The Reflection of a Castle in a Well

well and flowers (640x480) (2)

I love purple flowers and these were more showy, but you couldn’t see the detail of the crenelated parapet which showcases the medieval design on the battlements better in the second picture I took with the tiny orange flowers bowing down over the well. They are actually to the right of the purple flowers above.

This was at Dunnottar Castle in Scotland, one of my favorite of the seven castles we visited.

Okay, back to writing! 18,000 done! 7,000 to go!

Have a super Sunday!

If I’m not taking pictures, or making bears, or writing books, I’m getting ready to go to my Facebook Party for the release of Hero of a Highland Wolf!

I will be taking everyone on a Crathes Castle and gardens in Scotland  tour this time. We couldn’t take pictures of the inside of the castle, but we could take pictures of the gardens from the castle, and then we paid also to visit the gardens and I have lots of those too. It was in October, and the fall colors and the flowers were in full bloom, and the grass was spectacularly green–just beautiful.

Castle below is Dunnottar.

Her Highland Hero
Lady Isobel is a Norman laird’s daughter, living near the Scots border where her father, Lord Pembroke, is trying to keep the peace. But her mother was a Highlander and the man Isobel loves most of all is Laird Marcus McEwan, who has been bringing news of her mother’s people for years. But now Isobel’s father wishes her wed to an English nobleman, who will carry on his title. Isobel will wed no other man but her heart’s desire—and that is one braw Highlander from her mother’s homeland.
Laird Marcus McEwan has loved the feisty lass forever. For years, Marcus has tried to convince Lord Pembroke to allow him to wed his daughter. But the Norman lord will not allow it. Then ambushes and murders make it too dangerous for Marcus to reach a peaceful resolution.

Nothing goes as planned and keeping the lass for his own is fraught with danger, as they try to determine who was behind the killings. Isobel and Marcus will do everything in their power to ensure they are together as they have always vowed they would be.

Dunnottar Castle, Scotland

Castle with wolf (581x640)

Getting ready for the next release coming up, Hero of a Highland Wolf (August)! I visited Dunnottar in October, and you can see how green the grass was. Beautiful.

Hero of HL Wolf-300 (390x640)

I just turned in Jaguar Pride edits and they sent me the FINAL approved cover for it. What do you think?

Jaguar Pride-300-1

Love the way they changed the cat’s eyes to make them really stand out, and love the purple.

Okay, I have to get back to proofing A Highland Wolf Christmas.

The fun part of all this is the books are written. No figuring out how to wrap up all the loose ends, or end it period. They’re done. Just final proofing. Yes!

But as soon as I have made the changes to A SEAL Wolf for Sale and turn it in, I’ll be starting with: Chapter 1. A Silver Wolf Christmas. No other words, just title, my name, and Chapter 1.

Where do I go from there?

I have no idea.

LOL

Have a terrific TGIF EVE. 🙂

A Secret Entrance

A Secret Entrance (800x600)

Cut through the rock, a stair entry was made to the castle, but it’s dangerous, high cliffs drop to the North Sea and so a fence was erected to keep people safe. But what do you see? Some have to see what’s hidden beyond, so they’ve bent the prongs down so they can climb over the top and walk the path that Highlanders walked a thousand years ago.

I wanted to see what they saw. Though I’m certain it wouldn’t have been much more than what I viewed from the places I accessed freely. But still, there’s something about a secret passage, forbidden that begs the visitor to want to explore. What makes this so off-limits? That’s some of the draw. Keep out! Off-limits! No trespassing.

But there’s something more to it than that here. A glimpse of something beyond that beckons the viewer to walk this path and learn where it leads to and why we can’t go there. And a question: Did the person or persons who bent the wires make it inside? Was vandalizing the fence worth it?

So I will continue to enjoy the secret just beyond, and be glad I was able to see the beauty of Dunnottar Castle on the North Sea through the entrances which were open to the public. I actually used this castle to describe one in A Highland Werewolf Wedding.
