Finished the cover for His Wild Highland Lass for the audio book version. And I need to make the one for Dawn of the Jaguar.
Finished these two little bears. I finished the one when it was too late to go outside to take pictures so she got to sit on my Christmas tree. They’ll be going home soon for Christmas.
Have a Highland bear to make–Bruce–and I just received a query for another Starbright Midnight Delight bear.
I also managed to write a thousand words on the Highland book. I’m not sure what I will call it. Need to make up my mind. 🙂
And I’ve contracted 3 more books with Sourcebooks–Kayla Wolff’s story, Grant’s other Highland brother’s story for Christmas, and Roxie Wolff’s story for New Year’s. Now, Kayla and Grant’s brother’s stories are for 2023. I’ve written and turned in the books for 2022. And Roxie’s is 2024 in January or thereabouts.
But in the meantime, I’ll also be working on other stories around them!

I’m off to embroider Bruce’s paws and make his sash and bonnet! And type up my Highland story’s words too. And make the cover for the Dawn of the Jaguar audio book. It turned cold here. Yay! It feels great. It feels weird to be hot and muggy in December even early in the morning!
So I hired a narrator to narrate the audio book for His Wild Highland Lass. Hopefully, I will have more done with her if this one works out well. Love the Scottish brogue and she really is from Scotland. Two of my early titles were with a publisher and I have the rights back so need to do the audio books again.
I could listen to a Scottish brogue forever.

It’s been too long since I’ve written a medieval Highland romance. I have two stories started and two Highland wolf medieval stories started too! And Bear in Mind is on it’s way, contemporary bear shifter story. I just need to settle down and pick one to finish.
I’m also listening to narrator auditions for Dawn of the Jaguar. I love two of them, so trying to decide which to go with.
It’s hot again here–84 yesterday, supposed to be 32 this weekend, but going back up next week, so unpredictable weather! I’m still picking tomatoes from the garden and the azalea is in bloom again!

So back to the real world! Little one and I are sorting through old pens to see what is working and what needs to be thrown out. We make a great team. lol And it’s something that she was excited to do. Otherwise she was too tired to do anything when she first arrived. That perked her right up. We were going to make sock snowmen but I didn’t have one of the items we needed. So we’ll make them another day.

I was reading over a Highland book I’d started. And adding to Bear in Mind yesterday, shipped two bears and have two left to finish up. Yesterday we went to Spring ISD kitchen managers’ gingerbread houses. So many were so cute, it was hard to decide which was the best! My granddaughter said they were all great!

I started making the prefab Gingerbread houses with my granddaughter when she was 2, so here’s a Gingerbread doghouse at 4! Her family has corgis, one that looks just like this one. 🙂 I even wrote about a vet who makes gingerbread doghouses at her vet clinic, all of doggy treats and one lucky dog is the annual Christmas winner. lol
Okay, we’re busy doing painting, taking walks, taking pictures, not sure what she took pictures of, organizing drawers, etc.

I redid all the print book covers for the demon series and they’re all available now. I finished working on a White Bear Series, book 3 novel, though it will be a while before I get to writing it. Sometimes having a cover gives me an idea. Now I want to redo the first two covers typography so they’re more uniform. 🙂
Right now I’m working on Bear in Mind, Grizzly Bear series, though if I get stuck, no telling what I’ll write on next. With all the bear orders I’m getting–I have another large Starbright Midnight Delight bear I’m working on for an order, and another Amethyst bear that I received an order for–that I need to concentrate on them because they’re Christmas presents and I want to make sure they get them in time.
I’ve promised for years to write the last book–Emerald Isle of Mists in the Magic of Inherian series and so it’s started, but not sure where to go with it. I think I have 2,000 words on it. I have 22,000 words on Bear in Mind. I wish the stories would just pop into my head and just fly through my fingertips and there, I have it! But it doesn’t work that way. I have to think! 🙂

I finished all 4 of these yesterday. Now the sold bears and another bear need their paws embroidered.
Shipping cost has gone way up since October, but I’m not charging for it. Hopefully, it will go back down in January–like they said it would. Even shipping a book costs $2.00 more per book in the US. It’s awful. And prohibitive to send Overseas. Even shipping to Canada is outrageous! I shipped an audiobook to a fan before this surcharge went into place and it was astronomical! I’ll have to send books in January, hoping that it will have gone back down in price.

Teaching little one to hand sew a bear. Just so you all know, I put the needle in where I need it and she pulls it out the rest of the way. She was also helping me to tighten the bolt and nut joints on the jointed arms and legs, and stuffing them. She LOVES helping me to put things together where she can tighten bolts and nuts and such. A lot of the bear work is done on the machine, but then certain parts need to be hand sewn. This is an ear that I need to sew the end of before it is hand sewn on the head.
I learned how to do all this on my own because my mother didn’t care to sew. She had a lousy Kenmore machine that constantly messed up any sewing she attempted, so it was understandable. When I was in home economics in junior high, I learned to sew on a Singer and I was sold. But way before that, I was hooking rugs, and embroidering pictures. I loved creating handcrafted works of art like that. Eventually, I began creating the bears. Before that, I made dolls and bunnies.
Working on 4 little bears here. Two are for bear orders–the rainbow and the amethyst. The pink and the blue will have to find homes next!
I’m off to ship autographed books to my friend who sends them to troops Overseas during the holidays. And I have a birthday bear I need to ship today and sending two of the first book in the wolf series to get them started!
Okay, not in the royal way, but in the tooth way. 🙂 But I guess it can be a pain in a royal way too!
I was in PAIN all day. From 1 to 10, I’d give it a 100. I took tylenol, then advil and finally late last night, the pain eased. I have a mild ache this morning. But in 3 weeks I’ll have to endure it all over again. My original crown sheered off, soooooo it had to be done. I just have a temporary on right now.
I finished the little Greek bear and the Starbright Midnight Delight large bear.
I have two more bears to make. My sewing room looks like a whirlwind swept through it while I was looking for components and materials and patterns to use as a basis for the Greek outfit and now when I go to put it all away, I am organizing it better!!!!
My granddaughter is late coming here from the dentist. I’m sure her appointment will be a great one! And painless!
I’m contracting for 3 more books: Wolff Bros Sisters (I know, right? My editor insisted the series was called Wolff Bros, though they 2 bros have 2 sisters)–so everyone wanted the two sisters’ stories next. One will be early in the year 2022 and the other January of 2023, and then the Christmas one for 2022 will be Highland wolf book. She didn’t want a jaguar one so I’ll write a jaguar novella also sometime next year.
I’m off to cut out the last bear. The other I’ve started to sew.
