Rooster in Charge, Taken at Brenham

Rooster in Charge, shot the photo of him at a writer’s retreat at a cabin in Brenham, TX where they had hens, fresh eggs, a silly old cat, deer roaming through the place, cattle, calves and goats. They also had a bird watching blind, a water feature and tons of birds to photograph. It was fun.

I haven’t gotten much writing done the last couple of days, so I’m going to try to get somewhere with it again.

I learned the cancer is still in remission BUT that they have new technology that is more sensitive to see really small cells and learned that I have a couple of mutations. Which isn’t good. But I’m glad they discovered it. They’re taking me off chemo for a month to try and get my blood counts up after reducing the inhibitor that keeps me from rejecting the donor transplant and then start the chemo again. The hope is when my counts are up, THEY will fight the mutations. Once I’m on chemo, it will knock my blood counts down again. *sigh*

Curved Horn Goat

I took the photo of the goat at the Dallas Zoo. I love their horns, but I thought it was cool that he has a backrest for them because they are so long.

I’m still plugging along at the book, getting 1,000 words per day. Would like to go back to 2,000 words a day, but just not getting there.

I planned to vote this morning for the candidates in the midterm elections, but ended up having something else I had to do first thing in the morning for the next couple of days. I probably will do it on Thursday. Friday morning, I’m having the dogs groomed. I’ve been combing them out daily, but they really need baths too and trimmed faces and paws. Right now, I get so fatigued that it’s hard to wash them, and I can’t ever trim them.

I’m off to work on stuff. Hope your day is lots of fun!

All Ruffled Up

I love it when birds fluff up their feathers, giving them a more 3-D appearance. The macaw was beautiful. Photo of the bird taken at the Dallas Zoo.

Finally pulled out my camera to take photos of the birds landing on the feeders. Everything was foggy and I was afraid it was my eyes because chemo can do that, but it was the window. lol. Cleaned it really well and now I can see the birds.

A big bird with a tiny fish in its beak. The next one will be bigger, I’m sure. This is just a snack.

We had two inches of rain yesterday during the thunderstorms. We had been under a tornado watch, then a warning, so it was good when everything moved into the Gulf of Mexico.

I’m a little over halfway done on the book. So off to write.

Hope when you catch the “big one,” it’s bigger than the crane’s!

Myna Bird in Hawaii

Myna Bird in Hawaii. My, what big eyes you have. The bird was so far away on this rooftop, atop a pillar, that I couldn’t tell what it was until I cropped the picture to show off the bird. Such a cute expression.

Well, I managed to finally write about 2,000 words yesterday. I think I had been experiencing chemo fog before that because it was a real struggle to come up with scenes. I’ve felt better the last couple of days, as far as fatigue goes, but the broken toe still really hurts. I think because I’m feeling better, I’m doing more, and the toe hurts more. *sigh*

Blood counts were up and down. But at least my hemoglobin is high enough that I didn’t need blood and my platelets are also.

Well, I have some good news. My initial biopsy results are clear. Waiting on the microscopic ones to come out in a couple of weeks.

Predator on the Lookout for Lunch

I love hawks, falcons, eagles. This one I shot at the Dallas Zoo.

Well, all my blood counts have dropped. I’ve been so out of breath and fatigued, but now I know why. We left at 6:30 am to go to MD Anderson, and then didn’t get home until 8 pm. I was so worn out. I had 7 appointments and thankfully, my daughter took me because I had to get a bone marrow biopsy. I’m so sore. I had to get platelets. If my hemoglobin doesn’t rise next week, I’ll have to get blood. They took 14 vials of blood from me. I’m already low on blood. lol
