Steampunk Bears are done. I have one more bear to finish up. I’m waiting on the Davidson Clan Fabric still. They had to reship it from Scotland because it never came. 🙁

I’ve been up forever, but with the new cover for Kiss of the Vampire, I had to change out the cover and the manuscript for all the book seller sites, and I redid the ebook into print book form, spent all day yesterday doing that, had to make the cover for the print book form–spent all morning doing that, and working up an audiobook cover–not sure if I can change it out–waiting to hear back from ACX on that, and uploaded the print version. Waiting on proof on that now.

And that’s what happens when you change out a cover. 🙂 <3 While it’s in process and before I proof and approve it, it’s unavailable for sale in print. But, the ebook is now available at all the sites with the new cover.

That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.

Upcoming Book 2

I’d asked the cover artist who had done a couple of other covers I loved if she could do a vampire teen cover. She wasn’t sure. So I asked the lady who has done my cougar covers, and then voila! I ended up with 3 I loved, hers, and the other two.

Soooo…what to do? Easy.

The Vampire…In My Dreams needed a new cover, and so this one was born.

New Cover

And I needed a new cover for Kiss of the Vampire, but it worked out beautifully to pick up both covers to create the series. And now with a cover, maybe I’ll get to it. The sequel is started. And so is the sequel to The Vampire…In My Dreams.

Off to work on Phantom Fae. I need to put The Vampire…In My Dreams in print also. 🙂

Still working with my beta reader on Call of the Cougar. She works, so that’s the only reason this isn’t already done. 🙂

Have a super great Tuesday. Sheesh, where did Monday go???

In with a New Era…Changing Names

I had two teen books that were under a pen name, because I didn’t want readers to get confused as to which were teen books and which were adult. BUT, teens were reading my adult books and adults were reading my teen books, and some didn’t know about the other. So when I began writing teen books after those two, I used my Spear name and I vowed that when I got my rights back to these two, I’d change them (The Vampire…In My Dreams, and Deidre’s Secret. I also had Ghostly Liaisons under my pen name, but the publisher closed their teen line a month before the book’s release, though it’s still showing up on Amazon as coming soon). I feel I’m ushering in a new era.
It is now available on everything but Nook, coming soon. I also will be working on the print version next.  I’ve thought about audiobook, but sales are really slow on some titles, and we have to put out quite a bit of money to produce them. You can do it with no money paid, then share royalties 50/50 with the narrator, but I’m the ultimate optimist, and so like with one author who did that and sold a million copies, she was paying the narrator all that money for seven years for a few hours work, when it can take the author months to write the book, the costs of editing it, making the cover, and all the promo we do, etc.
Not that I’d ever sell a million copies of any of my audiobooks, but you know, it’s a gamble. We NEVER know when a book will become a hit. Never. And that means being in the red on lots and lots of audiobooks for months and months and years. I have 21 audiobooks out now, 6 more in process.  And of those, only two are in the black, and two more will be shortly–a few months. The others? Years, at the rate they’re going. We just don’t earn hardly enough on the sales we do make, and sales aren’t as high anyway for audiobooks as they are for other versions of the books. And yet, some of the big hitters say it’s important to have your books in every format there is.
If I had unlimited money, I’d just do it. 🙂  So I’m waffling. Indecisive. 🙂 Don’t you hate it when you’re that way?
Love bites when a seventeen-year-old vampire and witch tangle.

A A Kindle Cover The Vampire in My Dreams 11072014 copy

Proving a guy is a vampire for the glory it will bring seemed like a good idea.  At the time.  Until he needs Marissa Lakeland’s help to fight the vampire who made him the way he is.  No problem. She’s a witch.  Witches can handle it.  But vampires don’t exist, and there’s nothing in a witch’s training that deals with a creature that doesn’t exist.  So using her wits, she’ll manage, right?  If the creature of the night doesn’t get her first.  As a centuries-old vamp, Lynetta doesn’t lose ever, and she doesn’t intend to now.

So I’m having the last of the windows replaced out front, right before Thanksgiving. I’m glad I’m doing this piecemeal. What a mess everything is again and I just had cleaned up. Hopefully, they’ll get everything done today, and I can begin to really clean and decorate for the holidays.
I don’t do a lot of Thanksgiving decorations because lately, I’ve been visiting my son or my daughter for Thanksgiving. Talk about ushering in a new era. In the past, I thought I’d always be making the turkey at my home. 🙂  I’ll show off more later. I have metals turkeys and a wooden turkey. Don’t remember when I got some of these things, but it’s fun having something that’s unique.

I finished proofing both The Vampire…In My Dreams and Kiss of the Vampire. Still working with the beta reader on Call of the Cougar. And that means it’s time for me to get back to Phantom Fae, and that means I’m back to having word count goals.

