Try, Try Again…

Sometimes you have to just keep trying and it works! This is one of my miniature roses that is doing great here!

Of course, I had to move to a new place to finally make it happen. For years, I got my mother miniature roses for mother’s day, the kind you plant in the ground for years of enjoyment. And at the same time, one for me, as a mother too. But they never made it. Not for me in Oklahoma and not for her in Central Texas. But here in the Gulf, they’re growing.

So never give up. Sometimes you just have to move.

I’m off to try and catch up, but I have the little one here and that can make it a challenge! Have a fun day!

This little spider decided to build from my rosebush to my fence and guess who walked through it in the dark with the dogs? Well, just me. Of course, I couldn’t see it, just felt it.

The next morning, I showed my granddaughter Charlotte’s Web.

I decided to go in a different direction on the book and I did the worst thing you can imagine–got rid of 3,000 words. Ugh. So I need to add them back with new material and catch up and that means writing 10,000 words today. In. My. Dreams.

Vicious Cycle

Okay, I figure this is like a vicious cycle–and the powers that be are plotting against me. Before I finished proofing edits on Silver Town Wolf: Home for the Holidays, I got the blog tour stuff I need to do for the June release. And I’m behind on word count on Billionaire She-Wolf because of having to stop to do this, be sick, and take care of my granddaughter on what is normally my day off. I had to make up for being sick on Monday and couldn’t take care of her.

See why I try to get ahead? So I won’t be behind on my writing when other stuff comes up. I also had an idea on changes I want to make to Billionaire, so I’m not sure how that’s going to affect the word count. Going down? I imagine so.

I’ve been trying to take a short walk in the mornings, so now I’m back and ready to tackle the word count day. I turned in the edits last night for Silver Town. Yay!

Okay, NOW I’ve Beaten the Bug!

It’s done! See, last time I said that, it wasn’t through with me. It was laughing it’s little green spindly head off at me while my soldiers were fighting it tooth and nail. And it was multiplying, getting out of control. And then it was getting weaker, losing the battle. Then it came back in short spurts of battle. But still, my troops were winning. Yes! And we won! I would like to say I was commanding my army against the invaders in such an exemplary manner that I truly was the reason for such good leadership and the win.

Maybe the banana and Gatorade yesterday helped. Maybe all the bed rest. Maybe just…hating to admit it…time made the difference. But yesterday I took care of my granddaughter, we walked, we played, I still am short of breath and feel weak, but no more stomach issues. Yay!

The bug is beaten! I want to do a million things I couldn’t before I got sick. I know I need to still take it easy, but, the bug is gone. (I hope.)

I HAVE to get my car safety inspected today so I can renew the car registration. I need to finish copyedits on Silver Town Wolf: Home for the Holidays so I can get back to writing on Billionaire She-Wolf. I need to shop for a mother-of-the-bride dress for my son’s wedding. Do you think anyone will notice if I wear the same one I wore for his first wedding?

Okay, I’m really off to get to work. Hope you are having a lovely day today. We have a misty rain, and I took a walk! Have a beautiful day.

The Virus was Annihilated!

At least I hope so. My granddaughter keeps bringing all this stuff home to me and usually, my immune system fights it. But the last two times, it couldn’t resist the allure. ugh.

I need to figure out what I can eat to get back my strength without irritating my stomach again.

I feel weak and shaky, but I hope I can eat better today and get my strength back. She will be back tomorrow. I hope she doesn’t give me anything else! And I hope she doesn’t get anything else!

I’m still behind on my writing because I suspect I will have her on Friday to makeup for not having her on Monday. Friday was supposed to be a writing day. But at least I feel better!

Okay, I need to feed the dogs, that are like, we aren’t sick, so feed us now!

I lost 42 lbs over the Weekend!

Okay, yeah, that’s an April Fool’s.

But I haven’t been able to keep anything down, and I know this is a stomach virus, not food poisoning. No one else was sick this weekend after we celebrated my granddaughter’s birthday. And she was sick with this one weekend, probably the weekend before I took care of her this past week with having vomiting and diarrhea, and they thought she had food poisoning. It’s highly contagious and there’s nothing you can do about it but let it run it’s course.

It wreaks havoc with my writing though. They’re taking her to daycare today so Grandma can try and get better. But I’ll have her back on Wed and Fri then. I’m just hoping she doesn’t pick up anything more.

In reality, I’ve lost 6 lbs. Now, if only it would stay off!
