This was my son’s cat. She was a black Persian, beautiful. But oftentimes difficult to photograph because she was so black. Here I caught her pretty well.
I’m up to 27,000 words on Warrior Elf. Yay! Having fun with it. It’s fun for me to switch from a paranormal shifter story in contemporary times, to another world fantasy story where I can do just about anything and make it real. lol
Anyway, I have to see my granddaughter run her fun run for money to buy books for the school’s library this afternoon. Her daddy will meet me over there to watch her. She’s so excited! I heard two kindergartners ahead of me saying, “We have to wear running shoes.” “Yes, running shoes.” They were both wearing tennis shoes, but they didn’t have a clue that those were “running shoes”. lol
Have a wonderful day. Got to get my word count in. Shooting for 2,000 words per day. Managed 3,000 yesterday.
Woohoo, finished Roxie’s story!! I was so excited. I finished proofing it, turned it over to my beta readers and now I’m off to figure out which story to work on next. I have Warrior Elf, 6,000 words. And Bear in Mind–24357 words. So for now, I’m just playing with both stories until I settle on one and finish it. Warrior Elf is the 3rd book in the series. Bear in Mind is the first.
Rina is a warrior elf from a long class of warrior elves. She fights for right and though she earns much gold from her work, she also takes on the cases where there is no hope of reward—just because it’s something she must do. Fighting is in her blood. And she has a couple of magic tricks up her leather sleeve. She is all about work and no play, so when she takes on the mission of rescuing a princess from a tower—if she even really needs rescuing, she ends up meeting a champion shadow elf knight—who also rights wrong. But he works for a marque and she’s not sure they have the princess’s best interests at heart.
Artur serves as the marque’s champion from a long class of champions when he encounters a warrior elf fighting dark arts knights all on her own. He watches in fascination, until he eliminates the last one, and he’s not sure what to think of her. Does she have the princess’s welfare in mind? Or some darker purpose? He admires Rina, but he doesn’t trust her. Yet it appears they have a common enemy and until that’s resolved, he’ll watch her back and hope she watches his!
I’m excited to say I’m on Chapter 20 of 30 chapters of proofing for Roxie’s story. I hope to have it done today. After 2″ of rain yesterday, we had cooler temps today and I’ll walk to the elementary school to have lunch with my granddaughter. When I asked her after school the day before which day she wanted me to come, she said, “Tomorrow!” She didn’t want something to happen so I couldn’t make it over there this week. 🙂
Then I have to pick her up at school 2 1/2 hours later. So I’m hoping I’ll have time to get the rest of the proofing done. Yay!
Okay, so off to work! Have a super fun whimsical day!
I’m up to 101,000 words on Roxie’s story. I’m still finishing it. But with finishing it, that’s the end of the deadline books I have to write so I need to suggest 3 new wolf stories to my editor. One will be about the white wolf pilot and the woman from Yellowknife and I need two other stories. 🙂
Okay, I’m off to work. I need to proof Roxie’s story book next.
I didn’t sleep very well the night before last. When I get close to the end of a book, I’m always thinking and rethinking things, have scene I need to add, so I can’t get my mind to just go to sleep.
I’m like the thinking Gorilla. She’s deep in thought. I took her at the Waco zoo, I think.
Okay, I’m back to the book. Figured out my timeline, that’s always an ordeal. And need to write about 4 more scenes. Off to get a couple of them done today!
I’ve been so busy with Roxie’s story, I haven’t had time to create more Halloween pictures for the month. And then the bewitching month will be gone and what will I be left with? Wolf shifters. Bear shifters. Cougar shifters. The fae. Vampires.
I love it when fans send me stuff like this–because it made them think of me! This gave me a laugh first thing this morning!
So I didn’t blog yesterday because I was up for 4 hours during the night with extreme chills and a fever. I had gotten what the nurse said was a “powerful” flu shot that morning, instead of the regular one. Since my insurance paid for it, I said sure. Because I take care of my grandkids lots, I figured it was worth it. I didn’t think it would overpower me like that. I couldn’t sleep the rest of the night. I spent the rest of yesterday as an achy zombie–wanting nothing more than to sleep, but I had to get too many things done. I planted the rest of my mums before they died, took Max in for his rabies shot, picked up my granddaughter, and edited Roxie’s book through chapter 17 I think, and I had a great sleep. Finally.
So will that flu shot have been worth it? I don’t know. My parents always had gotten theirs and ended up getting the flu one year–which they were told was a different variety. But I’m hopeful that I will be good this year!
Have a super day and remember, if you get bitten by a wolf, be sure you know which kind it is. It could make a real difference in your life. 🙂

I’m originally from the West Coast so I loved setting the red wolf pack in Oregon. I also have a gray wolf pack in California, both places I’ve lived, and one in Washington, where my dad was from. I have no idea why, but I was dreaming last night that I was telling someone that whenever I hear the wind rustling through a pine forest I think of California. I truly felt that way when I lived in Florida and they had pine forests too. It brought back the memories of the scent of pine and the sound of the pine needles dancing in the breeze. I felt both comforted and at a loss. I longed to return to California, but it was never to be. Except in my dreams and in my stories too! And that’s good enough for me.
Hope you all have a lovely day and if you’re up for a Christmas story in October, I have just the one for you!
