Scene for Another Book

We had rain! Yay! 2 inches! Want more! Those are my dogs, and the black and white tuxedo cat looks like like the one I had for 16 years. I’d taken her in from the Kitty Welfare Society in New Jersey, a group of sweet ladies who fostered cats until they could find a home for them. She was the sweetest thing, talked to me, talked back to me, played with me. Loved her dearly.

Okay, so sometimes writing another book will prompt a scene from the book I was stuck on. Naturally. I mean, it has nothing to do with the other book, but I was making hot English Breakfast Tea, and there I had it! The new conflict I needed for Claiming the White Bear. Anyway, it’s the beginning and I jotted down the scene. But I also wrote a couple more pages of Cougar Magic late last night, so I’m staying on track. Though my daily word goal is 2,000, sometimes I set higher goals–like yesterday wanting to reach the halfway mark, then wanting to reach OVER the halfway mark. Now I need to start figuring out how to end the book. I want to get to 40,000 today, so that means writing 3,000.

So I wrote the polar bear scene to get me started on that book, but now, I’m off to type my notes from last night and get cracking. Except, the dogs want out again. Don’t they know how that interrupts my train of of thought? *sigh*

Unicorns, Babies, Fairy Worlds and the Real World

Sometimes my mind drifts to fairy worlds. I’ve got to get back to the real world of jaguar and wolf shifters.

In the one photo where baby is sitting by the unicorn, I changed the overall colors, added the foreground flowers and butterflies, painted the light rays and colors on the unicorn’s mane and tail and horn. On the second one, I loved the way the unicorn background was, so I added baby and a rainbow. My main effort is attempting to make baby appear to be part of the picture. She was actually sitting on the rocking horse when I took this picture. Momma was holding onto her, of course!

Oh  and I reached 15,000 words, 65,000 to go! Woohoo!

Playing with Baby

I got on the floor with her while she was crawling around and the next thing I know, she’s in a fantasy world. Yes, I know. An author’s overactive imagination!

She’s asleep, but on lap so can’t move.

I think my editor just called. I can’t move. *sigh*

Photomanipulation Fun

In the ladybug picture, I added two sky overlays. In the sleigh picture, I added my granddaughter, my havanese, the green bow on the sleigh, my Christmas tree, my mohair string teddy bear, extra snow, lights on the house, and the polar bear cub. 🙂

Now I’m off to run a million errands! And vacuum up pine needles again. Oh, and call about my ice maker. It’s making ice, just not dispensing it and the light panel on the front is only half lighting. It’s 2 years old. My old fridge in the old house was 15 years old. No problems ever. 2-year planned obsolescence??? Come on, manufacturers. You can do a better job than that. At least you sure used to.

Oh, and I got a speedlight so that indoor pictures aren’t too dark. But I need to figure it out still. Without speedlight and with. I’m not sure if this will cause people to squint. I tried with my dogs this morning, but I think Max closed his eyes. Just checked, nice lighting, shows his real color, if he didn’t close his eyes. lol

On NaNoWriMo, managed 1,000 words. Still haven’t reached 60K, but hope to today.

Dreaming of Swimming in the Sea

Her mermaid tail may be a little small, but she’s growing into it.

Autographed books at 1960 Champions, West Houston, Barnes and Noble! My daughter had to go there to pick up some books for a special literacy program for her school district for stories from around the world. I loved reading fairy tales from around the world when I was a kid.

So after school, I picked her up and I found some of the early rhyming books because my grand-daughter loves to hear me sing them. (Not that I can carry a tune, mind you. Thankfully, she’s so little, she doesn’t know any better and just smiles away.) Whenever she is bored, I sing her Bah, Bah Black Sheep, Row, Row, Row Your Boat, and Mary Had a Little Lamb. Couldn’t remember anything else. lol So now I’m armed with a big book of rhymes.

I’m still working on finishing Billionaire Wolf Christmas, just waiting on the last beta reader’s edits, and then approved All’s Fair in Love and Wolf cover, and working on My Highlander. But I see some beautiful clouds, so off to take a picture in the cold, cold weather.

RPG!

Okay, yes, I love Role Playing Games. I’m working on Divinity Original Sin and am like so many others who are annoyed that after building up my characters, I have a no-win scenario with immortal knights. So what is the purpose of equipment, spells, and training if I have to try and sneak past these guys???? When I’m not a rogue and sneaking isn’t part of my whole persona?

But I’m actually talking about a group who role plays my cougar series on Facebook!

And so they’re having a fun fall day festival and I made a couple of pictures for them.

Now it’s time to get back to work. 🙂 Billionaire Wolf Christmas beckons. I reached word count, so now just need to finish the story!

And it’s cool this morning, just like a real fall day!

Okay, having fun with photos, and spent a lot of time working on bears yesterday, but it’s time to get back to work–

Not that it’s coming anytime soon, but I’m writing about making snowman in A Silver Wolf Christmas, then have to go out and water in the 100+ heat. That shows how much of an imagination you have to have to be a writer when you’re writing about seasonal books out of season!

Austin Downtown

austin (640x573)I have a million and one things to do today–not that I’m going to get them all done, but I’m going to work on it, so I wanted to share a couple of pictures of Austin and then I’m off here and working! I realized I just had an audiobook pop up for final approval for the Mage of Monrovia also! So no time to play with pictures. Although I did anyway. 🙂

At least yesterday, I posted all my last blog blitz tour stuff and I made all the changes to Jaguar Pride that I needed to. Now, I have to reread the whole book and make sure that it all sounds right!
