It’s raining. We’ve had an inch so far.

Mohair Teddy Bears and Wolves

The best of both worlds.

Thanks to Lola for sharing her picture with me. This is a mohair bear I made and of course the first book in the Heart of the Wolf series.

I have Girl Scouts this afternoon with my granddaughter. It’s been so cold out. I know that this is winter, but… I managed to get 500 words on Bear in Mind yesterday. My son-in-law had to work late and so when he came to get the kids, we all went out to dinner, which was super nice.

I’ll try to get at least 1,000 words tomorrow. I’m close to the end, but just still trying to figure out how to end it. Sometimes, I have the end way before the end. Sometimes, like this time, I’m still working at figuring it out. lol I also finished the bears, but need to embroider the paws on the two for the order.

Off to get to work!
