Bad Squirrel

bad squirrel (771x800)He’s a bad squirrel because I say so. He’s tipped over the seed tray, which means my puppies will eat the seeds and then Tanner will get me up all night to let him out because seeds are not digestible.

But really, is the squirrel being bad? Or just being a squirrel? The latter of course. And that’s what happens with perceptions.

He’s colorful and adds beauty to the landscape. But how did he come to be a butterfly? He was a voracious, plant-eater! So in one form, sweet and beautiful and innocent. And in another–just as bad as the squirrel. Perceptions. Yet he is just being a caterpillar/butterfly.

Ruby Throated hummingbird text 648x528And then there is the ruby-throated hummingbird! Beautiful. Here he was feeding off the pentas flowers. But I will say that he’s very territorial. He chased off another hummingbird and he dive bombs me sometimes. lol But I can handle it. They’re beautiful! So see? Even if there’s a negative, I still see them as akin to fairies in the garden. Perceptions.

Kaleidoscope Butterfly Bush and Fighting Blue Jay and Woodpecker

Kaleidoscope Butterfly Bush–I love these bushes. All the other butterfly bushes sit there, no blooms, the one variety constantly plagued with aphids. But this variety has been a stellar performer. No butterflies, but it doesn’t matter to me. It’s just beautiful. I think this is the first time I can see a real kaleidoscope of colors. The other blooms on the other plants were all purple.

Funny thing is after they left, no one was feeding off it. What? The only time it holds any interest is when someone else wants it? Sounds like the puppies to me. lol

Whoops, missed the garbage. When did Wednesday turn into Thursday? Ever have that happen?

Onward and Upward!–Purple Flowers in the Garden!

kaleidoscope butterfly bush purple 012 (640x640)I’ve been waiting soooo patiently–NOT–to see what colors the beautiful kaleidoscope butterfly plant turned out to be. And yesterday, I discovered it has some purple flowers! I LOVE purple.

kaleidoscope butterfly bush purple 006 (640x427)In the picture at the bulb company, they showed a mixture of colors, so we shall see. Remember how they said a mixed columbine and I only have one color on all three plants, but that’s okay. It’s a double pink and really pretty.

Purple Magic Crepe Myrtle 002 (640x427)And I had to take a couple of more shots of the Purple Magic Crepe Myrtle before the blooms fade too much. The bright lavender is the true color, and then the bluish purple is when it begins to fade, but is just as beautiful.

Between a Wolf and a Hard Place is turned in! Working on edits to SEAL Wolf Undercover before I turn it in. And setting up the novella for Enchanting the Highlander. My story is Highlander’s Desire, and will be part of the anthology. 🙂

Okay, got to get back to work. I was thinking about leaving the wild grapes growing where they are. It’s nice to grow something that doesn’t struggle because it’s native. But, it might take over.
