So it was a late day with the kids yesterday so I didn’t quite make 1,000 on edits and little one is back today, sooooooo……

I’m trying to get this post done before he gets here! We had a great time at the grocery store and man did he eat yesterday. I think he’s going through a growing spurt. Nice walk to pick up sister at school too. Got to get ready for them.
Think of it realistically. The wolf talks to the girl. She talks to the wolf. They’re obviously both wolf shifters, right? In my book they are. 🙂
I managed 1,000 words yesterday. I wanted like 6,000, but I’m doing edits and that means adding and subtracting…
I have baby today and its grocery store time. The cupboard is bare and I really need some food. Watching Alone series and nope, not quite as far gone as their situation for food….I remind myself.
I managed to get 4000 words yesterday on the book so that I now have the minimum word count! Woohoo. I printed out the first 100 pages and edited them last night, so typing in the changes now.
My raised flower bed has grass in it that I didn’t want to cover and kill off because I wanted to move it to bare spots in the yard and finally did some of that this morning. I need to transplant some tomato plants that are doing really good, but they need more space. I don’t need that many really. Maybe I’ll put one out front and share it with the neighbors. Or I can just give the tomato plants away if anyone would like them! When they start producing, they make a million little sweet tomatoes.
Okay, I’ve got to work on the book today. My new goals is to make 6,000 more words and finish this puppy up.
I was trying to finish proofing Her Wolf for the Holidays so I could concentrate on Highland Wolf this weekend. I don’t like to have too many projects with deadlines hanging over my head so it was either get my word count and work on both again today, or finish proofing and concentrate on the new book all weekend long.
So I finished proofing the one book, turned it in and I even managed 458 words on the new book. We had wild thunderstorms this morning, so couldn’t take the dogs out. They will not go out in storms. I don’t blame them.
It’s still dark out, no more thundering, with possible storms this evening.
Okay, that’s it for the wild Texas weather report.
Off to get some tea made, the dogs out, in, fed, out, in, and begin really getting after this story. Only 3500 words to go– to make the 80K minimum word count.
That was so much fun and I was excited to be asked to be interviewed.
I feel self-actualized when I have time to take photos, turn them into art, and write! When I’m not able to do them, I feel I haven’t accomplished anything that day. 🙂
Okay, so I’m proofing Her Christmas Wolf Surprise (Lachlan’s Highland Wolf story)–up to chapter 6 now, and working on word count on Highland Wolf–I’m up to 76K, so 4K left to reach the minimum word goal. Yay!
I need to get to work. I should have word count by Saturday and hopefully have the proofing done on the other book and turn it in. Then I’m concentrating on Highland Wolf again and hoping to finish it up at 86K or so by Wednesday. Once I proof it, I’ll hand it over to my beta readers and get started on the next white wolf book. At least this time, I’ll have 3 months to write it, not 2. And hopefully I won’t be sick while I’m doing it!
So yesterday, I was ready to walk to the school, working on Highland Wolf and I hear this noise. I glance at the window. It’s pouring and thundering out. Not supposed to happen. My granddaughter didn’t have a raincoat with her because it wasn’t supposed to rain. I hop in the car, umbrellas for both of us in there, wore my raincoat, pick her up and we still have a walk back to the clubhouse in the storm, but her umbrella isn’t working. I gave her my umbrella and was glad I’d grabbed my raincoat. But I had really planned to walk because it’s going to get beastly again and the temps have been so nice.
I am down to needing 6K for the story for word count, yay! Make that 12K to finish it all up. But I got edits for another book to work on due in 8 days. Which will put me off my game for getting the other daily word count. I finished up two more photos for the magazine, just need one more and the interview and that will be done. I’m off to work!

They are so adorable. When I first saw it, I thought my eyes were deceiving me. A brown and white zebra? But then I realized the young ones were brown and white. I thought it was a different species of zebra. So cute!
No baby today. We really have a terrific time. He loves to help me with dumping recycling paper and kitchen scraps in the composter and feeding the birds. My granddaughter helped me spin the composter around and scooped up doggy poop. It’s a great long handled device that actually grabs it, not like when I was a kid and had to try to get it up with a garden shovel. I made sure baby didn’t chase the dogs while in the middle of doing their business. When they hold still, he goes after them. He’s really good with them though. He pets them on the back and he’s so gentle. He will be an animal person for sure when he grows up. He loves watching the birds and squirrels. He loves pointing out the moon. “The moon! The moon!”
And somehow on the two baby days, including my granddaughter for Monday, I was able to get 2,000 words each day. I still have 9,000 to go, but that’s never the end of the story. I usually get around 86-90K by the time it’s done. And I only have 18 days left. I’m hoping to have a week left after I finish it so that my beta readers have a chance to read it.
That’s my goal. I sent half of the pictures to the magazine feature, and need to do another 4 and the interview also. Once I’m done with Highland Wolf, I need to get started on the white wolf book. 🙂
So the kids are landing in on me in a few minutes for the day and I’ve started a pot of spaghetti for later. We had fun yesterday with the Easter egg hunt. My grandson was focused on the dinosaur bubble machine, while my granddaughter was having lots of fun finding stuff. We have all kinds of plans for today.
These were on display at the arboretum in Minnesota. Really beautiful. I wanted to give them life.
My granddaughter ended up having a fever and other than helping me wrap her brother’s birthday presents and take a walk and read his new books the night before when she was feeling well, then setting up her fairy garden, she was just not feeling well. So no Easter egg decorations. She did read a couple of books to me and we watched the Jurassic World kid’s show. Hopefully she won’t have a fever today.
We had 2″ of rain on Thursday, haven’t been able to see how much for yesterday yet, still dark out.
Okay, well, I managed to get 62K, can’t believe I made word count while she was here. I only have 18K more words until word count. I have both kids on Monday, so no word count that day. And my artwork is being featured in another magazine, so I need to get some new photos artified for that.
