Upside Down Tufted Titmouse

I love these birds. They’re shy and I don’t see them as often, but they’re there.

I have both kids today, so it’s hectic. I managed to get 7,000 words this weekend on Highland Wolf but I am way behind on it. So I need to really keep after it.

Okay, got to go. We’re watching the birds on the feeders. Have a super Monday!

Little Tufted Titmouse in the Garden

I’m a little over halfway through on proofing While the Wolf’s Away, May release. I’m going to work on that all day. I approved both narrators for His Wild Highland Lass and Dawn of the Jaguar’s 15 minute samples, so they are off and running.

I’m going to have a doggy daycare here, so that should be fun. The corgis love me. Max adores Luna and makes Rilo and Tanner jealous when she comes. She’s the only female in the lot. lol

I’ll try to take pictures, but I’ll be busy trying to concentrate on the books too. I managed 488 words is all on The Emerald Isle of Mists yesterday, but I was working on proofing the other book instead, and we went to a movie yesterday, first time for my granddaughter. She wanted to see another one after that, not that we planned to but she loved it so much, though she was so tired, she fell asleep on the car ride home.

All right, got to take my dogs out again and then concentrating on proofing before the other dogs arrive and it’s utter chaos.

Baby just went home with momma. Both are sick with colds. She’ll come back tomorrow when her momma and daddy are looking for a new car.

But this is the first chance I had to post my blog.

I’m off to write on Billionaire. I changed the opening and now I’m getting more into it. 🙂

Swallowtail Butterfly & Birds

Okay, so this morning it’s hot and muggy and I was thinking of running out early to get errands run, but then I saw a hummingbird feeding off one of the flowers. And a tufted titmouse, and I thought, forget the errand running, get the camera out, clean the windows, and take pictures.

You see where my priorities are?

Birding While at a Writer’s Retreat!

My goals: Edit Dreaming of a White Wolf Christmas, walk, photograph birds

Walk: Check: I walked 6.5 miles on Saturday. (Friday, we got in, so I managed three miles just in getting ready, packing, etc, getting there, and walking all over to check things out.) Yesterday, I had to leave, but managed 2 miles between the morning and the evening after the 4.5 hour drive.

Photograph birds and other stuff: Check.

A tufted titmouse, male red cardinal, female cardinal, spotted towhee, and a female cardinal and sparrows. Quiet Hilltop Ranch had a birding blind. It was great! I didn’t have to photograph birds through a window!

Edits on Dreaming of a White Wolf Christmas. Check. I finished the edits I needed to make on Friday night, and spent Saturday and Sunday re-reading. I have 6 chapters left to re-read and then I can turn it in today.

I was worried about meeting all these deadlines with the two books of edits added in to do, but I’m off schedule, yet, still doing great! Except, now I have to keep writing on Flight of the White Wolf, due April 1st, and write the novella for Heart of the Wolf due March 15th.

So met goals and had a blast! More pictures to show the story coming up.

If you have it, hope you’re loving it and you can’t put it down to eat, or sleep, or anything. 🙂 That’s always my goal. What if you started to read it, set it down to fix dinner for your family, horrors,  and never picked it up again? That would be horrible!

So I had a “new” bird at the feeder. The tufted titmouse. Isn’t it cute?

Can’t you just see their expressions? The titmouse is watching from the other feeder. The sparrow has turned his head to look. The other sparrow has his landing gear down.

The gold finch is leaning down to talk to the one joining him, and the titmouse is watching the whole affair.

Since none of the birds are coming to his feeder, the titmouse decides to check out the other. He has made kind of a jumping leap.

Yep you can just see the story unfolding. Speaking of which, I’m over halfway done on Loving the Silver Wolf. 37,000 words to go, but that’s progress!
