These are unusual. They have white on one side and black on the other and red in the center. Love miniature roses.
We had a super busy day yesterday–swimming, lunch out, mall window shopping. It’s so hot that going to the playground isn’t an option. Even at 4 this morning, it feels like 86 degrees out.
I’ve been editing the first 8 chapters of Wolf Bound, which means taking out and rewriting and adding in. Which means I only added 500 words yesterday. So 1500 words from minimum word count goal. Woohoo!
Today, we’re swimming this morning, though before the pool opens, I’ll get some writing in. And then having grilled burgers for Memorial Day.
Okay, I’m off to get something done before I can’t!
Have a rosy day!

I don’t think I ever had one that color before. It’s so pretty. The butterflies and bees love them.
Swim day at the pool was so much fun yesterday. My grandson loves the water and was really swimming (with floaties) across the width of the pool over and over again. My granddaughter swims like a fish now, so it was lots easier to take care of both of them by myself. We had a ball so we’ll be going swimming every day that I have them. The water was even warm because of our 100 degree days.
Amazingly, after such a wild day, I actually managed to write 4,000 words on Wolf Bound. Only 4,000 left to go for my minimum word goal. We had a busy morning today and tomorrow for hours, so we’ll see how it goes.
Hope you have a wild and wonderful day!

I had thought I had blogged yesterday! That’s what happens when I have little one here if I don’t get my blog done before he arrives.
We had wild thunderstorms yesterday, but when I came home from the grocery store with my grandson, I thought I saw this beautiful Asiatic lily blooming behind larger white ones. So in the middle of a light rain, we had to go check it out and sure enough, the lily my daughter had given me for Mother’s Day 2 years ago was blooming. Isn’t it beautiful?
I’m coughing my head off, not sure how long I actually slept last night, planned to sleep in but am giving up.
I finally got an appointment at the Ford dealership in Waco to fix a dangerous recall item. Now, for 2 years, I’ve tried to get it done in Houston, but nope, they won’t do it. I’ve been here 10 years, so it’s really frustrating that I have to drive 6 hours round trip to get this done at the dealership where I purchased the car. On the Houston Ford service site, someone said they told them to return to the place where they bought the car. They had bought theirs in California! If Ford dealerships won’t honor recalls like this, then why buy Fords? I won’t ever buy a Ford in this area because of it.
Okay, I’m off to get some writing done. I’m up to 45k, only 25k to go. I knew I could do it!
Have a super fun day!!

This is one of the nearly dead miniature red rosebushes I took home with me to try and revive, and look at it! It has not only a red rose, which is all it had when I picked it up, but a yellow rose too!
Gardening can give me lots of surprises. This is one of the fun kind!
Hope your day is going great and it’s only full of fun surprises! Off to write!

That the birds planted. I’m beginning to think I should just let them plant my sunflower seeds. The ones I plant don’t seem to come up all that much. lol
Little one on his way here. It’s been HOT and MUGGY. Couldn’t this heat wait until June at least?
Hope your day is filled with smiling sunflowers.

My little grandson and I were planting more butterfly weed flowers for the hummingbirds, bees and butterflies. We’re started coneflowers and lavender. We’re planting sunflower seeds too. And some more perennials, a mix, so I never know what will come up. The zinnias are all coming up though.
With all my shrubs and trees, I’m creating a little heavenly garden that helps to cut down on noise pollution and provides a green (and colorful flowery) place to escape to. The birds love it too and have found a little forest reserve of their own filled with birdbaths and a water fountain and plants with berries they like to eat. Though sometimes they go after my tomatoes too, but I have plenty to share.
Hope your Earth Day is a great one!

I taped up the glass wings and then my granddaughter painted the rusty butterfly, claiming it for her own, of course. Besides the fairy garden ornaments I got her when she was 4, she has claimed my large fairy, that we both painted, and we took some old rusty metal flowers–the one in blue in this flowerbed–and painted them.
She does have two bell pepper plants and a tomato plant, some flower seedlings coming up.
I finished painting, I think, the bistro set. Every time I look at it, it has more spots I missed. But we’re getting rain this afternoon, supposedly, so I’m trying to finish that up.
And I need to replace the ligustrum around the electric boxes. I need to pull out the dead ones though. We’re celebrating my grandson’s birthday today with lunch and presents and the zoo tomorrow, so….I need to get busy to get more things done!
Have a terrific day!!!

So they say it’s good to have dandelions in the yard because they’re often the first to flower for the bees, but when my grandkids want to blow the powder puff seed balls, I tell them they have to do them far away from my yard! We do it at one of the ponds, just in case you’re wondering if we blow them in other people’s yards! lol We don’t.
My granddaughter is off from school today, so we’re going to home depot to look at plants. Some that the housing development planted around our electric boxes died last winter. Before I get an HOA warning, I need to replace them, but I’ll get something as tiny as I can so that I don’t have to dig much just in case wires and stuff are there. My one neighbor and I share the electric boxes, but some of his made it, some didn’t.
And it’s an ice cream day because whenever my granddaughter is off from school, we go get one. We did it with my grandson the one day they were off this month together.
I’m still painting garden stuff. Got a little more done yesterday and started writing Wolf Bound, The Greystoke Wolf Pack, Book 1, which will be Bella and Devlyn’s wolf pack.
Okay, got to get busy before my granddaughter gets here. I can’t believe she’ll be out of school soon.
Have a totally awesome day!
