I took my long walk, off to the grocery store after 2 weeks, and then back home to the book. I’m at chapter 20 on Seduced by the Wolf, halfway through.

If any of these guys are looking for their shirt…they can come to my house. My book, You Had Me at Jaguar, is in the middle. I will definitely help him find his shirt!

We’ve been running and running. Little one is here.

I did manage to get Red Wolf done and sent to my beta readers yesterday and I’m up to Chapter 14 on Seduced by the Wolf–200 pages done, 300 pages to go. But getting there. I’m hoping little one will take a nap today and then I can get some more done on proofing.

Keep Cool

Have you ever been really hot and watch something that is really snowy and feel cooler? It’s hot, so having fun with some snow is nice.

At 96K, doing final edits before I send Red Wolf to my beta readers. Yay!

Next up is a novella for the 10th Anniversary release of Heart of the Highland Wolf. Uh, no, next up is proofing the 10th Anniversary releases of Wolf Fever and Seducing the Wolf. Then the novella.

Off to finish up Red Wolf so I can send it off!

Did You Know Lions Have Patterns?

I didn’t realize it until I looked at the picture on my computer and realized they are not just a solid gold/yellow/tan, but have a pattern!

So I’m at ch 23 on Red Wolf today, still proofing/editing, still haven’t finished it, but now I have the books: Wolf Fever and Seduced by the Wolf to proof too. That includes their new novellas also. *sigh* One is due Jun 18, the other Jun 19, and Red Wolf, Jul 1. Still trying to finish up Red Wolf.

Little one will be here soon, so off to work!

It’s going to be in the mid to high 90s for us, walked early this morning, and the heat index is around 100. Hot. Yesterday, I think it was around 96, 101 heat index. Picked up pool wristband, they’re setting limits on how many can swim, so we’ll see.

No Internet on My Main Computer

I work on my main computer all day and then my laptop at night. So it throws me off when I have no internet on my main computer. I received Wolf Fever to proof but I’m trying to edit Red Wolf still, so I meant to work on it there, but I couldn’t open my email where I have my updated version of Red Wolf. Yes, I could use a flash drive to transfer it. But I need my internet to do research and stuff while I’m working on the book.

Anyway, so I’m on chapter 10, catching changes, and making a list of stuff I mentioned and didn’t go anywhere with. Hoping to get another 10 chapters today. Tomorrow, little one will be here.

I’m off to work! Hope your day is great!!!

How to Create a Clipping Mask in Photoshop (And Why It’s Great For Bloggers!)

There are tons of ways to create a clipping mask in Photoshop. In the giraffe picture, I used a mask and the backround was a texture from Pixabay. The giraffe picture was mine.

In the Hairy Woodpecker picture, I used an Oscraps mask and a painted texture behind it. I put my picture on top of the mask, and clipped it to it. The mask revealed some of the background of the picture in spots that made it look like paint splatter. Then the bottom (base) layer shows through behind it. I wanted something that was light to emphasize the bird, so I picked a light texture for the background. And then I used an Oscraps frame to frame it.

Okay, I’m off like a herd of turtles, as my dad would say when we were going off to do something as a family and he was always ready to go, but then he had to wait on the rest of us. Still working on Red Wolf. Moved a section to another part of the book, then figured that didn’t work and moved it back and had to change things all over again. sigh.

Turning Photos into Art

Sometimes you just need something more to make the subject pop! Skimmer dragonfly and hummingbird on zinnia.

Little one will be here momentarily. I was out cleaning bird feeders and filling them up so we can have another fun day of bird watching.

A Gray Ladybug

I was at the kids’ house yesterday having fun, taking pictures of the wildlife–a dragonfly, a red ladybug, a Cuban anole, a skipper butterfly on a sunflower and guess what I found? A gray ladybug. And yes, they’re really a good little ladybug!
