I love these birds. They’re shy and I don’t see them as often, but they’re there.
I have both kids today, so it’s hectic. I managed to get 7,000 words this weekend on Highland Wolf but I am way behind on it. So I need to really keep after it.

I used Topaz Studio Impression on a photo of a branch of flowers, added texture overlays under and over the picture and the butterfly images which were my own–two taken at a butterfly house and the one on the lower right on flowers in my yard.
It’s cold out, feels good before the heat comes back. I managed 3,000 on Highland Wolf last night, so hope to keep going like that because I’m way behind with writing. This cold has really gotten me down.

It took me a decade to write the book because I had to keep stopping for other books that were on strict deadline. So I was glad to finally finish it! I hope everyone loves it!
I also redid the cover for The Genie’s Wish and worked on the story to add an epilogue and add more to the story.

I have a request for another vampire adult book. I need to see if I had another that I’d started. I don’t think so, so I’ll have to begin from scratch.I love it when readers get hooked on a series and want more. I had finished 2 of the ones I’d started last year, I think. So this will be number 7. But I’m working on Highland Wolf and want to finish the YA vampire book, Bite of the Vampire.
We’re supposed to get severe thunderstorms this afternoon, so I need to get some yard work done too. Oh, and I’m having auto read on Roxie’s story so I can listen to the whole story and see where I can add some mentions about the Mardi Gras party. I used the feature to listen to Bear in Mind for the last proof and was able to hear things that I had missed reading. That’s the way it was when I had books narrated for audio books. I’d hear things I’d missed. The auto read feature isn’t perfect–contractions come out weird, and words hyphenated can come out mangled, but otherwise, it’s really great for a different way to proof. Especially since I don’t have to sit and read, but can do some stuff while I’m listening.

Okay, I have to get ready to leave. My daughter, granddaughter and I are going shopping and having lunch. I missed out on the fun for the weekend because I was still so sick, so today is our day to have a little bit of fun.
Love butterflies and the fritillary butterflies are cool because they stay put and model for me. lol
I finished working on Bear in Mind so it should be available soon. Now I have to get back to working on the Highland Wolf book and I need to pull out Roxie’s story too. It took me so long to work on Bear in Mind yesterday, that I didn’t get anything else done.
Still sick. I’m soooooo tired of this. This sore throat and constant coughing just won’t go away.
Okay, I’m off to get busy. I have a lot of work to do!
I had so many things to do yesterday, but one of the things I was working on was a new cover for Bear in Mind. I’d purchased one from a book cover artist, but didn’t really care for the look of the couple, and it had a very brown background. Since this is a spring story, I wanted to show more of a spring look.
I’m proofing it one more time and then I’ll publish it.
Still coughing my head off all night long, and still have the worst sore throat. I’ve tried everything but nothing seems to be working.
I put together the new garden bed. It’s perfect for keeping my dogs away from the fence in a 9 foot area and for planting my herbs. I love chives so can’t wait to plant more.I just need to level it now and then begin filling it.
After I finish proofing Bear in Mind, I’m going to pull up Roxie’s story and add a Mardi Gras something.

I was playing around with a couple of my photos and changed out the backdrop. I love this woodpecker, but I rarely see it, so I got lucky. I love dragonflies, heroes of the garden.
So I’m still sick. I had to send in a bunch of artwork for a project so did that all day yesterday. I was supposed to go with the kids and grandkids to Austin and the Ren Faire and to a haunted cave the next day, but I still have the worst sore throat and constant cough all day and night long. I really wanted to go too. Wish I’d get over this.
I’ll spend the weekend trying to catch up on word count on Highland Wolf and proof Bear in Mind and update Demon Hunter and read over another book to add a Mardi Gras reference, and….I don’t think I can manage all that in one weekend. lol And try to get more rest.
But I’m about to upload Demon Hunter so that will be one thing off my plate.

I created the surreal picture by accident. I used one layer in Divide Mode and the elk in Hard Light and voila!A really unusual result!
I’ve been coughing for the last 4 hours so got up to write my blog. Hopefully, after taking some cough syrup and nighttime Sudafed I’ll be able to sleep. Off to try again.
Don’t worry, it wasn’t from recently, and I think it was old, but still, I think of all the work that went into it as the birds made it and there it is, ready for me to photograph and have fun with it.
Well, I can’t seem to get over this cold. My daughter wants me to go in and have a strep throat test because my granddaughter recently had it. I had an ear infection, so I was on antibiotics and figured I was safe. But then I had a sore throat again. I really think it’s a bad cold, but it doesn’t hurt to check it out since I’m coughing all night again. I was getting better. 🙁
I managed to get 600 words on Vampire and I think about 500 on Highland Wolf. I didn’t do as much as I wanted but I was trying to get other things done–a special picture for a special reason. Resolve the trellis issue, the tax issue, and had to fill out a bunch of tax forms. Plus, taking care of baby all day. He is so funny. He brings me a book, then backs himself up to me and says, “Lap.” I’m getting tons of lifting exercises because he has me read about 15 books per day to him. I still have laryngitis but it’s getting better.
Okay, off to send in my picture and create another I had in mind. I use my own main photo, mostly of animals, this one of wolves play fighting this time, and artify them.
