Waterfall and Colorful Leaves

I love the sound of running water–streams, waterfalls, fountains.

When I had little one overnight, she has a sound maker–rain, waves–no, those are too scary. Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star worked. lol So for an hour while I made sure she was going to sleep, I worked on my book and listened to Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star…If I’d listened to the rain, maybe I would have been asleep.

We had wild storms last night, tripped three of my circuit breakers. So I go to start my teapot, no electricity. Our electric went out, but came on again a couple of minutes later. No internet, had to restart my computer. Now, everything’s working.

I’m working on the print version of Scepter of Salvation. When I put the ebooks up for sale, I never put the print versions up. Probably too many other deadlines. So I’m going to get this one proofed and up hopefully soon. I also need to do that with Vampire Redemption and Mage of Maldovia.

It’s hot and muggy here, but hopefully we’ll get some rain. We were supposed to get rain all week, so we were checking to see if we had a tropical storm bearing down on us from somewhere, but no storm. Just some micro bursts of rain every once in a while.

Hope you all have a great day and stay safe!

Wildlife and Dreamy Baby on the Riverwalk

Waterfall, Baby Dragonfly, Yellow Crowned Night Heron, Pink Crape Myrtle Flowers on the Riverwalk, Dreamy Baby, Sound Asleep Baby

Every morning I walked for four hours–or walked and stopped to take pictures. The baby’s pictures are a little dreamy, courtesy of the heavy humidity and my lens fogging up constantly. A little later in the morning, it wasn’t so bad. But first thing in the morning, it was a struggle to take a fog-free photo. I was thrilled when two baby dragonflies landed nearby, the one within inches of my camera. And the yellow crowned night heron juvenile gave me lots of photo ops too!

I finished 2 of the panda bear orders last night! And the edits on SEAL Wolf Surrender. Just need to read over the whole book today and then send it in. And I have another panda bear order to fill. Still have several more bears in process. But I also need to get started on the next wolf book–back in Silver Town! I’m working on Claiming the White Bear and Cougar Magic also. I’ve been trying to think of where I’m going to go with the Silver Town book before I really start it. And I need to write the synopsis for SEAL Wolf Surrender. I guess I’ll do that today too!

Off to work!! Have a super, picturesque day!!!

Exercising More than Just Once–and Photography Find!!!

I decided I needed to take one dog at a time to really train them to behave while I’m walking them. One barks, the other barks. They both pull. So I took just Tanner because even though he’s my barker, he does stop to listen to me. My goal was three-fold (I do better if I have lots of goals, lol)–well, 4-fold: Take a dog for a walk, get some exercise, retake pictures that didn’t turn out yesterday, and train said dog to behave while walking. Plus, I figure if I exercise, I’ll be more productive.

NOT happening. Why? I get home and I’m dying to play with my photos. lol But, I did write more last night, so maybe it helped. I don’t know.

But, I was so excited when I started my walk.  I made a real photography find!!! Not one, not two, but three otters were playing in the fountain pond closest to me. I couldn’t believe it!!! So, I took a ton of pictures. It was early morning, so I’m still fighting with how to set my camera, and I need to get some filters to cut water glare. I’m learning.

Soooo, some turned out, and I took a picture of the fountain again to catch the rainbow that I had wanted to catch yesterday.

I wanted to take a picture of a small waterfall and capture the blue flowers in front of it. So the waterfall ended up being this beautiful bokeh.

I took Tanner to the kiddie park, no kiddies there, so he got to sit on the playground equipment, but he was too interested in sounds around him to bother paying attention to me. 🙂

tanner-on-stairs-to-slide-900I have a guy coming over to look at the ancient 100 foot pine tree in my yard that had just died. Hopefully he can take it down before it comes down in a storm!

Have a wonderful day!

Bear Cave Much Better Place to Be

black bear (640x364) (2)It’s really important that I stay in my bear cave to finish the edits on this book. 70 pages to go. 130 done. BUT, it’s essential that I get some papers notarized, scanned, emailed, and fedexed. We’re under 2 flood river warnings and 1 flood river watch. The two are already a couple of feet over flood levels. I tried to run in last night to a post office to do the notary, but the roads were soooo badly flooded, I had to turn around, not sure I could even make it back. In retrospect, I wished I could have taken a picture, but I was too busy trying not to get hit or flood my engine.

I kept saying if they’d send the paperwork earlier, even a couple of hours earlier, we would have been fine. Nope. Had to send them in the middle of the downpour and by then, it was already too late.

So I’ve been trying to figure out another way I can get this notarized…a place nearer by will do it, IF they can even make it into work. It’s a non-essential type place so they might not. And IF I can even make it over there. We have continued rains for several hours. I can’t do anything until businesses open up at 8:30-9. So until then, I’m back to the bear cave while the thunder and lightning continues, and the rains keep coming down.

ducks and koi (800x733)The ducks are probably laughing when they see all these cars stopped, trying to figure out if they can make it on the flooded roads. Lights flashing, they sit there, not sure what to do. Try to make it? Stall out their cars? Wait the storm out? The storm and the flood waters are not going away any time soon. Maybe tomorrow? But we have heavy rains through the weekend. Tow trucks have been out in numbers, towing cars stuck in the floodwaters.

I had to turn around while I watched a couple of other higher road vehicles plow through the water, the wet stuff as high as their headlights. I have a Ford Escape, the new models lower than the older ones, so the water was up to my headlights before I even reached the point where the water was even higher.  I didn’t want to risk it. Vehicles riding lower than mine were in a real quandary.  Two Suburbans sailed past me, idiots, not because they could, but because they were driving 10 mph over the speed limit as if to say ha! They could do it. There have been tons of accidents on the highways this morning, mostly due to the wet roads and flooding.

So I have to figure out this dilemma and figure out how to get it done without drowning myself in the process.

Hmmm, it sounds like the stuff for stories.

waterfall (427x640)Have a super great day! Back to editing!!! 🙂

The Characters are Speaking to Me!

Yes, I’m not crazy! The scenes are appearing in my mind’s eye, and I have to write. Golden Fae is nearly to the end. I’m 4,000 words over word count. I love this when I finally know the truth. I know the reason for all the madness. I am all knowing. lol So before other things like real life clutter my thoughts, I leave you with a fantasy, though real, pictures of Scotland, but they are so beautiful, so majestic, so fantastical, that it’s pure magic. Do you see the magic in the world too?

heather creek (427x640) (3)bottm half of waterfall (640x427)

Scottish Thistle (2) (640x427)

Can you see the heather blooming beside the creek? See the water falling, smell the spray, hear the rush as it meets the pool of water down below? And of course, Scottish thistle. I will leave you to ponder it while I’m off to capture the next scenes in the book!

Have a super great day!
