So I’ve been playing around with the art challenges on Oscraps and this was one of them. Color Play.
I won one for last month!
Today, I’m working on Wolf on the Wild Side. I got a 1,000 words yesterday, wanted 2,000, but I was rereading Vexing the Highlander before I put it up on ACX for narration for an audio book. I needed to revise my biography and put it in the same font as His Wild Highland Lass, then I’ll upload them today and get back to work on Wolf.
I’m also cutting down some holly trees that have sprouted up on their own and are trying to take over all the other plants in their vicinity!
Hope you all get that monkey business out of the way and then have time to play!
It’s a good thing they’re not surrounded by sharks. I did have a hammerhead in there, but I wanted a more serene scene. lol
I’m off to work with my granddaughter some more. We’ve been doing worksheets, painting sun catchers, and coloring printable pages for coloring. We made cinnamon rolls for breakfast, fed the birds, and we’re about to do dancercizing next. When my daughter arrives to take her home, we do Pilates, but that means juggling the baby too. Sometimes he’s fine, but last time I ended up trying to do them with him in my arms on my lap. lol
I was trying to figure out my timeline again on my book, so think I have it all figured out and I’m at 75K. Need 80K for minimum. Almost there! I should have word count by Thursday.
As much as they are adorable, do not pet the lion cub, just saying.
Well, I’m off to start on writing, it is now Wolf on the Wild Side, Kayla and Nate’s story. I’m up to 70K, hope to get 2K today. I thought of a change I had to make and of course that changed a whole lot. But that’s okay. I’m going through and updating it now and then need to add some scenes. 80K is the minimum, so nearly there!
Have a great day! Mine is cold and wet, a GREAT time to stay in and write.
It’s another whirlwind day, another night short on sleep. Hoping to get a bunch of stuff done today and be able to relax after this! Well, and write, write, write.
In the portrait, the cats are behaving themselves. In real life, not too sure. lol
The one Highland book I was having narrated is done and I need to proof it, and I really, really, really need to get back to work on the current book. I managed in 2 days to get 1,000 words. I only have 12K to finish word count, but I just need to have the uninterrupted time to do it.
And then last night, I was thinking ahead to the other deadline books. Okay, forget to publish this!
Most errands run–oil light and tire light had come on in the car. Done!
It turned out really warm today, so we took a walk early. We’ve already done a jaguar craft with a puppy dog suncatcher to do and a walk to the pond to feed the turtles too. It’s supposed to get to 77 today.
I’m also trying to get some word count AND tax work done.
I need to still feed the dogs, and get back to work on edits, but I created this the other day. I love it when a scene means something. In this, you can tell they want to meet each other, but they’re a little cautious.
I’ve got to run errands. It’s cold out there! But I’m halfway done on proofing Christmas Wolf Surprise and I want to finish that today and get back on track on the other story tomorrow!
So hope you have a beautiful day! I’ve got to get bundled up and then be a quick change artist because it’s going to be 71 today. 30 degree change in temperature!
My soundbar is definitely going out on me. We saw Spiderman yesterday. It was really good. We’re seeing Matrix today and that’s it for the movies for months.
We’re thinking of going to the Build a Bear with my granddaughter one day this week and letting her build her own critter.
Speaking of building bears, I need to make another one for an order. But in the meantime, I’m typing notes from what I wrote last night by hand and am close to 49K. Yay!
In the artwork above, some might think that pixies are tiny and the cougars would be bigger. In truth, it’s all fantasy, right? And art? So we make of it what we will.
I finally, finally figured out where I’m going with the Billionaire. Kind of. It helped not to have little one here every night and day for a couple of days. Anyway, I’m on the home stretch, I think. I need to run some errands this morning, ugh, and I have to pick up my granddaughter this afternoon, so that will cut into my writing time, and I’ve got a repeat of something like that tomorrow. But hopefully, I’ll get this done by the weekend. I’m 900 words shy of word count. While editing, I was adding and cutting so much that I would have had it if I hadn’t cut over a 1,000 words yesterday, but that was good. It’s all good.
I have a scene in mind to write today, and I have 3 chapters left to edit, and then I still need to finish the book, but it’s getting there!
I had a nice letter from a fan today that she couldn’t put The Wolf Wore Plaid down after she started reading it. That is the greatest compliment a writer can get. And she loved how I had Guy injure his back and write about it realistically since she has back pain. I’ve injured my back and it’s something you can’t undo. Through the years since then, if I twist and lift a certain way, I’m in pain for days. Sometimes, I can manage to only re-injure it slightly, but other times, I really throw it out of whack. So yep, I know all about it.
She wanted to know if I would have more about Guy in a future story. Yes! I love it when readers are interested in new characters and want to see more of them. I figure when I write the last MacQuarrie’s brother’s story, I’ll pair him up in a movie with Guy like before, different castle, and then I’ll have to write Guy’s story.
While I’m running around on errands today, I think I’ll pick up more daylilies. When I put them in, they were pretty, but not that showy. Now that I’ve had some of them in for a few years, they are really showy. So it’s time for more. They do block out the weeds. And that’s what I really need. Showy flowers that bloom all the time and no weeds. A perfect garden!
Okay, got to get busy with the book, feeding the dogs, etcetera!
Hope you have a beautiful day! I’ve got to quit goofing off and get mine started!
