Sphynx Cats Having a Gnarly Discussion–Cat Art

It’s another whirlwind day, another night short on sleep. Hoping to get a bunch of stuff done today and be able to relax after this! Well, and write, write, write.

In the portrait, the cats are behaving themselves. In real life, not too sure. lol

The one Highland book I was having narrated is done and I need to proof it, and I really, really, really need to get back to work on the current book. I managed in 2 days to get 1,000 words. I only have 12K to finish word count, but I just need to have the uninterrupted time to do it.

And then last night, I was thinking ahead to the other deadline books. Okay, forget to publish this!

Most errands run–oil light and tire light had come on in the car. Done!

Have a super fun day!

Valentine’s Day Art

Having some more fun with it!

I really need to get cracking on the mss today. Took care of baby for about 4 hours yesterday and after he went home, I was just doing edits, so didn’t add a whole lot to the mss. Two-hundred-sixty-eight words. Far short of the 6,000 I needed. lol I will have to reset my word count timing because not catching up.

I had to start over on reading the story after working on edits on two other books. I’ll get Emerald Isle of Mist’s beta read today probably from the last reader and I can finish proofing and get that up for preorders on all the sites. Yay!

Off to work on A Wolf’s Second Chance. My editor is already putting title names out for readers to vote on. How does that work when the editor and readers haven’t read the book?

It’s freezing out here! My birdbaths both froze.

Have a great one!

More Watercolor in Photoshop Fun

Some more fun with Photoshop watercolor work as fans sent me their cat pictures. And I did one with my dogs! The one on the fence is a neighbor’s cat that I caught prowling for my birds on the feeders!

I worked on edits to Bear in Mind and Angel Fae yesterday, and will work on some more, but also on You Had Me at Cougar. I can’t decide which story to run with. They’re all around 20K. So for the young adult, Angel Fae, I need another 30K, and for the adult novels, at least 50K. And I still need to write the Christmas novella for the anthology. It will only be between 20-25K,–though sometimes they end up being around 30K, it just depends. If I can get an idea, I can actually write it in short order.

Bear in Mind and You Had Me at Cougar and Saving the White Cougar are somewhat intertwined, so I’m trying to decide which–You or Bear comes first. Saving the White Cougar is done and comes after.

So many stories, so much drama, so much figuring out. But this morning, I’m going to walk before it gets beastly hot today! I put off walking yesterday so I could walk to my daughter’s house last night for dinner, then they made the dinner an hour later and I was afraid I’d be walking in the dark. When I drove home last night, I realized I still would have probably been walking in the fading light, so I should have done it. But you see, I put walking off and then didn’t get any in.

It’s warmer this morning, so need to get this done. Once I start writing, it’s too hot out and I want to keep writing.

Well, I’m off and walking. Have a beautiful day!

Using Watercolor Brushes for Photoshop on Kitty Cats

I’m really having fun with the watercolor course that Mindy offered through her Magnolia Textures. These are some my fans’ cats and I enjoyed turning them into watercolors with Photoshop. I did these last night after I had finished working on Billionaire for the night. It’s still not done, but I finished the one scene and the other scene is partly done. I have to figure out how to end it!

In the meantime though, I worked on edits of the first 20 pages of Angel Fae and of Bear in Mind before it was time to go to sleep.

Yesterday, more daylilies had come out, so I was out doing some more picture taking. I had walked the half mile to my daughter’s house to help her take her baby to the ENT since it was nice and cool out, and I carried my camera with me figuring if I didn’t, I would miss taking pictures of something interesting. I was wrong. The field of wildflowers that would normally be blooming like crazy was cut down before it even had a chance, so disappointing, and not one great heron was at any of the ponds. I saw a few turtles, but I can take better photos of them when I’m close up while we’re feeding them.

Instead of picture taking, I figured my camera was extra weight to help me exercise. You have to look at the positive. So we get to the doctor’s office, the baby’s appointment is a week later. No problem. It’s just a dry run.  lol

I’m off to do edits on Angel Fae and Bear in Mind and then printing out more pages. Sometimes while I’m working on books, it will suddenly hit me where I want to go with a particular book, so I can run with it. So I’ll just do edits on a bunch that are works in progress and then really get going with one until I can finish it. I’m also working on You Had Me at Cougar, and United Shifter Force Christmas.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!! Mine is on it’s way to getting started. Have another cat picture from a fan to watercolor. So much fun!

