Blue Skies After Hurricane Harvey

The devastation and the cleanup will be a nightmare for so many areas of Houston and the surrounding cities. We’re still under 13 flood warnings, but the water is receding from creeks and rivers and roadways.

We are expected to have another bout of rain on Monday and Tuesday, but hopefully with some dry days in between, the water levels will have a chance to go down.

Gloomy skies were returning and we have dark clouds this morning, even though we only have a chance of 20%. After all the rain, they’re not welcome.

Now the cleanup begins. It’s back to the 90s tomorrow and the next few days–I’m afraid mosquitoes will be out in force too.

Hope the areas where the storm has moved off to remain safe.

Sunset by Phone

Wouldn’t you know I’d be at a store when I saw the most beautiful sunset. I had to stop and take a picture of it in the parking lot. My daughter I’m sure thinks I’m crazy as I snapped pictures of the sunset on the drive home through dirty car windows, but it was just too beautiful. She’ll be glad I didn’t include the ones I captured with her nose in them.

In the one shot, I caught the sun setting and a hint of the moon. 🙂 <3

So I received requests for promo blogs and excerpts for Dreaming of the White Wolf, and sent half of them. Still need to write two more, and then on top of that, I received first edits on All’s Fair in Love in War (formerly: The Bounty Hunter Gets Her Wolf, Silver Town Wolves).

I’d caught up on Billionaire Wolf Christmas, so you know where this leaves me, right????

Okay, off to get to work, first on Billionaire. Going to try to get my 2,000 in so I don’t get behind and maybe the last two promo blogs.

The Hurrieder I Go…

…the behinder I get.

Well, not really. My problem is my days are filled with too much stuff. I decided I HAD to remove all the grass and weeds from my flowerbeds before Monday’s garbage. I’ve worked on it several days, and finally finished last night. Well, almost. Mostly. One flowerbed still has some work it needs. There are low-to-the-ground weeds that wouldn’t budge, so I need to either water them or get a small hand rake to dig at them. I dug up all the grass and the tall weeds.

And then I noticed, after I removed so many weeds, weed trees that were sprouting up, grass from the flowerbeds, omigosh, there are really flowers there. 🙂 So naturally, before the light was gone completely, I HAD to take pictures of them.

And I had a luncheon with ladies yesterday, and so that was about 4 hours out of my day. And I took a walk that morning and took pictures.

I took these with my phone, sunrise yesterday morning.

So I’m back to the book. I wrote 2,000 yesterday. So it’s not that I haven’t been writing. I just needed 4,000. lol  Which means, I need 4,000 today. *sigh*

Okay, have a great one!!! I have to write faster. 🙂 …or quit filling my days with everything else too!

Sunrise, Sunset

I was up super early yesterday, well, often am, but when I took the dogs out back, I noticed the sunrise out front, dashed into the house quick as a bunny, grabbed my camera, and ran outside. Beautiful.

That night, I was getting the puppies ready for bed and saw the beautiful sunset. Worthy of a shot. Or two.

I’m behind on my writing…uhm, so what’s new. I think I need to go to a beach resort, rent a cabana, and just write on the deck. Yep. I’m sure the words would just flow from my fingertips. IF, I didn’t have to stop and take pictures of the seabirds, sunsets, sunrises, ocean, sand, crabs, more birds….and all!!!

Newborn shoot, and babysitting my granddaughter yesterday. 🙂 The newborn would not sleep, but she was as cute as could be.

Okay, off to write!!! No beach. *sigh*

Stormy Sunset

We had stormy skies on and off all day, but it didn’t storm. We’re supposed to have more tomorrow, but it’s been going that way, huge thunderheads, no storms, 80-90% of rain, no rain. So we shall see. 🙂

Pink, Purple and a Hint of Blue Skies

The skies have really been spectacular lately–beautiful storm clouds, yet, they’re not really producing storms, just an art pallet of color.

Uh, huh. It’s thundering out now. I was out taking pictures of the thunderheads, all blue and white, this morning.

But now it’s back to the book. Waiting on Cougar Undercover notes from one beta reader, and I’ll finish that up. Sent in Night of the Wolf and Flight of the White Wolf.  Still working on Falcon Fae. Okay, so here’s the thing. I’m trying to figure out the end of Falcon Fae and the beginning  of Billionaire Wolf Christmas. 🙂 I keep getting scenes for Falcon Fae, so I’m hoping I can finish that up soon. And I still have 2 blogs to write for SEAL Wolf Undercover’s release in August.

Wolves and Jaguars in one. What could be better?

Oh, I had to do some research on closing a bank account, and I checked online, but I couldn’t find what I was looking for,  so I called my bank.

“What is this for?” he kept asking me.

I told him I could acknowledge him in the book.

“No, thanks, that’s all right. What is your name again?”

I’m sure he had fun telling about that crazy woman who called him about closing a bank account. Forms of ID, how much could you take out? Yes, really, it’s in the story.  Heart of the Wolf’s re-release in January. Night of the Wolf, the new novella in the story.

It’s fiction. She’s a wolf shifter. It’s fantasy. *sigh* No one believes they really exist. But we know better, don’t we!

Anvil Cloud…No Rain, But Beautiful, Beautiful Clouds Anyway!

This is an untouched photo. Isn’t it beautiful? The clouds were turning pink with the sunset. Then anvil clouds were white above, and the sky a pretty pastel blue. In the center of the cloud, lightning was flashing, but I didn’t catch it. 🙂

And I captured a picture of a green dragonfly! I couldn’t believe it. He was so far away and as I moved closer, he flew away, so I figured he was going to be just a blur. I was thrilled to see he wasn’t! 🙂

green dragonflyOkay, I was bad in that I didn’t get my word count yesterday. I was busy redoing some covers.  And sometimes I get stuck. Or I would have finished for certain!

It’s Coming to Me!!!

In bits and pieces–Vexing the Highlander–so I have to write really quickly or it will fade from my brain.

sunset and red-bellied woodpeckers 018 (800x533)So here is the coolest sunset ever! Overhead out front it was the prettiest purple and pink, but in the window it was oranges and yellows. Now…if I had been an artist, I would say that wasn’t correct. It clashed. It wasn’t real looking. But there you have it. Reality can be unreal, and fantasy totally real. And mostly from the backyard, the shifting colors. At first, it was a dreamy white. And I thought it was so pretty, I took a picture. The crepe myrtles and their leaf structure are pretty against the fading sky. Then the colors kept morphing, the clouds kept moving. I love how the sunset lights up the puffs of clouds. And then darker, until all that is left is a pink glow before the sunsets for another day.

Garbage is out! Missed it last Thursday. We only had it once a week back home, but it’s so easy to get used to having it 2 times a week now that if I miss it, I must remind myself of that.

Back to the book, the scenes are competing with each other for book space. And then? It’s off to White Wolf Christmas.

Sunset in Texas

It’s been so hot and humid, but yesterday we had two storms they didn’t predict and two days earlier, another storm. That helped to bring our temperature down for the day. So it was a really nice relief, and I didn’t have to water.

sunset home (1280x853) sunset last night (1280x853)We had the most beautiful sunset the other night though. When I saw it, I was just putting the puppies to bed and I was afraid I’d miss the sunset. You know, it doesn’t take long for the sunset to fade and then disappear.

But it was so beautiful.

Off to work on SEAL and brave the heat. 🙂
