Took the IV out so no more blood draws from it. Yay!!
Slept a little better. Yay!! But I can’t keep food down at all. Boo. I did walk a mile the last two days on the ward, so that’s good, but I need to keep some food down. One last chemo shower, yay!! Two more days of heavy duty chemo, and then two days of rest. Yay!
This was the fun times in New Hampshire at a lake last year.
Not so fun times now. I had chemo all day yesterday and then all through the night last night. Same thing for tonight through Sunday night. Ugh. Just vomited breakfast. I haven’t felt like having lunch.
I love all shades of purple! This little dragon is well cloaked in drapes of lavender flowers to keep him safe. Wouldn’t you love to cuddle him?
I’m working on Wolf Heir still. I’m getting 1,000 words a day, so that’s good. I’m just doing edits, so it takes longer to show word count progress.
They moved up my chest CT scan to Monday to check out my lungs to see how the pneumonia is going. Hopefully, it’s getting better and not stationary. Or growing. It could be they moved it up because they got some more of the bone marrow biopsy results back. Which means one of two things. The biopsy looks good and they want to see if the pneumonia is cleared up enough to start me on chemo again so I can get the transplant, OR the bone marrow results are worrisome, and they need to get me back on chemo so that they can keep it in check.
I’m sure that it’s good news. I choose to believe it is good news. I will know for sure when I have another doctor’s appointment. Mine has gone on vacation, so someone else will be seeing me. I probably won’t have another appointment though until the CT scan results are back.
I’m off to write! Hope you’re having a fantastic day!
I took the photo of the pig in Okinawa. Here is the original.
I managed to write 1165 words yesterday. I wanted to reach 43K, but I’m 165 words short. I’m shooting for 44K today. Just doing my blog post, and the IV antibiotic, and off I’ll go.
Love compiling images to create a picture–love jaguars.
The great news, if I’m reading it right, is that my bone marrow biopsy shows the cancer is still mostly in remission after 5 weeks of no chemo. YAY!
Which means they can let me have a few more days of antibiotics before they start the heavy-duty chemo and then the stem cell transplant.
I’ll see the doctor late this afternoon, wish it was earlier, and learn what he wants to do. But I’m feeling so much better, thinking the pneumonia is getting resolved, so hopeful we can get this started on Monday. I don’t want to be admitted to the hospital again, after being admitted twice for getting sick. But unless I have the stem cell transplant, I’m afraid I’ll continue to get sick, and they’ll have to keep delaying.
Once I have it, it’s still a rough road ahead. I’ll be sick, have to run in all the time for them to monitor it, but I’m hoping my body can deal with it, and I’ll be on the road to recovery.
I did manage to write 1100 words, short of the 1400 I wanted to write, but I thought that was pretty good!
I love purple flowers so when I found crepe myrtles in purple, I had to get them. Four of them. They are miniatures so they only get to about 4-6 feet tall, whereas the others can get to around 20-40 feet tall.
I’m coughing up a storm this morning, which means I still have pneumonia, but I was excited to write 800 words on Wolf Heir last night. It’s not my usual 2,000, but it’s a start since I haven’t been able to write anything. I wrote 300 words before this.
I’m trying to reach 40,000 today, which is only 400 words. So maybe I can add 1400 today!
My red crepe myrtle in bloom! It’s always the latest to bloom, and didn’t notice until I got home from the hospital and realized it was finally fully flowering!
I’ve been working on the book cover for Wolf Heir. It’s almost done. Yay!
I made potato salad yesterday–German potato salad, not that sweet stuff. But ran out of mayonnaise. Ugh. So I was back at the grocery store this morning.
I’m just mostly chilling. I can’t do yard work, although I really want to. They don’t want me exposed to the dirt. It killed me to see all the beautiful miniature roses and other flowers and not take some home. lol
I think the antibiotics I’m taking for the pneumonia are making me sick. I have to take them all day long.
With a spread of characters, an established shifter community and some creeping paranoia as matters go wrong, this is a detailed look at modern crime in an unusual setting. I had fun reading Terry Spear’s romance among the red wolves, in which WHAT A WOLF WANTS becomes quite clear.
Mission turns meet cute when a handsome Red wolf special agent accidentally breaks down the door to the wrong house. Good thing the she-wolf is interested and happy to help him with his case.
Red wolf and DEA Special Agent Ethan Masterson is on a mission to take down the drug gang that murdered his parents. On his last Portland, Oregon mission, he storms the wrong house—one that fellow red wolf Charlene Cheswick rents—and now he’s got a lot to do to make it up to her. And he’s eager to do it!
Charlene has never met an alpha wolf who tries so hard to get on her good side. She’s totally intrigued, but the next thing she knows, she’s signing up to help him with his case. Even though she’s a former homicide detective, this is a dangerous business and a mole in the organization isn’t making life easier for them. They have to take down the gang before they can concentrate on their happily ever after.
Praise for Terry Spear’s USA Today bestselling paranormal romance:
“The chemistry crackles off the page.” —Publishers Weekly for Heart of the Wolf
“Essential reading for werewolf romance fans.” —Booklist for Alpha Wolf Need Not Apply
“Spear delivers a layered suspense story.” —Library Journal for Night of the Billionaire Wolf
Started working on Wolf Heir’s cover. I just couldn’t write any further until I could see what they looked like. Now I can go back in and describe them.
Still not feeling well, though I’m breathing better. But still have pneumonia.
Well, I saw the doctor yesterday and had the CT scan. He’s worried that I haven’t had chemo in 3 weeks, so I have to have a bone marrow biopsy today, ugh, to see if the cancer is coming back. It’s a Catch-22. I need my immune system, which is in bad shape, to help the antibiotics kick out the pneumonia in my left lung. The CT scan showed that the infection was half the size it was on June 19, but still occupied a significant part of the lung. *sigh* If I don’t have chemo, the cancer can come back. If I do have the chemo, it will destroy any immune system I have.
The bacteria that’s in my lung is antibiotic-resistant, so I need my immune system to help fight it! So the doctor is in a quandary. And I’m in limbo. He will see me next Wednesday after the biopsy results come back. We shall see.
