Garlic in the garden and a HUGE bumblebee. I was trying to take a picture of it without scaring it off. He was on the wrong side of the garlic buds and I didn’t want to move, but he was coming around nicely. Then my son-in-love, love him, wanted to get close to see him too. No, no, no! the photographer in me wanted to shout–silently, hoping the bumblebee wouldn’t fly off. But you know what happened, right?

Vegetables I threw in my spaghetti–peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, onion. I would have had green peppers and I love adding spiral zucchini now too.

Tomatoes in the garden–I have 14 on one plant, the other tomato plants are just little tiny things. I think my daughter gave them to me too late. Hopefully they’ll grow up and give me lots of tomatoes to eat and share. Note: I said to eat first. Yes. Me first. Love tomatoes from the garden.

We played this game for Mother’s Day. It was fun. Like playing Scrabble only with cards. We were playing with a themed card each game and I was lucky enough to get the themed word each time. It’s not easy to do. I can’t find a picture of it that I took, but the other was Paranormal. Now, that is my card, no doubt about it, and from my first hand I had GHOST. Yes! It’s mine, mine, mine! I came up with ALIEN for the SciFi one. But I still didn’t win either game. My Son-in-Law and I weren’t using the right strategy. My daughter won both hands. Then it was time to go in and have brownies as it was getting way too hot out. Little one was playing a game on the couch after we went in and we glanced over at her and she was sound asleep. lol

I told myself I was going to get started on Highland Wolf edits today. I’m up to 71K on Red Wolf, need 80K to make word count, hate not finishing at least word count, but I need to turn in Highland Wolf earlier. Sooooo, I’m off to play with the Highland wolves again!

Need a Do-Over Day?

Games are great to play because if you make a terrible play, you can just restore an earlier game. Yesterday was one of those days that I felt I had fallen out of bed on the wrong side. Everything that could go wrong, did. And then, last night, same thing.

But you know what? I persisted. Didn’t help, but I kept going and didn’t give up.

Garlic growing in the fridge planted in the planter, bunny ears flower, pouring rain with another wild thunderstorm, Heart of the Wolf in audiobook! and Billionaire Wolf for Christmas–coming October.

This morning, I hadn’t set the alarm because I ALWAYS get up early. I wrote that my characters woke late. Well guess what? I woke later. 5:45 and I’m like, ack!!!!! I usually get up an hour earlier on baby day. So I was rushing around to get everything done that I usually do before she ends up here. And I made it!!! I soooo hope today isn’t another day that I feel I need a do-over!

Growing the Garden…Where???

Early Girl tomatoes starting to ripen…yum. Esperanza dies back every year, but it’s finally starting to flower–the pretty yellow flowers. The fairy garden of roses, marigolds, coneflowers, and crepe myrtle soon–and a smudged version (Topaz Studio–free). And garlic growing where? In the fridge, where else?

Twelve-thousand words left on word count on SEAL Wolf Surrender and I’ve been working on Patriotic Patric bear. Hope to have him done today to ship tomorrow. I have a problem though. The lady who bought him doesn’t use email. Which makes it hard for me to keep in touch with her. She sent me a snail mail letter and is interested in several more bears. But how can I correspond? My printer is a laser black and white printer I use for printing out my mss and re-reading them. No color. So I can’t send her photos of the bears that she might want. Phone reception is awful. When I talked to her–as she’d lost me–I’d moved twice, but the phone kept cutting out on us. She sees them on the internet, so she does do that, but…

I love the advent of the internet. As soon as it came into our area in a small town in Oklahoma, I was setting up a website for my bears and received orders from all over the world. I used to sell my bears to stores that would carry them, and take them to craft shows. But it’s sooooo much easier updating photos on my website and showing what’s now available there!

Okay, I’m off to write some more on the story. I’ve been filling in the gaps, places where I stopped and went to a scene further in the story because that had come to me next. For me, writing all my scenes in order can mean not writing scenes–just getting stuck. So it’s better to jump ahead in the story, then come back later to fill in the transition scenes.

Messing Around with Macro

macro-garlic-grass-seedsThis is a little seed pod on thin strands of garlic chives. I found some tips on working with macro, so played around with it a bit.

macro-coneflower-900-003Macro coneflower emphasis on yellow buds on this one.  I still want the center buds. I have to hand hold the camera to get this close though and for the best shots for macro, you’re supposed to put it on a tripod.

So I’m rethinking Double Cougar Trouble and put it on hold because I want to get it right and not have to rewrite major portions of it because I changed my mind. And I just got edits on SEAL Wolf Undercover, so need to begin work on that. And I shipped off the last bear order, which I finished up yesterday. And I finished up two more bears to display for Halloween.

So it’s back to the books for me. 🙂
