It’s Not an April Fool’s Joke–I’m Home!

So I feel a little like my dogs. The groomer shorn them so they were clean when I got home. But they’ll grow out their fur quickly and I need them clean because my immune system is so compromised.

I’m eating better, sleeping better, getting way more exercise. I feel great. But soon, I’ll be back on another chemo cycle. Hopefully, my blood counts will be higher when I do my next bloodwork. And hopefully I’ll handle the chemo better than I did the first two weeks on them. I went into remission in two weeks though and that was amazing.

When I came home, I got to see the grandkids, we all wore ND95 masks, the only ones the doctor recommended. They have them on Amazon now in all kinds of colors and they’re much more breathable and comfortable. Then I took my puppies home, and have been doing tons of laundry–even of other things like the dogs’ bedding. A house cleaner cleaned my home, so it would be much less dusty.

And my flowers have bloomed in profusion, more than I have ever seen before as if welcoming me home. I’m off to feed the birds for the first time in 5 weeks, so I can enjoy their chatter at the feeders. And then, I’m back to the books!!!

Have a great day!! Hope yours is as glorious as mine.

Tanner and the Shoe

He used to be a shoe and sock thief. He never chewed on either, but would carry them into his bed. Now he only steals socks. I tell the grandkids when they take off their shoes and socks, to put their socks on the couch or he’ll steal them. I find them in his crate, his bed, if he goes outside, he’ll drop them out there. He just likes to carry them around. Crazy little dog.

I’m off to take care of my grandson. Back to potty training.

Hope your day is super great!!!

When Dogs are Sick…

They’re like little kids. They can’t tell you what’s wrong, though you know something is. Tanner didn’t eat his food, and here’s Tanner trying to eat it. So I gave Max his food a couple of more times, then he slept. He went out every time that I took them out. He was moving around just fine. But he wouldn’t eat. My dogs tell me when it’s time to eat whether it is or isn’t. They are chow hounds.

Then he finally ate and was fine. So I guess he just had an upset stomach. He’s been fine since that happened on Friday. But it’s worrisome when your pet becomes ill. He and his brother are 10 this year.

Clear skies. Chilly this morning. Have all kinds of writing plans. I’ve got an idea for a fae story, but I’ve started on a medieval wolf story. I have other stories finished I want to revise (but they need major overhauls–old formatting with really early, early, early writing programs and my writing has improved sooooo much from when I wrote those that they need to really be rewritten–which I’ve been doing from time to time…) and so I’m at that crossroads. Which story do I jump into? A new book? An old book? A partially written book?

I’m always excited and undecided when I have to decide which next book to write. 🙂 Is a character calling to me that he or she wants their story written? Or are my readers? Either works for me!

I have several painting projects for outdoor stuff to do. All my wrought iron furniture needs to be painted. My problem is that I can’t find a mask that can keep the fumes out. So I do a little panting and then have to stop. And I have several gardening projects started and need to do several more. Never a dull moment, while I write this and watch the doves and sparrows come in to eat at the feeders.

Hope you have a decisive noteworthy day!

What’s Up?

Max and Tanner waiting for lunch. 🙂 But I had to take pictures of them first instead.

Getting a little farther on the story. Wish I had gotten even further!!! Kind of stymied.

Another cold day! Next week some of the days are warmer but we’ll have a lot of rain.

Hope you’re having a great day!

Happy Christmas Eve!

My dogs with me while I’m making teddy bears. 🙂 They will sleep there, but if I move at all, they’re alert. They won’t be left behind. So I grabbed the camera from my sewing machine and took a shot of them watching me, wondering what I was up to.

Today, my granddaughter and I are making 7-layer magic bars. Yum. I put them in one of my recent stories and I haven’t made them in years. Then we’re going over to have Christmas Eve dinner at her place and then the next morning we’ll have Christmas here.

Okay, off to put my bear supplies away for a while. I have 3 bears made up, need to make up 2 more and finish these 3 also, but it’s time to clean up for Christmas!

Hope you all have a great time over the holidays! It’s still freezing here! And yes, it does feel like Christmas! 🙂

It’s All Black and White–Photo Art

So the challenge was to have an essentially black background and add white to it. Of course my black and white dogs were up to the challenge. I did consider a black and white chickadee but I used it for another challenge.

I managed another 3,000 words yesterday–yay! And got a better sleep last night. Little one will be here any minute, so fed the dogs, birds, got the garbage out. And getting to my blog before she gets here and I don’t get to it for hours!

I’m only 2,000 words behind. Yay! If I can get a 1,000 today after she leaves, I’ll only be a 1,000 short, since days I have her are free writing days. Sometimes I can’t get any done at all.

We plan to walk, read books, do some workbooks, maybe make cupcakes and play on the splashpad after a nap, and that should be our day.

Hope you all have a lovely one!