Still under the weather today. I know this is just a head cold and sinus issues, but with the state of the world we’re in today and just to make sure it’s nothing more and they now have some testing places for it when they haven’t in the past, I’ll take a COVID-19 test. No rapid tests available, so I won’t know for 3-4 days. I will be staying home during that time, just in case.

I don’t know how many cases I’ve heard where someone doesn’t feel well, gets the testing, then runs all over the place, then a few days later learn they have the virus. Really?

Off to put the word out about the book release. I’ve been feeling so poorly, I just didn’t even think about it until this morning–after I wrote another blog, so set it up for tomorrow to post.

Have a great day and stay safe.

Fans’ Kitty Cats Love My Books!

You know how particular cats are! Thanks to my cat lovers and fans for sending me their adorable cat photos.

I’m off to finish making changes to Claiming the White Bear! I had another thought about Silver Town and had to incorporate it.

Oh, and so I was looking at plot ideas to give me a jump start to write the Wolff brother’s story, and one was: turn one of your dreams into a story. Are you kidding me????? You don’t even want to know about the bizarre dream I was having this morning.

Okay, off to edit!!!

Have a super day, and if anyone gets catty with you, sic one of the BIG cats on them.

Random Cats

Some of the cat pictures my fans have sent me–beautiful cats. And some I’ve taken of neighboring cats, or like the black and white at a writer’s retreat and the orange and white at Old Town Spring, just lazing around.

I worked on Claiming the White Bear, up to 15,000, I think, now. I have to type my notes to see. I started it last Christmas at my son’s house, but then had to stop to work on deadline books once they were contracted. Well, I started on them before that, actually, because I wouldn’t have had the time to write them otherwise. I’d like to just write and write and write, but you know, the words have to make sense. I often hear: wow, that’s a lot of words. Heart of the Wolf was actually 123,000 words, and then the novella was 25,000, and that’s a lot of words for the new release anniversary book. But they have to tell a story.

Anyway, so I was also working on SEAL Wolf Surrender with one of my beta readers. What happened to so and so? What happened to another so and so? Did he know that the hero was the same person he’d tried to murder before? Where was the purse with the listening bug? Yes! I love my beta readers! They catch things that I didn’t!!!

So hopefully all loose ends tied up, I sent it to my other beta reader who will find any other problems, and then it’s off to my publisher.

In the meantime, I’m NOT sitting idly by. I’m sill waiting for the clan fabric to make the Celtic Clan bear, the black and white fur to make the two pandas, and I want to get started on the last wolf book in the contract, due Oct 1st. And I want to get started on the fae book for this year, the Highland book, and Stryker’s story, next in the cougar series. If I wrote them all as novellas, they’d be done. lol But my readers want longer, so I’m working on novels for all of them. I also have a ton of older stories I continually revise when I have a break, or get stuck on the new stuff. Sometimes, they are more work than writing a new book. BUT, sometimes, after major revisions, they are my best sellers.

Okay, off to write!!! Our heat index is already 88 degrees. Ugh. Oh, and my daughter is the Cheshire Cat.

Have a great one!!!

Lion? Cougar? Jaguar? Bronze Sculptures, Austin

lion (640x427)

Bronze sculpture, Austin

lion front view (427x640)

I think it’s a lion. But right now I’m working on Jaguar Pride so I’m going to pretend it’s Huntley as a black jaguar. Halfway through rereading it and should have it done today.

I love having a cover for it. It makes it easier for me to visualize when I’m writing. 🙂

JaguarPride_041714_B

I actually did my million errands yesterday–spent 2 1/2 hours running them, and then saw Maleficent. I thought it was pretty good for being a remake of a fairytale. Though if everyone keeps retelling the stories as though there is no romance, it will become as predictable as the old fairytales.

Jaguar Cubs

I actually was using the difference to describe them in Jaguar Pride, but the two JAG agents end up being saddled with a couple of jaguar cubs while on a mission.

Okay, back to my own mission–finish reading Jaguar Pride, because the books are stacking up!

Have a terrific hump day!
