The Merman and the Mermaid

The shark picture is mine. The mermaid and mermen from DAZ3D, the porpoise and some of the fish from pixelsquid. The merfolk are courting and everyone has to get in on the act. Do you see Dory and Nemo in the picture? I had to add them for my granddaughter. First, I had Dory, and immediately she asked where Nemo was.

When I first started blogging years ago, I thought I had to do this so seriously, so perfectly, so properly. Then I became me. Then the blog wasn’t a chore. I can be silly, or serious, or me.

Now that my public service announcement is over with, I woke this morning thinking, ohmigod, what day is it? Tuesday? I didn’t get any writing done, hardly and little one will be here tomorrow. Wait, no, it can’t be. Whew, it’s Sunday.

Maybe Groundhound Day is messing with me.

No, the Fae. Yesterday in the middle of the day, do you know what I heard? The dishwasher running. All. On. Its. Own. I ran over, touched it, it was vibrating, and then…it stopped. The Fae are DEFINITELY trying to get my attention.

Alright, already. I’ll write another of your books. But after….

So yesterday, I wrote 2,000 words on Wolf in Need. It will be the new novella in the 10th Anniversary of Wolf Fever. Yay!!

Only managed about 500 on Highland Wolf. Hopefully I’ll do better on it today. I think that’s why I woke up thinking I hadn’t done enough on my 4 days “off,” that means my 4 days of writing.

I’ve been cutting back the dead growth on pentas and other plants and the irises had to be nipped back. Still have to do that with plants out front today. The pentas are supposed to be only annuals. But some are still flowering. So I’m going to see if they come back this year. If not, I’ll just pick up some new ones. They’re the only annuals I plant, usually. I mainly just plant perennials that will come back every year.

Okay, I’m off and editing on Highland Wolf. And have to think of where to go next on both that and Wolf in Need for today.

ALL’S FAIR IN LOVE AND WOLF takes you back to Terry Spear’s the Silver Town Wolves series for another look at life as a shifter in a close knit pack. This book centers on how a case of identity theft can bring you the love of your life. Even though this was the first time that I’ve read this particular part of the series, I had no trouble following the lives of the Silver boys and their family and friends in Silver Town. Silver Town is a unique town in Colorado that is completely wolf run and owned. This book is the story of Jenna and Sarandon who weren’t looking for true love, but they find it in the most unusual way.

I always look forward to reading Terry Spear’s books. They are entertaining, funny, and show what true love can be like and how you just know when you’ve found the right person and wolf for you. I can’t wait to read the next book in the Silver Town Wolves series and any other shifter books her imagination can come up with. I’m just sorry I got such a late start in reading her books.

Still working on settings to make sure the fast moving baby isn’t a blur. She was hilarious yesterday. For the first time ever, she smiled when she realized I was setting up to take her photos, ie, bringing in the soft box into the kitchen to try and have better lighting for the first time. But what was so funny was she came over while I was crouching down to look at the pictures on the camera! She’s going to be like Tanner, the black havanese, and a photo hound. lol

Anyway, she was pointing at herself on the camera viewer. So then I was sitting on the floor to get shots of her at more her level, but she kept crawling toward me fast and climbed into my lap for hugs. lol I needed the settings on hummingbird speed. So those were a blur. I still need to get better about getting the right settings as her hand is slightly blurred in the picture with Tanner.

So today, we’re walking a mile and a half for the Spring Independent School District student scholarship fundraiser and health awareness. It’s early, good thing, because it’s going to be hot. And then I’m fixing lunch for us. I started re-reading Her Jaguar Protector last night so I can turn this in on Monday. I’ll finish that today. Going to try to read one more chapter before I leave.

And tomorrow is a wild and crazy day for Mother’s Day. Baby baptism, so I will be taking lots of pictures. And Mother’s Day, and then I can relax, right?

Did You Meet Your Goals?

I did, and I didn’t, and I exceeded them.

I did the blogs I had to for promo, I picked up my daughter from the airport while security men were yelling at all of us that we had to leave by 5 pm!!!! They made me move when my daughter was just trying to get into the car!!! I had nightmares about that last night. Whoever knew picking someone up at the airport could create such conflict???

And I wrote on SEAL Wolf Surrender. Now, the good news is I wrote 4,400 words instead of 2,000. Which meant I didn’t get the edits started on Her Jaguar Protector. But by writing more on the SEAL book, I’ll have a day reprieve on word count to edit the other book. Which means I need to bulk it up a little more because I need more than one day to work on edits. And….I have 44,000+, which means I have only 36,000, on the downhill slide, and that’s always fun getting over the hump. Over halfway home!

Today, I have one goal: work more on SEAL since I’m on a roll, and if I get stuck, switch over and begin to do edits on Jaguar.

After the newsletter went out about the new release, I had questions from fans about if I’d have a new SEAL Wolf book out soon. Yes! It will be out next year, probably around May. The next book I have to write will be the Christmas release for next year and it will be about the Silver wolves again.

I’m off to get to work!! It’s cloudy, yay, and hot. Looking forward to some rain. It’s going to be 90 already.

I have just a couple of minutes before baby arrives and I was thinking, why do my release dates always fall on the day when the baby is here???? You know, it’s one of those thoughts when I’m trying to fall asleep and can’t. And then I remembered–because she’s always here on Tuesdays and that’s release day. *sigh*

I could have done this all last night, but then again, I was working on the other story, and I got the last story back to make minor revisions to! Which always messes up my mojo for the current story. I have to dive back into the last one, while promoting this one that I wrote a year ago, and still type up notes on the new one. Confused yet? And you wonder why I change my hero or heroine’s name midstream to one in another book. Well, maybe you don’t wonder, but my beta reader does. lol

More Macro: Water Droplets

Macro shots showing water drops and me taking a picture in them, a red rose and rosebuds, chives flowers. And baby sleeping on my lap while I was typing away on the story! I was determined to finish Howard’s story.

So I finished the book!!! Did I take a moment to celebrate? Nope. I have promotional blogs I have to do for All’s Fair in Love and Wolf! It’s coming May 1st. So I did all but one. I worked on it, but need to finish it up today. I have to see the tax accountant this morning, I have a jury duty summons for the first week in April and I need to get started on the next book. This is Brock’s SEAL wolf story, twin brother to Vaughn from SEAL Wolf Undercover.
