Parrot in Paradise

Maybe not exactly in paradise, took the photo at the Dallas Zoo.

So I actually wrote 7600 words on two stories last night, using the fighting game. It’s great. I am so motivated at first to get my word count, and I wasn’t doing any of the quests. Then I figured out how to do them, and I need more luck so I get better stuff that the monsters drop when I finish them off, or time to battle with strength, or defensive weapons, armor, not sure about that exactly. I had to do a 100 words in 10 mins for one monster and it was more of a challenge. lol I was able to do 278 in 5 mins with making mistakes and just endurance (did not like having to do that one), so I know I can do it.

My goal today is reach 20K on A Date with a Wolf (I have 16K already).

It’s just making it fun. I’m so goal oriented, plus I love playing RPGs so it’s the best of two worlds. Getting my word count in and playing a quest game.

All right, well, my son is coming in late tonight–about a 15 hour drive from Omaha, so I’m going to try and get my 5000 words in and do some more getting ready stuff. It’s warmer and rainy today.

Cougar Christmas Calamity is Out!

Cougar shifter Jessie Whittington plans to work on her psychic romance book before Christmas at the Whispering Pines Resort on the North Shore of Lake Superior, but peace and quiet aren’t exactly what she’s going to get right before Christmas.

Former army ranger Emerson Merriweather has returned home after being ambushed on a Black Ops mission, and now learns his uncle has died. When he meets his only guest at the cabin resort, he’s surprised she’s a cougar too. Before long, a blizzard hits, bear shifters wreak havoc, and he’s helping Jessie decorate for Christmas. Something he never thought he would be doing.

Jessie’s definitely the light in his life but he still has to take care of the man who set him and his team up during the mission. He knows he will be looking for Emerson to finish the job. Mystery and intrigue are the name of the game and things aren’t always as they seem.

I’ve been bouncing between stories, adding some more to a couple of them, still not sure which I want to write and finish. I need to start on deadline books by the 1st of the year, so I’d rather finish something I can by then…

I also have a ton of covers for several books I haven’t written. I wish I could just sit and write and it would just all come to me without a whole lot of brain strain. lol

The fun thing I did was the story Jessie is “writing” in the novel is actually going to be a story coming out too. I think I have about 18K on it. 🙂

I had so many things to do yesterday, and this morning. It was driving me nuts not to work on Cougar Christmas Calamity for hours yesterday, trying to get a million other things done. But I finished proofing it!

This morning, I was back to doing a million things. So I’m finally getting to my blog and then????? Publishing the story!

I have to run errands this morning in the middle of edits and didn’t want to stop, but I have to get some things done first and then get to work on it. Was weeding first in the biting cold, but at least I got some more yard work done!

Bird of Some Kind!

What am I? This was a bird at one of the zoos, and I just thought it had such pretty plumage, I had to capture it, but he wouldn’t look my way to get a nice face shot.

I was shifting through stories I’ve started before–two of my favorite, both vampire stories. One is the 2nd story in a YA series, and the other is the next vampire adult book. Both are at about 25K. I want to finish them!

But I’m back to Cougar Christmas Calamity, want to get this out before they stop publishing for the holidays.

We have 100% chance of rain today. I think it’s raining now, and will be through the early evening.

I took this picture of the piranha at the Waco zoo I think. Then added the textures and bubbles.

I’ve been working all morning on cleaning, getting the guest room ready, moving furniture so we can hang curtains in there. A job, but then it will be done. Little one stayed overnight and I will be glad to get some sleep tonight, though she was good.

Swan Lake

Picture of a swan I took at the wildlife reserve in Omaha, then did some overlay magic.

I finished creating the print books for the three vampire novels: Huntress for Hire, Deadly Liaisons and Forbidden Love. Back when I published the ebooks, and ironically, the audio books for Forbidden Love and Huntress for Hire have been out also, the process for creating print books was much more time-consuming and easy to make mistakes with. So I imagine what happened was I had so many deadlines I was working on, I never got back to creating the print versions. They’re in review now, so should be ready soon.

Today, I need to figure out the story line for the novella for the 10th Anniversary edition of Silence of the Wolf and turn it in. And I’ll be working on Cougar Christmas Calamity some more. But I also have little one overnight and so that will mean not getting a whole lot done after she is here this afternoon. So I need to work fast. lol

The weather has been warm in the afternoons, so we go out and do some yard work, she does too, for a few minutes, then she runs and plays, and I’ve been getting some weeding done. I need to pick tomatoes too. But this afternoon through tonight, we’re getting rain. Time for working on stormy stories.

Parrot Photo I took at the Dallas Zoo

I’m working on the cover for Cougar Christmas Calamity today. I finished writing it, and then sent it to my beta readers. So I’m hoping to have it ready before the cutoff deadline for getting things published before Christmas. I think it’s around the 20th. I’ll be working on setting up the book on the bookseller sites today.

Well, I do have little one here today, so I’ll be doing whatever I can. I also moved my file cabinet to where I hopefully will spend more time filing, lol, maybe, hopefully, and get more organized. It’s in sight of my desk instead of in a back room.

So that’s another project I’m working on! I’m going through 4 file drawers of files right now.

I also am starting back up on 4theword to see if I can get a little more writing done a day, especially with the holidays going on. It’s kind of cool because you’re battling monsters–the clock, to get something written. What’s neat about it is it forces me NOT to look at emails or stop to do anything for 20 minutes. I get 300 words done in about 10. It’s amazing how much more I can write when I’m not constantly being distracted, playing with photo art, emails, Facebook time, lol and other stuff. I can get the word count down in a short amount of time and then do more or do other stuff then. It works!

But right now, I just need to get ready for my granddaughter’s arrival.

Time to Give

I’m off to ship autographed books to a wonderful lady, Kelley Granzow, who sends them to troops Overseas. Anytime can be hard on separations, but especially during the Christmas holidays when servicemen and servicewomen can’t be home with family.

A group of shifter authors might be writing an anthology for next year, so fingers crossed. It would be a Christmas shifter anthology. More on it later, once I hear who all will be in it.

Rearranging Stuff

I took the photo of the bird at one of the zoos.

I was cleaning out some things I don’t use and I’m giving a heavy dark pine chest/cabinet to my daughter for her baby’s room. Which means I need to reorganize stuff. It’s a challenge to empty a full chest and find a place for all the stuff so that it’s easy to get to and ORGANIZED. It’s happening!

They’re going to try and move it when my son is here so the two guys can take it to my daughter’s house. It’s super heavy.

But, I’d turned it into a semi-bookshelf for my granddaughter also, so I need to put her books somewhere else too.

And I’m trying to finish edits on the Cougar Christmas Calamity. I’m nearly to the end, looking good, just still need to write another scene and maybe expand on another, plus make all the corrections today.
