Baby Bear on a Rug

This was my first picture of the baby, and he’s a dream to work with. My granddaughter didn’t like her arms or legs confined. Forget swaddling. 

Well, the baby is a sleeper, so it was easy for me to dress him and redress him and dress him over again for pictures. Big sister adores him–so far. I took a few of the 2 of them. But last night, she fell out of bed twice, she said, and came to get me. The first time, I managed to get her back to sleep at 1, but I couldn’t sleep. About 4:30, I was sound asleep and she came in at 5:30, so that was the end of me trying to sleep. Then my daughter said they didn’t get any sleep. I’m off to get them kolaches this morning, me a chocolate donut, and little one donut holes. And then we’ll take turns taking naps. lol

I may take her again tonight, but this time, I’ll set the rocking chair next to the bed so she can’t fall out. I didn’t know what’s what was happening! We were watching a beautiful program about colorful animals in the wild and thoroughly enjoying it. She would stay up all night, but once I start brushing my teeth, she wants to brush hers and we’re off to bed. Then I was editing. I guess I should have been sleeping. lol

My SIL is getting his first COVID vaccination this afternoon, so I’m really glad for that. We’re not out of the woods until a whole lot more people are vaccinated. My DIL gets her second one next week, my son got his on Thursday.

Okay, got to get going.

No Hair Bow, Grandmom!

Baby was just telling me why the hair bow was a no go. When I showed her the picture later, she was laughing. But fake laughing. Like practicing. It was the funniest thing ever. Had me laughing so hard. I used overhead lights, sunlight from window, and one softbox light on the left of her.

The other photo is of the alpha wolf (darker), play fighting with his brother at The International Wolf Center, Ely. I’ll be going back there and hope I’ll be able to take some good pictures of them again!

Feeling better and then do a bunch of stuff and I’m wiped out again. And my teeth feel like they all need to be pulled this morning…again. Ugh. But at least I’m getting more stuff done. I spent all day yesterday taking care of baby and managing to get the teen demon trilogy formatted the day before, and the covers and books uploaded yesterday. They came back for final proofing today, so will be working on that next.

I’m still trying to come up with the opening for the new jaguar shifter book/Howard’s story. So I’ve been mulling that over. I know what her mission is and his mission is, but I have to figure out how they meet up and the conflict begins. 🙂

Dreaming of Swimming in the Sea

Her mermaid tail may be a little small, but she’s growing into it.

Autographed books at 1960 Champions, West Houston, Barnes and Noble! My daughter had to go there to pick up some books for a special literacy program for her school district for stories from around the world. I loved reading fairy tales from around the world when I was a kid.

So after school, I picked her up and I found some of the early rhyming books because my grand-daughter loves to hear me sing them. (Not that I can carry a tune, mind you. Thankfully, she’s so little, she doesn’t know any better and just smiles away.) Whenever she is bored, I sing her Bah, Bah Black Sheep, Row, Row, Row Your Boat, and Mary Had a Little Lamb. Couldn’t remember anything else. lol So now I’m armed with a big book of rhymes.

I’m still working on finishing Billionaire Wolf Christmas, just waiting on the last beta reader’s edits, and then approved All’s Fair in Love and Wolf cover, and working on My Highlander. But I see some beautiful clouds, so off to take a picture in the cold, cold weather.

Newborn Photo Shoots are…

Work. I knew it would be, but I was happy to do it.

This is my granddaughter, but since I was at her house all the time to help out, it was easier when she was a newborn.  I took these of her before and after the shoot since I was set up, before and after the grandma, momma, and newborn were here.

This baby wouldn’t sleep. I think she did for like two minutes, and then as soon as we tried to get her into a cute pose, that was it. She was fed, diaper changed, white noise, patting and massages, the room was warm, but….sleeping wasn’t going to happen.

But even so, we got some cute pictures. And then my daughter told me that another friend of hers is having a baby. They’ve tried for years and years. So….I’m on the schedule in about 10 months or so.

Did I get my writing done yesterday? Nope. Today is baby day….so, I’ll have to catch up tomorrow!

It’s been  raining again. Love it.

Baby Expressions

So Grandma and I had a grand day. Here I am talking away to her, or…sometimes I’d just put myself right to sleep. Grandma said she put on 5 miles walking me. Stroller walks, walk walks, she showed me the water fountain, the rainfall, and that was so cool.

We bounced to the music. She said it was her exercise, but I think she was making me sleepy.

But we had some good talks too. Can you tell?

And Grandma says: It’s time to finish up Cougar Undercover!

No April Fool’s!

My grandbaby was due today, but she came at 1:58 yesterday morning, so not an April Fool’s day baby after all.

 

And their corgis are happy to have an added member of the pack! They’re curious, just like wolves that are excited about the new pups added to the pack.

What with deadlines, turned in Flight, and working on proofing SEAL Wolf Undercover, new release on Tuesday with Between a Wolf and a Hard Place, and trying to keep up with the word count on The Bounty Hunter Gets Her Wolf, and helping out the kids and baby—and being up all night with them yesterday–it’s a juggle!

But all worth it!
