Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m thankful for so many things, including those who follow and read my blogs!

I have to make a couple announcements. Dreaming of a White Wolf Christmas made Apple’s Romance of the Week. Super excited about that.

And Mated for Christmas is on sale for a few days!

So yesterday, I mostly did my 3-year-old grandson’s laundry, and he helped me sort and put his things away. He also matched up his socks so I could roll them together. Only we were missing three socks. I found one this morning in my clothes and just found one outside (Tanner, my sock-stealing Havenese, had taken it outside last night), and we’re still missing one.

But at least I’m truly thankful we found two of them!

And remember, if you are having a celebration today, it is one of those no-calorie-counting days. Just don’t weigh yourself for a week after the fact!

Turkey in oven, ham reheating in Crockpot, now it’s time to clean and I’m all set! My daughter is bringing the side dishes, we’ll play games after lunch, and the little one will go down for a nap. Fingers crossed.

I also finished Wolf on the Prowl early this morning. I cut out 9,000 words so am down to 93,500, so hope that works. Now I need to edit Alpha Wolf Need Not Apply and do a long synopsis of Wolf on the Prowl before I forget what I wrote. lol

The One that Got Away

This big old turkey is actually one at the Omaha wildlife refuge so no eating him, and boy, if he was smart enough to know it, is he one lucky duck. Or, turkey!

I’m off to try and write today. I didn’t get anything done with little one here yesterday. And tomorrow, I am going to the Veteran’s Day breakfast at my granddaughter’s school. They have one at my grandson’s preschool too, but they’re at the same time. He probably wouldn’t remember me going to it as well as she would. Her last year there, 4th grade, he’ll be in kindergarten at the same time as her, and I can have breakfast with both! If they still are doing it.

Okay, off to take the dogs out and feed the birds.

Turkey Time!

It’s almost time for turkeys, gobble-gobble. I can’t believe it’s only 16 days until turkey time!

I didn’t have much time to write on the book yesterday. I need to finish it up. After so few hours to sleep and all the running I did with my granddaughter, my brain was fried. But my granddaughter and I had fun shopping, having lunch out, and you know the expression, “shop until you drop?” Well, she was sound asleep as soon as I drove home from the mall. lol. We were looking for a birthday card for my daughter and didn’t find one. We always celebrate her birthday over Thanksgiving since it’s just the following week.

It’s going to be a high of 85 today, and then tomorrow, 78, so looking forward to it being a little cooler.

I’m off to get ready for little one. We’ve been doing cut and paste preschool puzzles. He’s only 2 and 1/2 but kids are never to young to learn things. Like older folks are never too old to learn new things! Labels for ages are meant to be proven wrong.

I Am Thankful

I’m thankful to all those who work on the frontlines–who give of themselves daily, and often with a smile and a word of welcome. I’m thankful to those who wear a mask out of consideration for their fellow humans in an effort to keep themselves and others safe. I’m thankful to be here still to share a feast with my family that live close by, since we’re together all the time, but I had to share this quote, unknown: Zoom Thanksgiving beats an ICU Christmas.

I’m thankful I could finally get Covid-19 testing when for months and months we couldn’t. It’s not rapid, but it’s better than nothing.

Happy Thanksgiving, and to those who don’t celebrate, have a beautiful day, and stay safe!

Darkland Elf, 8 Years in the Making!

She’s not supposed to be abandoned on the elves’ planet.

See? Never give up, never surrender! Believe me, I don’t write THAT fast! I have a lot of books I start and then don’t have the time to finish right away. Even Claiming the White Bear I started last Christmas, but had to stop to write wolf and jaguar stories. Little bit, by little bit, they finally are finished.

I got back from the Thanksgiving trip and am playing catch up all over the place. Got some really great shots at the zoo so will share for the next few days. Put up my Christmas tree last night, some lights out front just a few minutes ago, but still need to finish decorating. Baby loved the ghost out front for Halloween and would talk to it, so I picked up a “crystal” snowman that she can talk to for out front. They don’t talk back. lol So it’s a one-sided conversation.

Despite all that we did, Thanksgiving, the zoo, and signed books at the Barnes and Noble in Waco, I managed to squish in 9000 words for Woodland Fae.

Okay, I’m off and running. I need to make a list so I can keep track of everything I need to do. I had no food in the house either, so had to do some grocery shopping… And I realized I had published Darkland Elf on Thursday morning before we went to Waco for Thanksgiving, but I didn’t have any time to tell the world!

One of my beta readers sent back corrections for the The Witch and the Jaguar, need the other’s still and then need to format the cover for the is book. So it should be coming out soon.

In the meantime? I’m taking a break and  having lunch. I’ll send this bear to keep an eye on you. What beady little eyes and what a long tongue he has!

Oh No! Thanksgiving!

Dangerous beauty.

Yes, I’m grateful, thankful, and blessed! But….you see, I have a book I’m trying to do final edits on for my publisher and another book I’m getting close to finishing (it’s awful when I have to keep stopping when I’m really going to town on it) and another book that’s coming back from a beta reader that I need to finish edits on and then publish, and…well, Thanksgiving wrecks dieting, exercising, and writing. There. I said it. I’m so mean. Laughing.

Hopefully, we’ll go to the zoo though, take baby to see her first wild animals, I’ll take lots of pictures, and that will make up for all the other trouble Thanksgiving causes. Truly, I am grateful and thankful and blessed and I will have fun anyway, even if I can’t spend all my time writing!

Two thousand more words on Woodland Fae yesterday and walked 5.5 miles. I did about the same the day before, a little more walking though.

Off to edit and exercise because tomorrow will be another story.  Hope you are having a great week!!!
