Pixie in the Woods (Fantasy Art)

The photo of the mushrooms in the woods is mine. Love mushrooms/toadstools. You never know what you’re going to find on a woodland walk.

So we may have flooding today. Nice temps. My granddaughter and I took our morning walk before the rain hits again. We’ve had rain all morning before that. And I was out weeding while she was playing with a sack in the wind. High winds today. It’s amazing what will entertain a little one. lol

I managed 3,000 words yesterday, got my self-imposed word goal for the novella, still writing to finish it.

Off to weed some more before the rains come down again!

The Tea Party

When little one gets bored, it’s time for a tea party!

I managed 2,000 words after she went home. I had to cut out a 1,000 words because it was for the beginning of the old story and I couldn’t use it so finally cut it out. I never toss stuff like that because I might still use it. I just keep it in the folder with the original story as a cut out because I still like what I wrote, it just doesn’t fit with the new version. I’m up to 20K on the story. About 3K or so left!

A Gold Fish

Not a goldfish, but this truly looks gold, doesn’t it? They were the prettiest fish in the tank at the children’s museum. If the leprechaun was about, he’d want them for his own.

We had a fun corned beef dinner, chilled afterward, and I fertilized the lawn in the dark in the rain. Yay! lol

It’s the only time we’re supposed to have rain and all my neighbors’ yards have greened up, so I figure I needed to fertilize. I’m sure they already have.

I didn’t get word count. I’ve got little one coming to stay this afternoon, so between that and having to get my taxes finalized, I probably won’t get word count today or tomorrow either, but I’m going to try! I want to get bark mulch. I want to get some flowers. But have to work instead.

Have a super fun day filled with beautiful gold fish and other wondrous things.

Lucky You–Happy St. Patrick’s Day

I’m off to work on Wolf Pack and start proofing Wolf on the Wild Side.

We’re having corned beef, cabbage, carrots, and potatoes tonight. We went too late to the museum in Houston. It’s right next to the zoo and just not enough parking. With Spring Break, you either had to go early, which we had planned but didn’t make it, or forget it. Hundreds of cars were looking for parking spaces and since we were there an hour and a half after opening instead of arriving a little earlier before opening, no one was leaving and everything was packed. We took my granddaughter to the much smaller children’s museum nearer us and thankfully it was fairly empty. She had a ball and the day was saved. lol But she was really good-natured about it anyway, so if that had been a wash, we would have just done what we had planned later–pizza, cupcakes, opening presents, and playing with giant bubbles in the backyard!

And somehow after all that I managed to catch up on my word count for the day before and yesterday’s. I’m shooting for 5,000 more words on the book and I should have that by this weekend. My granddaughter is staying with me Friday afternoon through Saturday, our monthly fun weekend and so I won’t get much writing done.

Have a super lucky day and if that means you got out on the right side of the bed this morning, you’ve got the day made.

Azalea in the Garden

These are the everblooming Encore Autumn Fire azalea. What I love about them is they bloom at least three times a year. I have the traditional lavender ones also, but they only bloom once in early spring. I rescued them from a garden center before they were thrown out. They’re so pretty, but I wish they bloomed more often. That’s why I love daylilies. They bloom over and over again, unlike the Asiatic lilies. The Asiatic are so beautiful, but I wish they bloomed for longer.

I pulled up a ton of grass and weeds in one of the flowerbeds, but I swear that the grass and weeds think that means I’m cleaning it out so they can sprout tons more weeds and grass. I’m sure when I go to bed at night, they’ll have returned in the morning in earnest.

I only managed a 1,000 words on Wolf Pack last night. It’s at 15K. I was working on edits on Wolf on the Wild Side. Need to final proof it before I turn it in.

We’re off to the museum this morning and a birthday party, so have a fun day!

In the Snowy North–the Yeti (Fantasy Art)

You might just see a Yeti. At least he’s not allergic to cats.

I’ve been out weeding. We had a LOT of rain, no hail, thankfully, all the tomato plants look great, and so it was a little easier to pull weeds. Not a whole lot. I have a ton. And my flowers are coming up–lilies, daylilies, so I have to be careful not to disturb their roots. And the azaleas are just starting to bloom.

I’m off to work before it gets too much later! Was cleaning out the garage, rehooking up hoses, and killing off weeds in the driveway with boiling water.

Dragons Guarding the Tomato Plants

So I was trying to get the tomato plants used to the filtered sun but the wind wasn’t cooperating. And then my garden dragons jumped right in to save the day! Aren’t they the little dears?

I finally planted all of the tomato plants. All 7 of the 5. Yes. You read that right. My daughter told me she gave me 5 tomato plants and when I had planted 3 of them, I realized I had 4 more. lol Anyway, white, red, pink, yellow, and midget (2), and burgundy. It should be fun! If they all make it. They already had 6 tomatoes on them. And all of them were in bloom. I LOVE tomatoes.

I managed to write another 3,000 on Wolf Pack and am at 12K. Off to write and do some more weeding.

Dragon on the Prowl (Fantasy Art)

The castle is actually a picture that I had taken, along with the castle gardens in another picture and the clouds were another shot. In Scotland, I would often get white sky backgrounds so I needed to add clouds. I also added texture for fun. And the dragon, of course.

Ugh, Daylight Savings Time. I need to remember to reset my car clock.

I soared with the dragons yesterday! I ended up writing 7,000 words on Wolf Pack. It’s a novella, so now I have 9,000 words done. Yay!! I shoot for 23K on a novella, but sometimes they end up around 33K. It just depends on the story, but I’m having a blast writing it. It’s a medieval Highland wolf story, first that I’ve done.

I’ve got to run errands, not wanting to, but we’re celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day and I am out of food again.

There Be Dragons–Fantasy Art

I love dragons! Though if they were real, maybe not so much. I think we might be a midnight snack.

I’m off to do something. Not sure what. I finished the synopsis for Wolf on the Wild Side, still working with the narrator to finish up His Wild Highland Lass, looked over half a dozen books in the making, and need to start the next deadline book–Lachlan MacQuarrie’s story, another Highland Wolf tale.

It’s cold! I brought the tomato plants in last night and it’s supposed to get a little warmer late this afternoon, then freezing again tonight. One of the plants already has a tomato on it!

I’m off to get to work on something. Have a beautiful day and let your imagination soar with the dragons!
