Took the photo of the African elephant at the Dallas Zoo as she stood in water and added a different background.
I’m off to write in a few minutes. I managed 3,000 words on The Chosen Fae. We had wild thunderstorms yesterday afternoon and in the middle of the night. We really needed the rain, but the dogs were terrified.
Have a fun day!!!

I took the photo of the neighbor’s cat in my yard and then artified it with a jungle setting.
I haven’t felt like doing photo art in a long time, so I’m glad to be doing some more of it.
I also was working on typing up notes I had written in the hospital for The Chosen Fae back in March but never had time to type them up. So I now have 6,000+ words on that book. Woohoo!
I ran to the grocery store to get some things I needed and gas for trips to Houston.
We’re expecting more rain this afternoon. I wanted to walk, but it’s already too hot and muggy.
Hope you have a really cool day!!! Happy caturday!
Most of the time when I see a bear at the zoo, he’s sleeping. But this time he was up walking around so it was great to get a shot of him like that. If I’d have my mixer brushes on my laptop, and my Wacom, I would have done some mixer brush painting to play with his fur. I don’t have very many actual photos on my laptop because it’s mainly my work computer for writing. 🙂
My daughter is bringing me my one weekend day fix for breakfast–a cinnabon–my guilty pleasure, but I was told I have to eat protein at every meal, so I’ll have an egg too. We’ll visit for about three hours. I love her visits, but I’m glad when she doesn’t have to make that drive into Houston also every single day like she was doing to begin with.
An occupational therapist came by to see how I was doing. She checked off all the boxes to indicate I was doing the right things as far as mental health and well-being go. My daughter decorated my hospital room with family photos. I have autographed books to give away. She brought a tiger blanket for the recliner I work on and a cougar blanket for my bed. She brought soft tissues and toilet paper so I didn’t have to use their harsh products. I use my own soft towels. Her best friend sent me a beautiful purple blanket filled with encouraging words, and one of the nurses wanted it because purple is his favorite color. lol But it’s so soft and great for around my shoulders when I get cold.
She also sent me a coloring book and I love to color the pages of all the wild animals. Another friend sent a coloring book of fairies so I’ve been playing with those too.
MD Anderson has a great art shop for patients and caregivers. They give away free craft kits. I can’t stay down there to work on them, I have too many medications to take at various times and staff to see and I’m too tired. So I grab a couple of bags and work on them in the room at my leisure. I’ve been painting dinosaur figures for my grandson. He loves blue and green and so I’m trying to do them mostly in those colors. I painted a birdhouse and unicorn for my granddaughter and then they got some felt cat crafts in and I’ve been sewing them to together for her.
My granddaughter LOVES cats, so I was glad to see the variety they had, but her daddy is deathly allergic to them, so stuffed cats will have to do.
I made her a calico cat and sent it home the other day. Today, it’s a sphinx cat in pink, her favorite color. I love sending home little gifts to them whenever my daughter visits and they read me bedtime stories at night that I cherish. Children aren’t allowed in the adult cancer wards, though they want to see me. So our virtual visits are the next best thing.
A social worker came by to give the kids little backpacks with bracelets and teddy bears, a book about cancer, markers, and little chests to color as a way to cope with grandma being in the hospital.
I can’t wait to return home and give them all real hugs. 🙂
Hope you have a super fantastic day!!! I feel on top of the world.

I’ve had this photo forever, taken at Balboa Park, San Diego, but never shared it. I have her standing in the grass with her ducklings, but this is the one that really shows a family together…mostly. Come on, little Duckling. You can make it.
I managed to get to 37K yesterday on Protecting the White Bear so only 3K short of my goal. Monday and Wednesday’s are normally my off days as I’m taking care of my grandson and picking up my granddaughter at school. But I don’t have them Mon-Wed because of the holiday today and school closures because of winter storm warnings.
Maybe I can get back on track! I’m going to give it my best shot.
Have a great day!

I love purple flowers, so I took some photos when I saw this one. I also love irises, though I haven’t had much success growing them here.
I did not get to work on my story yesterday, but I did get to the grocery store, and we walked to my granddaughter’s school to pick her up and walk back. The weather is supposed to get bad, deep freeze again next week, so while it’s nice, we’re walking.
Have a beautiful day!!

Managed 3,000 words yesterday, hope to get as much today.
It’s cold, cold, cold out. Feels like 29. Sent the dogs out by themselves, too cold for me. lol But after I feed them, I’ll bundle up and go out with them.
Hope you are having a great day today!

My grandson and I went to the zoo over Thanksgiving and he thought all the animal statutes were so great. He was really excited to point out what they all were. Then we ended up at the lion exhibit and he said, “Oh, it moved!”
Yes, the zoo has real animals that move. lol
Off to write. I’m at 20K, planning 28K by Sunday and hope to get 30K on Protecting the White Bear!
Have a lovely day!
