A Walk Through the Wetlands

I’m off to work with baby. But I loved taking a stroll through the wetlands, watching for snakes! And hoping we didn’t get lost. The leaves covered so much of the ground in the wooded area that it was hard to locate a real path. 🙂 I loved catching the sunlight streaming through the woods and didn’t realized I’d captured some sun flare. 🙂 <3

Hoping still to get to 30K on My Highlander today. Reached 28K last night. 🙂

Eight Bears in One Huge Enclosure

At the Big Cat Org, they were asked to take in a whole lot of bears rescued from private owners–abusive owners. So now they have a home where they can live out their days with good diets and they’re safe.

Who wants to sit on the stand and look for them? It truly is like Jurassic Park–where are the animals? They have bears/dinosaurs on the tour, right? We walked around most of the huge enclosure, looking for any glimpse of a bear, and finally we were rewarded. They’re not for show. This is their home. 🙂 <3 And we are the visitors there. If they want to be seen, they’ll gift us a view.

We saw three of the eight, and we were lucky. 🙂

Okay, I’m off to run a million errands. Hate running errands, even as necessary as they are, because they throw off my writing mojo. BUT, I will get it back. It’s too early to do anything right now, except feed the puppies and type up my notes from last night, and that means? I have a start on the writing, at least!! Hope to get to 28K by tonight. More, if I can. Then I have 42K left! Woohoo!!! Can’t wait to get to the 35K point. That’s the halfway point. And that means the downhill slide and wrapping the story up.

Triplet bear cubs–so the Zoo thought that Momma and Daddy were too old to have cubs. What did they know? Where there’s a will….

I kept thinking my next release is Flight of the White Wolf! It’s coming in May, so a little time to do the promo blogs. Then All’s Fair in Love and Wolf (the Silver Town Wolves), cover is done, waiting on approval, and Billionaire Wolf Christmas (Oct), cover not done yet.

And I need to come up with my next 3 titles for Sourcebooks, those for 2018. I keep forgetting about Heart of the Wolf coming out in January!!!

A new novella, Night of the Wolf, is included in the re-release. I reworked a scene and made some changes throughout in Heart of the Wolf. When I was asked to offer excerpts that were family-oriented, I was having a hard time. It’s sexy, it’s wolfish, and it’s romantic suspense. It’s not a book for kids. 🙂 But I did the blogs and so I’m back to focusing on My Highlander.

My goal is to reach 25,000 today on My Highlander. My puppies are telling me that before I do anything more at the computer, they want to be FED.

White Tiger and Soldier Meerkats

I have to say that some of the reason I was able to capture so many beautiful pictures was that the Fort Worth Zoo was truly beautiful. With gorgeous settings, hand-painted backgrounds, and active animals, I was really fortunate. This tiger had a lovely enclosure to explore, waterfall and all. He/she was up above when I captured the first shot, but moving down below in the next photo and the background/foreground of the woods and rocks and leaves made it magical.

So I’m up to 12,000 + on My Highlander. I was supposed to have that by today, so doing great! NaNoWriMo encourages writers to write 50,000 words in a month during November. To get daily word count, no matter how many words that is. 100 words? You nailed it. So yesterday was one of my “off” days, meaning I didn’t have to write anything, having had to take care of grandbaby all day, but I managed to get 3,000 words last night. See? I just need to challenge myself sometimes. This makes me even more accountable.

Before I began to take care of my granddaughter, I would write 2,000 words a day at minimum, so 50,000 words in a month was no problem. I’d normally make much more. I want to get 3,000 again today. I have nothing else I HAVE to do, so maybe more. The problem is getting stuck. If I get stuck on where I’m going with the story…then word count won’t come. Leaving the story at a cliff hanger helps me to get started though first thing, and I have a great cliff hanger for myself this morning.

One puppy is curled up on my lap, the other asleep on the floor. They both want to eat, but they’re giving me a break, so I’ll write until they won’t let me, hunger pangs winning out. 🙂

Here are some of my favorite Meerkats. The one was at Disney World, the moody ones at the Fort Worth Zoo, and the bottom ones in San Diego Zoo. It’s not so much the animals that appealed, though they are adorable, but the settings and the interaction. The ones at the San Diego Zoo were moving around a lot, but I managed to capture that shot of the two of them. And there were more at Disney, but all in hiding, while the one stood as the sole soldier sentry.

Red Tailed Hawk and Pelican

Beautiful birds! Hawks, as predators, are always watchful. The pelican, ah, he’s got to take care of a biting insect. 🙂 <3

I managed to reach 9,000 words on My Highlander, so moving right along. Today the grand-baby will be occupying my time, but when she’s sleeping or watching a little TV, I might manage to get a little more writing done. 🙂 Definitely hope to once she goes home.

Off to get ready for the baby. It got hot here again, argh, 86 yesterday. It doesn’t feel like Fall, November!

NaNoWriMo and Pink Fountain Grass

Okay, so my romance writing chapter is doing NaNoWriMo, writing 50,000 words in a month, which is what I should have if I keep after my word count for My Highlander. I finally turned in Billionaire Wolf Christmas yesterday, so got to write on My Highlander.

These are pink fountain grasses next to crepe myrtles, love how they lose their bark and are so pretty–the feathery pink grass was covered in sunlight, shadows, and water droplets. 🙂 <3

Off to write. Hope you see some beautiful sights today!
