Last Teddy Bear of the Year! And Totally Goofy Weather!

The clan fabric was ordered in Oct, but never arrived, so they had to ship it again. So here he is, finally! And that’s the last of the teddy bear orders for Christmas. I have 3 boxes of bears to ship.

I’ll be making up some more bears eventually, just to have some more ready for orders next year. That’s the only way I stay ahead of the game–make them to have a back stock. But everything’s clean and I hate making a mess again so soon.  Especially since I’ll have company again for Christmas.

I’ve been working a little on Phantom Fae. But I had 11 chapters to critique for one of the stories in the Kissing the Highlander anthology and then had to reread my chapters and upload them. So that took most of the day, and finishing up the bear and getting him ready to ship.

Now I need to finish the last 2 chapters and epilogue for my critique partner and make the changes she suggested on mine as she sends them to me. I’m also working on Phantom Fae, trying to get a 1000 words a day. Not as many as I usually try to do, but that’s because I’m still working on His Wild Highland Lass changes also. Once that’s finally done, I’ll begin formatting the anthology also for the 5 of us authors who are doing this together. So as usual, lots of projects going on!

Oh, and then before I know it, it will be the new year. And that means new deadlines all over again. Trying to get Phantom Fae done this month. 🙂

Anyway, I’m up in the middle of the night, unable to sleep, so working on Phantom Fae edits!

If I’m not going to sleep, I might as well do something!

Ever do that?

Oh, oh, and I really should check out the weather from time to time. It was 75 yesterday! And this morning at 3:23, 63. By 8 am, it’s going to be 40 degrees. And the high today??? 48 degrees. Talk about goofy weather. And then??? On Thurs, 72, and Fri, 75. No wonder we can’t get used to the weather!

It’s definitely a paranormal, vampire kind of morning. I think of foggy London streets and well, foggy Texas cornfields, which by the way, I don’t think they should still be standing. They’re looking to be in sad shape and I think something has happened to our farmer.

And I continue with making bears! Finished 2 last night, but can’t show off the one as it’s a gift for Christmas and the recipient might see it.

I’ve been working on Call of the Cougar, but because of the big push to promote Tall, Dark and Paranormal, I haven’t been making any kind of solid word count. Maybe a 1,000 in the last 2 days. I haven’t had time to type up my notes.

So off to work on that,  and hope you all have a lovely TGIF. Days are beginning to blend into one another like the scenery blending in with the fog!

Mission: Fog

That was my mission. Take pictures of the fog. I love fog. It reminds me of vampires. And ghosts. And the mystery beyond.

So when I see a fun, foggy day, I take pictures. Only this time I thought I’d try to capture the fog and then do a black and white version of it. Some of the photographers’ sites I visit have the most gorgeous black and white photos. Total novice here, but I thought it was interesting, nonetheless.

It’s a bit cluttered with telephone pole, wires, a fence post, hose roped around it, a picture of the bare field in between my property framed by trimmed hedges and then my neighbors of his trimmed peach orchard, and beyond, trees in the distance. It’s also interesting to see the fog layers and how deep it is the further out you get. It shows a country life where wildflowers can grow with abandon.

And this was taken on my other neighbor’s side where the fog was even more pronounced. Actually, it was getting thicker by the time I moved to the backyard.

But I was thwarted on my mission to take pictures of the fog.

Because of him.

Here I was happily looking for fun fog shots and he was in the backyard, looking at me when I must have taken the 2nd fog picture. I turned to take one of my back acreage, and there he was. The farmer was actually getting ready to sow his crops so was making a racket right next to my yard, yet Wiley, the Road Runner, just watched me and let me take several pictures of him surrounded by henbit, the wild purple flowers around him.

And then I worked on bears for one bear order, 3 Matheson Clan bears. They have their tams/bonnets on, but are bear chested, needing their sashes still, and waiting on the fabric to come from Scotland.
And then I have to finish up the Campbell and MacPherson Clan bears for another order.
So that’s my mission today.
And our nice warm weather dropped in temperature, because it’s March! Prediction of ice on Tuesday.

Fog is Halloween

If I don’t have to go anywhere, I love fog.

It reminds me of “The Fog.” Or any other creepy foggy story where who knows what lurks in it.

It reminds me of Halloween.

It usually means the heat is mixing with a cold front for our area, and that’s even better. This fog was even thicker earlier and I finally remembered to take my  camera out and take a picture of it. 🙂
