Another little bird in Hawaii. I hadn’t seen one before. He was nibbling on the flower.
I’ve restarted the Halloween white bear story 4 times now with different people, different scenarios, not liking any of them. *sigh*
I’m going to work on a friend’s bear today and try and still come up with a story. I’m going to work on white wolf again once I’ve given it a week rest so I can see where I need to go with it, how to end it, finish a couple of scenes, make sure I have no loose ends. But it helps not to look at it for a week or two or sometimes a few days so that I can have a fresh perspective.

I had taken some pictures there when I had gone to my son’s wedding and realized I hadn’t played with some of them at all.

I finished re-reading the 2 white bear stories, so now with a whole bible of characters to choose from, I should be able to come up with a Halloween story. Hopefully.

A depiction of Eric Silver who is a forest park ranger and very much interested in the she-wolf who is running her own pack, though she doesn’t believe she needs another mate! Still proofing it. I’m up to ch 17 and hope to finish it today and turn it in. Or tomorrow for sure.

Another hectic day! Off to the grocery store with both kids to get things I missed yesterday. We were in a rush to drop Tanner off at home after he had his shots and get to the movie. But we finished the reading program for the school, though we’ll continue to read a book daily. We finished two badges for Daisy GS, but need to finish one more book for the reading summer badge. We’re donating some more books to the library today and hopefully they have some prizes left for the summer reading program there. I didn’t learn about it until last week, but she’d already read 30 books this summer, so she met the 10 book requirement. Plus HEB grocery store has a summer reading program so she earned a book that should be coming in the mail any day now.
They’re back! So off we go on our wild adventures.
I did manage to work on 4 chapters in Alpha Wolf Need Not Apply. It’s being re-released next year so need to proof it. Up to chapter 5 and hope to get to 10 by bedtime.

Kids both are here today and I was coughing all night long again. I did manage to get my marketing materials done yesterday, but want to read them over one more time before I send them in.
I wrote another 2,000 words on White Wolf, still not done. I’m at 85k.
Kids are going to dentist today in a couple of hours and then they’re back again until tonight. We added water to the bird baths and the fountain and picked red tomatoes. At 84 degrees, it feels like 97. You feel like you’re breathing in water. I’m tired. lol I’m ready for a nap.

In my own way. I was showing my 6-year-old granddaughter how to use layers, resizing, moving layers front to back and so forth, placing clipart–and she quickly caught on, selected the clipart she wanted to use, and dismissed me while she created her picture. 🙂
We’re still painting outdoor stuff to put out in the garden and did all her spelling words, reading about the shark lady, math, and science. We also donated a whole bunch of books to the library. And the roller skates I got her came in–they fit perfectly, and she is learning to roller skate. Or at least just the very beginnings–like how to get up after she falls–to which she says to me repeatedly, “I’m okay.” lol

Every time I visited Scotland, I just felt it was magical. So the picture of Scotland, the woods, reflected in the loch is mine and I added some more magic to it that I’m sure is truly there but just not visible to us mere mortals.
Off to donate books to the library–I have WAY too many because of my years of going to author conferences and it’s time to lighten the load. I’ve done purges periodically for years, but it’s time again. I hate releasing them, but… Remember that Hoarders show I watch? Yep, it gives me incentive to unload some things I’m just not using–ever.
Spring cleaning in the Summer and it feels great!

I finished the bird hangings and hung them back outside. Hopefully the paint will last for a long time.
This is a gnome house that had a bright red roof and faded fast within the year. So I am into aqua, maybe because I love the water so much, and I painted the door and flowers. I’ll go over the roof a couple of more times.
But you know when you paint, you find more and more and more stuff. Some things I like just as they are, but I have a fairy tree door that has lost all its color and a fairy that only had her flowers painted, so my granddaughter and I are going to paint those. I hope it’s not a disaster. lol She’s only 6 so we’ll see. Of course the 2 year old will want to paint too. I have his rock to paint, already added a first layer of paint, but we have to do it AFTER nap time.
I have two crabby kids who didn’t get enough sleep the last 2 nights because of fireworks’ parties. Too much fighting this morning and tears from older sister. So nap time is soon. Just feeding them and they’re watching a program and happy–for the second. 🙂

I’ve been watching Hoarders, and one of the things some people have trouble with is collecting neat stuff–I wouldn’t have minded having some of the garden statuary the one guy had, but his house and yard were buried under 6 tons of stuff that he had to toss so that he didn’t lose his home. His thing was he was going to take all the stuff he had salvaged from flea markets, yard sales, throwaways in people’s trash, and paint them, fix them, make them beautiful again. And of course that never happens. Why?
Because it’s buried under 6 tons of stuff. And even after they are unburied, he wouldn’t have the time or inclination to do anything with them anyway.
Which leads me to the three outdoor fence hangings I’ve had for 8 years in the sun and rain. My shrubs used to be way beneath them, but now they are nearly as tall as the 6-foot fence, which is good for helping to soundproof the backyard some, and privacy. But I wanted to showcase the bird hangings again on the fence so gently maneuvered through the thorny leaves of the burford holly shrub and grabbed them. Then I screwed the old hangers and hung the artwork on a fence where there are no tall plants. But the hangings are faded–even though they were not supposed to fade in rain or sun–and so I decided to paint them. Now, I’m NOT an artist, painter, or otherwise. So my version won’t be half as beautiful as the original artist’s. But I want to salvage them before they have no artwork and then I’d have to draw stick figures on them, which I don’t do well at all. lol And who wants pictures of primitive stick figures on their fence? I would have to leave them out for the trash and maybe someone would take them and turn them into beautiful works of art or just hoard them!
So that’s what I’ve been working on when I’m not working on the story. I already painted an old wrought iron plant hanger my mother had. I saved a beautiful birdhouse that she had left outside for years that could use some painting too. But that’s for another day. It’s on display with newer birdhouses I have in my kitchen above the cabinets, so all very neat and organized. I have two more wrought iron plant stands I would like to paint also. At least the hanger is now hanging outside and filled with flowers. And, I’m happy to say, the bird hangings are making real progress. I’m working on all 3 of them at the same time.
I have 1,000 words more to write on white wolf, woohoo, for minimum word count, so I need to get to work on it.
