Okay, getting ready for baby. I bought her a small tent to use for her to crawl into and play and/or sleep in. She sleeps at one in her parents’ home. She’s always crawling under blankets and settling down, but not to sleep, so I’m hopeful.

I’m up to 14,000 on Day of the Wolf! Was doing edits late last night, probably won’t get much done today on it. But hopeful about that too.

We had no chance of rain yesterday, then 40% and it poured. Yay! There were water spouts near Galveston and Houston, but they said we wouldn’t get any rain, initially. They were wrong.

Okay, got to get ready….have a super day!!!

Wildlife at the Arboretum

When I think of arboretums, I think of flowers and other kinds of gardens. We saw a Japanese garden, hosta woodland garden, fern wooded garden, herbs, vegetable, and fruit gardens, shrub gardens, and tree gardens, ponds, and many different flower gardens, waterfalls, ponds, and bubblers, lakes, marshy swamps, and more.

But we also managed to catch geese (which I didn’t download, will have to do it tonight), chipmunks, squirrels, a DRAGONFLY! (I’ve been trying to capture one my whole trip), a wild turkey! (that was a surprise), a squirrel, a monarch butterfly on an orange coneflower, and koi.

We walked 5 miles at the zoo the day before yesterday, and 4 miles up and down hills in the heat and humidity yesterday at the arboretum. So we’ve been getting a good workout every day.

Dreaming of Swimming in the Sea

Her mermaid tail may be a little small, but she’s growing into it.

Autographed books at 1960 Champions, West Houston, Barnes and Noble! My daughter had to go there to pick up some books for a special literacy program for her school district for stories from around the world. I loved reading fairy tales from around the world when I was a kid.

So after school, I picked her up and I found some of the early rhyming books because my grand-daughter loves to hear me sing them. (Not that I can carry a tune, mind you. Thankfully, she’s so little, she doesn’t know any better and just smiles away.) Whenever she is bored, I sing her Bah, Bah Black Sheep, Row, Row, Row Your Boat, and Mary Had a Little Lamb. Couldn’t remember anything else. lol So now I’m armed with a big book of rhymes.

I’m still working on finishing Billionaire Wolf Christmas, just waiting on the last beta reader’s edits, and then approved All’s Fair in Love and Wolf cover, and working on My Highlander. But I see some beautiful clouds, so off to take a picture in the cold, cold weather.

Wildlife Walk with the Puppies

My son says this is around a 15 mile walking trail. It’s so neat to see things like this in other places–we walked nearly 3 miles, the puppies and my son’s dog pulling us, and then nearer the end, Tanner sat on his butt as if to say, “Enough!”

But they managed to make it the whole way before it got dark and we made it safely to the car before the zombies came out. Maybe I should have said vampires. They tend to come out at night. But it was so quiet out there, and except for a runner and a few bikers, it seemed more like a zombie’s world.

We had a nice breeze, and the sun was setting, so cooler, but it had been over 90 degrees. Really an enjoyable way to end the day. 🙂 <3

Book Signing at Barnes and Noble, Waco, Texas

Lovely time at the book signing, and if you can see in the picture (Debra Jupe’s, author to the far left), I had Kissing the Highlander, Phantom Fae, and Jaguar Pride available to sign. More autographed copies are still on hand at Barnes and Noble, so if you are looking for a great compilation of Highland novels, a fun fae young adult, or a hot and sexy jaguar shifter story, they are there!

I want to thank Lorelei for working so hard to make it a success, along with Ken, who set it up at the store. He was really wonderful and made it super special. Thanks to all our readers who made it to the store. Everyone ended up winning fancy chocolates and one won a Nook, and everyone received free drinks. Truly a wonderful time had by all!

We were at the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary and stayed for several days, saw ancient Native American ruins, an ice cave, volcano, and another sanctuary that had several Mexican gray wolves. I’ll be sharing when I can, but I wanted to post this for this morning. We were really roughing it. No internet connection, and no cell phone connection, which meant, NO GPS. Gas stations few and far between. But we had a blast.

Book Signings Coming Up!!

book signing Barnes & Noble book signing in Waco, Texas will be at 6:30 on May 22. The manager is providing sample foods and door prizes, including a Nook Reader!! I’ll have Jaguar Pride to sign, but if you live in the area and already have books you want me to autograph, please feel free to come in and I’ll sign them.  I’m sure they’ll have some other books available also already in stock. But if they don’t and you want me to autograph them, just ask the manager to get them and I’ll sign. I turned in A Silver Wolf Christmas edits, and have been working on She-Wolf.  But I was asked to participate in a book signing and the date and time was firmed up so I wanted to start getting the word out because Barnes and Noble is going all out with door prizes and such! So if you live anywhere in the area, be sure and drop by and say hi!
