Fantasy or Realism–of a Sort

Created using scrap art from Miles Beyond the Moon– The Girl and Her Friend or…the Fairy and Her Wolf

You see, the fairy could be a fairy and the wolf is also of the fairy world. Or the girl can be a wolf shifter dressed up in her human form, playing that she is a fairy and the wolf is her friend and didn’t want to shift out of her wolf, so she’s also “dressed” up as a fairy. Another scenario is that the girl isn’t a shifter but her friend, the wolf, is. Or that the girl is a girl and the wolf is a wolf and she’s raised her from a pup and the wolf allows her to dress her up.

See? Fantasy, Kind of Fantasy, More Realistic World…any of the notions could work, and others besides. If this was one of my fae books, the two are fae, the one a wolf shifter fae. If the story was one of my wolf shifter books, both are wolf shifters and one wanted to wear her wolf coat while playing at being fairies.

I LOVE creating fun stories from fantasy to paranormal romance.

I have little one all day–we’re doing finger painting today. I did that with my granddaughter yesterday. And I need some more dirt, so we’ll probably go to the grocery store today. We had a 1% chance of rain yesterday and I heard this noise that sounded suspiciously like it was pouring out and it was! I look back at the weather prediction and it says–1% chance of rain. lol

Okay, I’m off before he gets here.

Yawning or Growling?

That is the question!

I’m up to 38k and am shooting for 40k today on Warrior Elf. I need to have lunch with my granddaughter. I believe it’s going to be warmer again today. Yesterday was really nice, but strong winds had blown a branch off a neighbor’s tree and into my shrubs. I’m hoping the garbage men will take it away. 🙂

I’m off to work and then walk to her school, home again, work a couple of hours and back to her school. Have a lovely day!

Prince Argon has taken Lady Kersta and her companions hostage because he needs them to help him rescue his sister from captivity and then he must return to his princedom and make his twin brother pay for his crimes. So I have a fan role-playing group for my cougar series on Facebook and they’re so cute. I was trying to figure out which character needed a mate in an upcoming cougar book and I now have a list of characters two pages long. I loved it! They are so cute.

From sisters-in-law to vet assistants to brothers, and even a request by a father to have some kids–I adored the comments.

Okay, I’ve already been to the grocery store and run other errands before eight this morning. The only regret I have is that it was so cold this morning, still is, that mist was rising off the ponds and I wished I’d had my camera with me and snapped some shots.

Time to do Wordle, and work on A Wolf’s Second Chance!

Unicorn Reflection

Fun with unicorns! Created the unicorn with Daz 3D, Lynne Anzelc’s designs for the water pond and castle, pixelsquid koi, brushes for grass, stars, dust and more hair on the unicorn.

My granddaughter is sick this morning, so I’m off to work on the story! Though I had a couple of ideas on Emerald Isle of Mist that I need to type up also.

The Pixie is at it Again!

My soundbar is definitely going out on me. We saw Spiderman yesterday. It was really good. We’re seeing Matrix today and that’s it for the movies for months.

We’re thinking of going to the Build a Bear with my granddaughter one day this week and letting her build her own critter.

Speaking of building bears, I need to make another one for an order. But in the meantime, I’m typing notes from what I wrote last night by hand and am close to 49K. Yay!

In the artwork above, some might think that pixies are tiny and the cougars would be bigger. In truth, it’s all fantasy, right? And art? So we make of it what we will.

Orc in Trouble

So what makes the picture fun for me is that it’s telling a story. Like I tell a story. Is the Orc Boss at fault for not making his instructions clearer? The Orc Minion at fault for not doing his job? The Orc’s Advisor at fault for not making sure the Minion did what he was told to do? The Goblin at fault for being in an Orc camp?

What if the Orc Minion is in trouble for spreading some Christmas cheer?

Who knows, but I’m sure I can make up a story. lol

In the meantime, I’m at 34K on The Emerald Isle of Mists and on chapter 2 of final proofing of While the Wolf’s Away.

Adding a Little Fantasy Makes the World Go Around

I was out weeding, another cooler morning, yay! I need to put out the trash. But I’m thinking I need to take a walk too. So many things to do when it’s cooler for only a few more minutes this morning!

I created this from a mushroom background photo, added another mushroom, and then added the rendered Leafling Elf, tree frog, flowers and worked magic on the whole thing. Her eyes are human. I didn’t like the look of the 3D eyes. And I added human hair also. And of course all kinds of shadowing, light, blurring to give depth of field and reduce the sharpness of edges.

Sometimes it’s fun to jump into a fantasy world before I go back to the real world of shapeshifting wolves and cougars. lol

Elf and the Wisp-o’-the-Will

I created the background from two different pictures and the elf from DAZ3D

I had to pick up my granddaughter from daycare and the poor little thing was crying. The reason? They woke her from her nap. Now the ironic thing about that is she doesn’t need naps. Ever. She doesn’t fall asleep every afternoon. No siree, Bob. She doesn’t need naps. lol

Today I have her for the day, but still need to get a million things done. My audiobooks are non-exclusive with audible now so I need to set them up on Findaway Voices. That’s 17 titles, so it will take me a while. I finished proofing Primal Desire yesterday, and I started proofing Saving the White Cougar and I was working on promo blogs for The Wolf Wore Plaid and a little bit on You Had Me at Cougar, the summer book. So a lot of stuff that I need to get done before the baby gets here because I’ll be helping the kids with him next too. Oh and next up is the next Billionaire book once I proof White Wolf.

So my granddaughter goes to the doctor with her momma to get the baby checked out. It’s due in about 6 weeks. The doctor lets her hear the baby’s heartbeat.

“Did you want to hear your heartbeat?” the doctor asked my granddaughter.

Her eyes widen. “I don’t have a baby in my tummy!”

With that, I’m off to write before she gets here!

The Merman and the Mermaid

The shark picture is mine. The mermaid and mermen from DAZ3D, the porpoise and some of the fish from pixelsquid. The merfolk are courting and everyone has to get in on the act. Do you see Dory and Nemo in the picture? I had to add them for my granddaughter. First, I had Dory, and immediately she asked where Nemo was.

When I first started blogging years ago, I thought I had to do this so seriously, so perfectly, so properly. Then I became me. Then the blog wasn’t a chore. I can be silly, or serious, or me.

Now that my public service announcement is over with, I woke this morning thinking, ohmigod, what day is it? Tuesday? I didn’t get any writing done, hardly and little one will be here tomorrow. Wait, no, it can’t be. Whew, it’s Sunday.

Maybe Groundhound Day is messing with me.

No, the Fae. Yesterday in the middle of the day, do you know what I heard? The dishwasher running. All. On. Its. Own. I ran over, touched it, it was vibrating, and then…it stopped. The Fae are DEFINITELY trying to get my attention.

Alright, already. I’ll write another of your books. But after….

So yesterday, I wrote 2,000 words on Wolf in Need. It will be the new novella in the 10th Anniversary of Wolf Fever. Yay!!

Only managed about 500 on Highland Wolf. Hopefully I’ll do better on it today. I think that’s why I woke up thinking I hadn’t done enough on my 4 days “off,” that means my 4 days of writing.

I’ve been cutting back the dead growth on pentas and other plants and the irises had to be nipped back. Still have to do that with plants out front today. The pentas are supposed to be only annuals. But some are still flowering. So I’m going to see if they come back this year. If not, I’ll just pick up some new ones. They’re the only annuals I plant, usually. I mainly just plant perennials that will come back every year.

Okay, I’m off and editing on Highland Wolf. And have to think of where to go next on both that and Wolf in Need for today.
