Red Roses and Christmas Lights!

I was trying to get more of a blurred bokeh effect, but to do that, I would have needed to bring the roses farther away from the tree. And then there would be too much other stuff, walls, particularly, because my tree is narrow and you’d lose the light effect. 🙂

So I used Photoshop to blur the background a bit. I used Gaussian Blur, that way the background is softer and the flowers more noticeable.

I’ve been re-reading and revising older stories and partial stories until I can figure out a plot for the next white bear story!

Avelina’s cousin warns her that the storm sank a ship and a warrior lays on the shore, badly injured, but armed. Armed with a sword of her own and with her wolf companion, Avelina finds Quinn and rescues him from the incoming tide, but now she must hide him from her kin before they learn he planned to steal her cousin away. If he survives his injuries and her kin, he must deal with his traitorous brother before it is too late.

Baby’s First Christmas

My computer is super sluggish this morning and keeps hanging up. I’m trying to move some photos to another hard drive to see if that works, but 1 hour and 20 mins are remaining and baby will be here any moment.

These are some pictures I took of our Christmas, baby’s first. I want to do some composites with her so once my computer isn’t so sluggish, I can work on it more! She is totally clueless about Christmas, and isn’t that nice!!!

I’m playing around with the Countess and the Wolf. It’s a book I wrote some years ago, so formatting and my writing have improved and I need to update it. But also, I’ve always wanted to write the historical aspect of werewolves in the Highlands and so I have maybe 4 of these books that I’m revising to add a wolf perspective to fit in with my contemporary Highland wolf stories. Sometimes, it’s easier just to write a new book. But these are a lot of fun too.

My Highlander’s print version is being reviewed and actually, just came back. So I need to read it through again, make sure it’s ready to go!

In the meantime, I’m still trying to figure out what to write for the next polar bear shifter book. The other actually came out this past January. But I’m re-reading it to remember the characters and maybe come up with an idea!

Even Star Wars Needs a Christmas

My son and his friend in a Star Wars confrontation. And I went to a fun party last night where the hostess is into all things Star Wars. I asked if I could take pictures because it was so cute. You notice even Darth got a couple of Christmas packages. There is still some good in the world.

I try not to be political on my blogs, but I hope you are in league with the Rebel forces….

Okay, politics aside, off to finish proofing My Highlander’s print version.

Little does Clara Hart know that when a cute Arctic wolf pup bites her, that it would lead to finding love. When Clara and Owen Nottingham lock eyes, while in their wolf forms it’s kismet. Two years after Clara’s bite and that anonymous, yet enchanted encounter with Owen, fate brings the two of them together again. Although this is the first book in a spin-off series, readers might want to check out LEGEND OF THE WHITE WOLF. LEGEND OF THE WHITE WOLF is about Owen’s pack members Faith and Cameron.

Gingerbread Houses and More!

Talk about being in a world of fantasy. It was incredible what the Cafeteria Staff of the Spring ISD (Independent School District)–which means all the schools from elementary schools through high schools–came up with–unique, fun, and creative. The theme was to include Ellie, the Borden cow.

I took these with my cell phone. 🙂 <3  And they turned out beautifully.

Changed the backgrounds, added some snow showers, and voila, the perfect little gingerbread town.

More to come, but need to work on My Highlander, proofreading and formatting it now.

Sunset Highlighting Fall Colors

I’m off to finish edits on My Highlander, and need to photograph gingerbread houses this afternoon! 🙂 Hope some will turn out.

I saw these trees had FINALLY turned and the sun was setting, highlighting them and I had to take a picture. 🙂

Telling a Story in Pictures

You can see what I’m doing today. Baby is talking to Tanner. Then she reaches out to pet him. When she pulls her hand back, he rests his chin on the box, and she smiles. She adores the havanese and they adore her.

I’m now putting her in the room where they sleep so she’ll nap better. They kept going in there to check on her. So I put them in their crates nearby to nap too, and everyone’s happy. When she woke the first time, she looked up to see where she was, and saw Max in his crate nearby, Tanner a little further away, and for the first time she didn’t cry when waking from a nap. She’s sleeping again, so we’ll see if this is a success, but both times, she’s slept for about an hour instead for a few minutes. So that part is definitely a boon.
