The culmination of all the writing and editing and editing and editing and proofing is a published book a year later. So happy birthday Silver Town! You have a new release! It’s time to celebrate!

But AFTER I finish proofing Red Wolf Christmas. I had my whole day planned out. Proofing this morning. I’m up to Ch 12, have 30 chapters. Then Physical Therapy for my shoulder which is killing me. And then back home to lunch and more proofing. Then I remember OMG, it’s Tuesday. Release Day! What? I don’t have my website updated? *sigh* So I’m trying to get some of this done. I just can’t seem to get my head above water on all this. I need to do my newsletter, we still don’t have our author copies, argh, and I need to make a video trailer. I need to make a lot of video trailers. MAYBE after I get this book done. And the marketing materials are due also.

October 29th is To Tempt the Wolf’s 10th Anniversary Release also. Holy Moly!

Choose Your Poison

I took the picture of the jar at my daughter’s house and then embellished it, but truly, do you know what it is you’re drinking? I don’t mean spirits either. But all the sugars and the stuff you don’t know about? The minerals and vitamins that you’re supposed to take to make you feel on top of the world. The vitamins and minerals you should be getting from your food, unless medications you’re taking strip them out of your system. The “natural” herbs from the wild that are supposed to give you long life or miraculous cures that aren’t regulated in the least?

Maybe it’s the same as drinking some of this powdered skull, eh?

Okay, well I spent yesterday finishing up a scene, writing another, and I think I’m nearly to the end. It’s a good thing because I’m nearly to the deadline. I’m up to 106,000 words and will probably be at least to 107,000 today. It’s still not done. I’ll need to read it all the way through again after I finally finish it. But it’s getting closer!

Once it’s done, I’ll need a drink. That powdered skull is sounding good. I wonder if it will give me more insight and great ideas for my stories?

Spooky Weather

We had another 4 inches of rain yesterday on top of the 19 inches we already had. We have only a 20% chance of rain today, so not likely we’ll have any.

I took a picture of one of my daughter’s decorations for Halloween and embellished it.

So I’m off and charging on with the story. I’m at 101,000 words now, maybe, maybe, maybe an end in sight.

Hope you have a beautiful day. If the roads aren’t too flooded, I’m going to try and get some groceries. Or, just keep writing.

I’m off and running this morning. I wrote another 3,000 words yesterday, did all kinds of switching scenes around which changes things a lot. What? They were going to bed but now it’s daytime? Lunch is breakfast? This isn’t relevant. Oh, no, need more setup here now. Anyway, somehow with all the moving around of stuff, I still managed to write more. I’m at 95,000.

Off to do my thing.

Storms

I’m running out of time. NEED to finish this book and read the other to turn in. With my granddaughter, it’s hard to get much done.

I’m off to write. She’s back tomorrow again. And then four days of no granddaughter and all writing.

We ended up with 4 inches of rain yesterday, 3 inches for the first storm and an inch for the second. Yay!

Alpha and His Cheese Its!

It’s an enrichment program they have at the wolf reserve in Omaha. He didn’t just find trash lying around. They put chicken bones in it and he has to search out the prize. He found it and he took off running. MINE.

Reminds me of my granddaughter. She looked in the fridge this morning, pointed to my yogurt and said, “Mine.”

Yep, from wolves to kids, it’s the same deal.

I’m off to play with her…hope to get some work done on the story, or reading done on the other. We had rain!!! Yes! Three inches. We sure needed it.

Weeding Weeding Weeding

Gardening? Ha! Somehow I forgot the meaning of low maintenance landscaping…. I put out three 40-gallon bags of weeds and grass pulled from my flowerbeds the last couple of days. Some of it is zinnia that is looking like it’s seen better days and milkweed that the aphids have pretty much destroyed. Once I removed them, I could get to the grass and weeds they were hiding. I’ve got another bag started today that is already halfway full. I’ve found ferns, crape myrtles, elm trees, pine trees and live oaks all growing in that massive tangle of plants. They’re too close to the fence (except for the ferns) so I must transplant the crape myrtles, maybe the pines, and get rid of the others.

Okay, back to the book. It’s getting better and longer. yay!

If we’re REALLY lucky, and I mean REALLY, we’ll get some much needed rain. I’m not counting on it. But maybe I’ll be surprised. The lightning we had yesterday morning amounted to no rain.

Photo Compositing

One of the Facebook pages I follow: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Imaginationbyrowena/ mentioned taking something in your house and making a composite for it. So I did. It’s a fun exercise. I’m going to try it with a fairy my mother gave me years ago. This little bear paddling I picked up in Minnesota when I visited last year.

Another artist had done that using ceramic pixie figures to create composites and they were adorable.

Okay, finished 3,000 words + yesterday and I’m liking the story much better. I’m rereading all the stuff I rewrote yesterday to make sure it fits and then have to continue working on it. I’m 7,000 over word count. Yay! I’m shooting for another 8,000 words. Minimum at least 3,000.

So this morning at oh-dark-thirty, I took the dogs out and was shocked to see lightning. Maybe we’ll get rain. I wouldn’t count on it, but hoping…

Yesterday, No Blog Day–What Happened?

I have a routine. Check emails, blog, take the dogs out, feed them, take them out, do a million other things, then write.

Yesterday, I jumped into doing edits on the story. Did I tell you I received edits for another book? Sheesh. So I wanted to get some more done on this before I go back into another book. By the time I thought of blogging, it was way past time to do anything about it.

So today I spent 2 hours working on the garden, pulling up grass and weeds. With 100 degree days, I have to get it done. Early. It already feels like a sweaty 87 degrees at 8 am. Hot.

But I got a lot done, so now it’s time to get back to edits. Added 2,000 words yesterday, but need to tie the story together better. Not sure what to do to do it, but thinking on it. In the meantime, I continue to edit it because I can’t just sit around and think. I don’t have time.
