Oriental Poppy?

This was a poppy of some sort, I believe, I captured on my walk.

I’m continuing with my different vegetable a day.

And I worked on tax stuff ALL day yesterday. Today little one is here, so I doubt I’ll get much done. I’ll try, but…

I did edit the first 3 chapters of Vampire Redemption last night also.

Whoops, little one is here! Off to feed her breakfast!

Have a super lovely day!

On My Walk

A squirrel with a nut in his mouth. He was right by the school where I voted. Do you ever notice you never notice life all around you? I could have just been walking to the school, but I wanted to capture some fun moments while I did it.

I finished Highland Wolf and turned it over to my beta readers. Now I need to get my tax stuff together. Ugh. I’d rather write.

I’ll be finishing up Vampire Redemption next. I think I need to write 2 more scenes. And then I’m off on the next adventure. For some reason, I want to write the next Wolff Brother story, but it has to be the Christmas story, so I need to write the next red wolf story instead. Or I’ll be in trouble with deadline dates. One year, I had them mixed up somehow, and I wrote a Highland book before the book I needed to write, turned it in and was told I needed to get the other done ASAP.

It was great. I ended up finishing both books early. lol

It’s turned cold again, relatively speaking. It was 80 the last couple of days and then it dropped to 45. But little one and I planted a bunch of flower seeds in the light rain, and I spread weed and feed before she even got to my house, and later after the rains stopped for a while, we went out so I could take pictures of flowers, and she told me which ones to take and then she had to see the pictures on my camera.

Okay, so I’m off to tackle taxes that I really don’t want to do, but I know I’ll feel better when I’ve done them.

Have a super, terrific day!!!

VegOut Day 3 & a Walk to Vote

It turned out to be a beautiful day and a 2 1/2 mile walk on the way to vote and back. I took pictures of flowers, squirrels, a great blue heron, green herons, snowy egrets and a great egret, and turtles.

More pictures later!

I managed to edit 9 more chapters, but still have 5 chapters and an epilogue to go, and little one will be here today in a half hour. At 5 am, I was spreading weed and feed granules. Yes, in the dark. In the light rain. It’s supposed to pour rain in a couple of hours, so I figured it was time to do it before my granddaughter gets here. I was pulling tons of weeds yesterday. You’d think I’d finally get a handle on it. But nope! And all my lilies and daylilies are appearing out of the ground. Soon, they will flower.

Off to edit a little bit before it’s too late and I can’t!

Have a great one!

Remember to Vote!

Added broccoli for the day 2 vegetable!

I took the picture of the butterfly on flowers last year on my walk to vote. It might rain later, so I’ve got to walk to the school to vote early. It’s about a mile walk or more, and I always take my camera.

Okay, I’m halfway done with proofing Highland Wolf. I’m really thrilled with the book so far.

I won’t even say what happened after I wrote the whole book and my editor saw the synopsis and said…no, not going to say it. And can he have…no. Not going to mention it. Taking out …no. Grinding teeth. Growling like a wolf. No…no…

I’m beginning to sound like my nearly 3-year-old granddaughter. “No nap. No time out. No hug.” I finally got the hug, cuddled her against my shoulder, and she relaxed, and she took her nap. lol But man, was it work.

So I’m back to proofing. Yay!! I love this book and I hope my readers do too.

Have a beautiful day!

I Want to Garden

Image may contain: one or more people and food

My first day of the vegout: potato and tomatoes! I’m not sure what I’m going to have today, but I’ll figure out something. The chives are fresh from my garden. Every year since I planted them in my pots, they’ve survived outside during every kind of weather and I’ve had fresh cut chives for my potatoes daily. So now you know my secret. I nearly always have a potato.

When my granddaughter was telling my daughter what the vegetables were in a book, she came to the potato and said, “Grandma’s potato.” She loves them as much as I do. Kid after my own heart. Her daddy does too though! But her mom thought that was some funny.

It’s going to be 80 degrees today and I want to shop for plants!!! I want to fill in one of the flowerbeds to overflowing so I don’t have to weed so much. Right now, it’s a bed with a few daylillies, gerbera daisies, coneflowers, salvia, a crape myrtle, a rosebush, a ligustrum, and lots of grass and weeds. It’s not like I haven’t planted other things in there to try and fill it in. It’s just that a lot of it isn’t making it. I’ve had this problem before. I keep adding plants and pulling out plants that are dying or dead, and then I add different plants. Trial and error. So in this one spot I was having trouble with in Oklahoma, suddenly, every plant I planted there grew and grew and grew. Too much.

Laughing. So I figure the same thing will happen here. Eventually. I have another flowerbed like that. So I need to do the same with it.

Okay, well, the good news is I think I wrote the last scene for Highland Wolf. I won’t know until I start reading it over today from beginning to end. Which needs to be my focus instead of shopping for plants. *sigh* But it’s perfect planting weather!

Have a wonderful day doing whatever you need or want to do!!!

VegOut–30 days of Vegetables

Remember to eat your vegetables!

https://vegoutwithrfs.org/veggie-tracker/

Every year I do this. My daughter got me started some years ago since she’s a dietician at a school district. I always eat vegetables every day, but the challenge for me was to eat some new vegetables I don’t normally eat, or I rarely eat. I don’t usually think of beans as a vegetable, so I try to get a bowl of chili in during the month, and if my daughter and I go to this one special salad place, we can choose all kinds of vegetables to throw into a bowl an add it to a wrap, including beans and avocado, spinach, tomatoes, and more. Even having a pizza at one of the pizza places, I’ll add spinach, dried tomatoes, mushrooms, and bell peppers. So it’s not that hard, but I often forget to keep track of it.

I’m getting close to the end of the book, Highland Wolf. I’m nearly at 90K and I need to write at least one more scene today. Need to go to the grocery store and pick up some more fresh vegetables too.

Hope you have a healthy and fun day!
