Salvia for Christmas

I struggled to keep this new salvia plant alive this summer. And now it’s doing better than any of the others. One pink one did really well and then bit the dust. A fuschia one has held steady throughout the months. Here we are in December, and lots of flowering plants that struggled are coming back to life.

I moved the impatients around so many times because they were getting too much sun. They were in tiny containers and look at them now!

And because of a little rain, we’re getting fall colors.

We rarely get fall colors. Usually it just goes from green to brown to bare. So this is a real treat, fall and flowers!

A Delightful Daschund

A little winter whimsy. Doesn’t the puppy look like he could use a hug?

I’ve been working on Wolf Pack to turn it into a novel from a novella. It’s completely rewritten and three and a half times longer. I hope to have it available soon.

Little one is here! He’s having second breakfast.

Trying to get a couple of things done before we head out to the grocery store.

Get Your Morning On…

My morning routine is to create some fun artwork before I get my morning on. Or, that starts my morning, I guess.

What is your favorite drink for cold winter days? I used to drink ice tea for anytime. When I was in NYC in winter, they wouldn’t serve me ice tea in a restaurant!

At some point, I switched to hot tea and that’s what I drink. Sometimes lattes–peppermint mocha, but it’s so high in calories and sugar, which is what makes it taste so good, that that is for really special occasions.

Hope you’re keeping toasty warm on wintry days, but if you’re in more moderate climates, hope you’re staying nice and cool!

More Christmas Fun

It seems only right that if I’m writing about Highlanders, I should make a Highland Christmas picture. Doesn’t she look like she wants a hug? Hmmm

Next time I visit Scotland, I want to visit a Highland farm where they raise Highland cows (coos).

It’s 37 here this morning, and it truly feels like what it looks like in the picture. Cold. lol Loving it. Our high will be 58 so it will warm up.

Magical Winter

Little one will be here soon, and we are going on a grocery shopping adventure. The cupboards are bare. And we’re supposed to get rain when we pick up sister from school. We need rain, so that’s a good thing.

Wolf Moon

Working on Dreaming of a Highland Wolf story!! And Night of the Vampire!

So I put out solar Christmas lights, figuring that was a neat way to light things up, but the problem is that they only last for a couple of hours and then they’re out. I went to the kids’ house at six and by the time I got home at 8, no lights. I was disappointed, though I loved the concept of not having to have a bunch of extension cords all over the place. I’ll have to go back to my old way next year.