The Sock and Shoe Thief

Tanner is such a nut. Here he is as a puppy. You can see his chew toy in the background while he’s got my shoe in his mouth. I used Topaz Labs simplify to create the oil painting look. Thankfully, he only hoarded shoes and socks, never chewed on them. He quit hauling off shoes when he was a puppy, but he still grabs socks if he finds any lying around. I had to train my granddaughter–who always takes her socks and shoes off at my house–to put her socks up on the coffee table or on the couch so he doesn’t grab them and take them to his bed. Every once in a while, I’ll see him with one in his mouth. The whole thing in his mouth. She has little socks, but still….

Woke to wild thunderstorms this morning. It shows like 11% chance of rain. About the time I have to run out, we’re supposed to have heavy thunderstorms. Maybe it will clear out by then or come later. The weather has been so unpredictable. Heavy chance, then no rain. No chance, and heavy rain.

I reached the end which is still not the end of Billionaire, but at least I made all the paper edits and now need to make the changes on the mss. Then I need to finish the book! It all depends if I can figure out the ending! I really hope to have it done this weekend.

We Survived the Weekend!

Other than one of the corgis being sick all weekend, which meant cleaning up diarrhea in her crate, two mornings in a row, the floor, and washing all the dog bedding and her, and the floors where she tracked it through the house, other than the other corgi throwing up in the house and leaving a present in my bedroom, and one of my dogs throwing up on the patio, and other than my granddaughter and I being sick still, it was a great weekend!

They look so adorable, it’s hard to believe they can be such a mess. lol They’re all very lovable.

I actually got 8 hours of sleep yesterday, miraculous! Not this morning. I was sick again. ugh. She and the dogs went home last night. Nice and quiet. My dogs went to bed early and I played my game. Oh, and I did edit more pages of Vampire Redemption. I tried to write, but with 4 dogs and one toddler, impossible.

But she was really good the whole weekend, and we took a 2-mile walk yesterday because we felt better. She didn’t miss her parents, knew they were coming back for her and that was my biggest worry. And getting her to sleep so I could sleep some! At her young age, it’s iffy, but she does spend a couple of days a week with me, so she’s used to being here. And naps and nighttime? We had a routine, and it worked!

So I’m off to write because Friday I didn’t get my word count, too sick, and I have to get it today!

Hope you’re having a great start to the week!

More Edits!

Just when I think I’m free and clear to do my own thing…

I finished editing Cougar Halloween Mischief, and am formatting it for publication today and publishing it today….Yay!

But on top of the rewrites they want me to do on Red Wolf Christmas, they sent me edits on Night of the Billionaire Wolf. *sigh* I’ll probably work on that one first. That’s second edits, so it’s not as bad, usually. I haven’t had time to look at it. Still thinking on how to make that other scene more important in Red Wolf Christmas.

I have so many books I’ve finished and am revising from time to time, and so many I’ve written partials on, I’ve been revisiting them. One time, I took two stories that had the same feel to them and combined them and I had my book. I did that with one of the YA vampire stories I’m working on. I loved both vampire stories, but combining them (Night of the Vampire, book 3) and making them fit the first book in the series (Kiss of the Vampire, book 1 out now) was even better. Now I have nearly 14,000 on it, but it’s the 3rd book in the series. The 2nd book is at 9,000 (Bite of the Vampire). But I want to keep working on both of them when I have time and finish them up finally. At least I have covers for them. There are 4 male teen vampire princes though in the Blood Moon Series. So that means I’ll need to write one more for the 4th prince.

Today, we’re pumpkin carving at my daughter and SIL’s, and she brought my granddaughter over to play with me for a short while yesterday. I haven’t seen her since Wednesday last week when I broke my toe. Even with having her over yesterday afternoon, I had to put my foot up so she couldn’t step on it. We kept telling her Grandma hurt her toe and she kept wanting to touch the booboo. Ack! I still can’t get a boot on, too bruised and too much pressure on the toe. But I was thrilled to be able to see her and she was likewise. Nothing better than toddler cuddles.

Up at 4 am, so off to begin the process of getting Cougar ready to publish! Yay!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Ugh, Picture Time Again

“Okay, which is my best look, side view, or head-on?”

“Tanner, don’t encourage her. Maybe she’ll go off and take pictures of flowers or something.”

“I like getting my picture taken, Max. I’m very photogenic.”
That’s my silly dogs for you. I keep telling myself I need to take treats out to capture their excited looks and not their bored looks. But I forgot. It was really windy, and their hair kept flying in front of their faces. Part of Tanner’s ear flew over his eyes when I took the one shot. I should have just taken a picture of all the hair in their eyes–sometimes the shots that are the most fun are the ones that show the real story.

The good news is that I think I came up with a story idea for the novella. I think. I just have to figure out how to write it. And I managed getting 500 words on my Wolff story, so I had word count, since I was 1500 ahead. And I finished proofing SEAL Wolf Surrender! Yay!

I’m off to keep after it. I’m not out of the woods yet. And I just got word I have some other books coming out on sale so I need to make up some graphics for that. Have a great day!!!
