The Mums are Emerging!

They’re not just for fall. I enjoy them in the spring and summer too. And the orange mums are just beginning to make their appearance!

I ended up writing 3,000 words on Wolf Heir yesterday, and so it’s up to 11K now. Yay!

I’ll work on Protecting the White Bear again today to try and get more of the edits done. I need to finish it!

I hope your weekend has been spectacular!

Garlic Onions in the Garden!

I planted them, then we had the freeze, but they are doing great! A friend sent them, so I’m excited about them making it. I had them sitting on my counter for half a year, because it had been too hot to plant them at the time.

I had such plans this morning, ship a bunch more books, grocery store, etc, and then I remembered I have the annual AC inspection. Ugh. Of course when are they coming? Eight to 12. Nice way to narrow it down.

Okay, I’m off to autograph more books and plant that miniature rosebush! Done! It’s raining so planted the flower seeds and next is fertilizing the grass. I was autographing last night until I was worn out. lol

Have a beautiful day!

Foxglove-Poisonous and Pretty

I tried to grow it once. They really are pretty. But they are poisonous. Took the photo in Massachusetts at the House of the Seven Gables garden.

I didn’t get anything written on Highland Wolf yesterday, had both kids and then pilates. And I was working on video book trailers for Highland Bound and Mated for Christmas. Oh, and pictures of the family when we went to New Hampshire.

Off to get ready for my granddaughter’s arrival. I think I’m feeling well enough to take her swimming. I’m still really congested, but the pool will be closing soon when the kids go back to school. I wish it was open longer since it’s soooo hot longer. But the lifeguards go back to school also.

Have a delightfully fun day!

Coneflowers–Another Favorite

I grew these from seeds, and I have another couple in different areas. But with our hot, hot, humid, hot Texas heat, they do great in a little bit of shade. I have one that is in a lot of shade now and it’s not as profuse, just getting ready to bloom (old one, maybe about 6 years old and the seeds planted before the rosebush grew so big beside it). And another that I planted that is in full sun, that is still working on presenting flowerbuds. I planted the seeds for that one and the other that is pictured above this year. I love how their centers stretch to the sky in little golden mounds and their petals hang down. They’re such sweet little flowers. And they don’t mind the heat and sun and drought. Though a little shade and watering they welcome at this time of year.

I’m off to get ready for my next adventure. Barely got any writing in yesterday, but added a few descriptive items on Wolf Bound. It’s at 85K now.

Have a grand adventurous day!

A Fancy Peony in Pale Pink and White

The peonies were so gorgeous in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, but in the Texas heat here, it’s too hot. I checked though because I don’t remember seeing anyone who has them here, so I wanted to know if we really could grow them here. One lady from Nebraska said she had to have some because she loved them back home and she puts ice on them in the winter so they bloom in the spring. lol

Me? I grow plants that I don’t have to work that hard at keeping alive or helping to bloom. 🙂

I’m off to edit some more of the book.

Have a outstandingly great day!

Pretty in Purple

Love water lilies but this one was super pretty. Captured it in Okinawa.

I’m off to work. I was updating my dedication list so I have one for Wolf Bound, and then I’ll have one more to dedicate after that for Highland Wolf, and then???? I need more dedicees. I know. Made up word. But I’m a writer and it suits my purpose. lol

Have a fun made-up word day!

Cosmos Flowers

I’m really late blogging this morning. I was looking for a LIGHTWEIGHT camera to use that still would shoot telescopic and macro. AND is LIGHTWEIGHT. Did I mention that before? I probably can’t get all that in one camera, but it’s nice to dream. Between carrying my laptop on trips, which is heavy, and my camera and lenses which are heavy both on trips and just taking hikes to capture photos, I really need to lighten my load.

Okay, I’m off to work on the story! I have to take my granddaughter to coder school in a little bit and it’s supposed to storm. But just for a short bit, so it says. Tomorrow it’s supposed to rain all day. So it says…

Have a terrifically blissful day!!!

Pretty Yellow Daylily

It’s just like Christmas. I’ve had some of these daylilies for years, but every year, they pop out and it’s like opening a flowery Christmas present. I had these colors? Wow! This one just opened and I don’t remember having it at all. It’s the only one with this color anywhere in the yard.

Little ones will be here soon, so off to do my chores.

Hope you are having a fun-filled day!

Blazing Star

I have some tried and true flowers I plant every year because I know they can withstand our awful heat and humidity–zinnia, mums, marigolds, daylilies, salvia. But I hadn’t tried growing the blazing star and I thought it was sooooo pretty, I would see how it did. Plus, I love purple flowers. Several are getting ready to bloom and butterflies love it. This is the first to bloom. It was hiding behind my crepe myrtle. Even though they are supposed to love sun, in our too hot environment, the first to bloom was the one in partial shade.

Grandkids are landing in on me momentarily. We’re not supposed to have storms until this afternoon, so we’ll go to the pool this morning.

Have a great day!!!