I also had only one bear left to make, a Dragon Bear, but now have 2 more Steampunk Bears to make. 🙂 So trying to get those done before the kids come in next weekend.

Have a super great Sunday!

Redoing Covers!

The Vampire in My Dreams Book Template 3D 11072014 copy

I got my rights back! So I had to have a new cover made for the book. I really like this and now I have to go through and reread the book, make any changes I want and republish it.

What do you think of the cover?

I also have another book series that I’m having the covers redone on. I haven’t given her the title names, etc so when I can do that, I’ll show those off.

Evelyn Lederman posted this of us at dinner:
At Readers & Ritas. Sat at dinner at a table sponsored by Terry Spear. This is my 4th conference where I have been able to hang with her.

Full Moon

Full Moon

So I was signing books for one of my table guests, Annie Slasher, and Louise said she didn’t want to interrupt, but there was a huge full moon out. So I ran outside to take pictures, and another of my guests, Maria, brought out the stuffed wolf to howl. Hey, we were having fun. What can I say???

Time to run. I’ll be having an author chat with readers at 10:30, lunch, talking about: How Series-Ly Do You Take Yourself at 3, and then a signing at 4. 🙂

Off to get ready for the day.

Have a super great Saturday!

vampireinmydreamsI loved this review too, by Jonathan Thurston!! for: The Vampire…In My Dreams! “The steamy, masculine vampire… the far from confident, pretty young girl… Familiar elements? Not in this thrilling novel. Terry Lee Wilde makes a stunning addition to the realm of young adult vampire literature by incorporating witches into the mix.

Marissa, an average teenage witch, lives in the shadow of her best friend (and often role model) Kate, who believes the tall, dark stranger in town is a vampire. What unfolds when the mysterious stranger falls in love with Marissa sends all three of them into a struggle against knife-wielding human test subjects, vampiric pizza delivery guys, and an ancient vampire who has a claim on our studly hero and wants Marissa dead.

Terry Lee Wilde breaks a lot of tradition with this book by putting vampires back where they belong: in the realm of mystery, seduction, masculinity (as opposed to sparkling), and dare I say a little terror.

And I loved this review by Cassandra Lost in Books: I think this is like Star Trek meets a Fae realm.  It is a really cool idea.  I’m wondering if there will be more of either the Elven World or of the Overseers.  I will admit though as of right now I’d still want to slap the Overseers, but you will have to read or listen to see why.

Persephonice starts out kind of fragile with grief, but she becomes strong, and I really loved her as a character.  She encounters so much trouble and overcomes all the stereotypes that she has been filled with out races who are full of passion.

Dracolin is a fierce warrior, and he is not sure why he is so drawn to Persephonice.  There is lots of adventure and several men who need to be slapped, but it was a very enjoyable story 🙂 http://closkot.blogspot.com/2014/10/audiobook-review-shadow-elf-by-terry.html

How did it get to be Thursday already??? What happened to Wednesday?

Tile men are still here. They’re grouting today. And I’m off to work. Hope you have a lovely Thursday. I’m still wondering where my Wednesday went. Has that ever happened to you???

Copies of Audio Book Titles To Review

I still have some copies of the following audio books for readers to review. The bad part is that if you’ve already reviewed one, you can’t review another. I’ve asked, and they won’t budge on it.
But if you haven’t had a chance to listen to one of my audio books and would like to, just let me know.

Alicia has planned a vacation at South Padre Island with her girlfriend Cassie in forever. But just as they’re enjoying a day on the beach, here comes a dark fae to spoil their holiday, except only she can see what he truly is. Alicia has no idea how upside down her world can turn with a chance meeting with one of the dark fae from the royal house of the Denkar.

Alicia’s always known she’s different–that she can recognize the mischievous fae when they show up to “play” with the humans. Only now she’s faced with one highly annoyed dark fae and she’s certain he knows the truth about her. She can see him, which means her life is forfeit.

Add to that, his sister arrives, who wants to play, too. And their mother, the queen of the Denkar, will want Alicia’s head, once she learns what Alicia can do.

And all because Alicia was attempting to rescue her friend, Cassie, on their beach excursion at South Padre Island, from the wicked fae. Now, Alicia has really gone and done it–and she’s thinking she should have let the fae have his fun. Her friend’s broken heart would be a lot easier to deal with, than Alicia losing her life.

But it is too late for regrets. As soon as she threw the soda at the dark fae’s chest, she had declared war on the fae. And he is happy to take up the challenge.

Would you???

Have a super Tuesday! Hope to have lunch with my daughter-in-law who has just come in from a visit to my son in Japan while he’s flying in the AF out there, and then she’s returning to Nebraska and he will also soon. He’s taken up scuba diving and I’m thinking, hmm, I’ll have to pick his brains for a SEAL wolf story in the future. 🙂

Have any of you scuba dived? I love to snorkle! 🙂
