Exercise and Photography!

Okay, last time I took a walk to the park, my strap came off my camera and the camera hit the sidewalk. I was lucky. It only jarred the scan disks, but it meant no pictures. This time, I dumbly changed my setting, and should have left it like it was. But I did manage to take a couple of beautiful photos.

Now, I take the dogs for a walk, they’re dead right now, because they chased a St Bernard puppy back and forth across the parks. I was in the little one. He was in the big one.

But here are a couple of photos on the walk there.

I kept telling myself I wanted to walk. It was really cold this morning. For us. I kept telling myself I needed to write. Getting ready to take the dogs for a walk is a major effort. And taking pictures while I’m walking them can be too. But, I’ve gotten to the point where they will lie down when I pull out my camera. I stand on their leash so they’re not going anywhere, and then shoot away. 🙂

I just wish I’d left my camera on its original settings. I kept telling myself when it got cooler I’d start walking. So this was the beginning. 🙂 And I did get half of my word count before I walked, so off to do the rest.

It’s beastly hot here. We were going to take a walk to the dog park, but at 6 am, it was like a sauna. Yesterday, it wasn’t as hot, drier, and a stiff breeze made it wonderful.

20160703_092904 (1280x1206)Dachshunds and beagles in the large dog park, and Havanese and Shih Tzu/Poodle in the small dark park.  The other dogs were barking before we even got there. But Max decided to bark like nuts on and off at the other dogs. Tanner was into exploring. Mishka was quiet.

20160703_093143 (720x1280)Max, Tanner, and Mishka all lined up in a row, trying to cool down. Shaded, so it wasn’t bad. The Havanese are Cuban breed of dog, so are supposed to be good for the heat.

20160703_093330 (720x1280)Then Tanner discovered the water, and he was so funny as he was trying to figure it out, and then had the brilliant idea of actually lying down in it to get cool.

Before the Weather Turns Bad…

We’re headed for storms, some severe, so I took the opportunity to walk the puppies to the dog park.

20160307_145459 (360x640)We saw an egret at one of the ponds. Couldn’t get any closer because of the puppies or I would have scared it off. We did scare off the brown ducks and the white ducks ignored us.

Max did a few times too, but he was busier with exploring. The funny thing is at home, he’s the opposite. If I go inside, he comes inside. He watches me constantly.

20160307_151350 (360x640)I filled up the doggy water fountain for them, so they could drink from it. They finally realized that really was for them. 🙂

We had fun. Now, it’s time to wait out the storm. Got the groceries, the mail, gas, the car washed. Yeah, I know, you’re supposed to wait until after the storm, right? But I wasn’t the only one waiting in line for the car wash.

And, I have started on Golden Fae! And she is in trouble already. The Viking’s Highland Lass is being critiqued now.

The Walk to the Dog Park!

I was finally well enough, though still had a horrible coughing spell while I was walking, but managed nearly 3 miles with the puppies.

Here they are on our walk:

I tried to take the picture of the remnants of a maple tree that had shed most of its leaves, and the grasses and pine trees behind it. Between the wind, and the puppies pulling, this was all I managed to get.

red leaves on tree (360x640)I tried to take a picture of a yellow bird in a bare tree, but it was impossible with the puppies pulling at me. I should have just stepped on their leashes. I’ve done that before and left my hands free so they couldn’t jerk the camera around. 🙂

It was a good thing I took my phone. I got turned around on the walk home. lol But I did make it to the Post Office today with no trouble at all. Will wonders never cease???

I’m sure this all needs to be in a book.
