******************************

The problem with working on books and then turning them in, is they come back for edits. Then second round of edits. Then final edits. Then proofing edits.

The good thing is that I’ve written 4 more books while that happens, so every time a book comes back for edits, I’m all right with it because it’s been a while since I read it last!

The bad thing is that I’m working on a current book and hate to leave that story behind because each story I’m working on, either new, or the edited finished book, I really get into. Then it’s hard for me to get back to the book I’m working on.

The good thing is that the edited book A Hero of a Highland Wolf, will be out in August, so that’s a time to celebrate. And the other good news is that while I’m working on the current book, I will be reminded that, hey, I finished a book before, I can do it again.

039bc-herohighlandwolf-30028487x80029

The bad news is that it makes me behind on my word count for the new book.

Soooo, I wrote 5,000 on Monday to make up for it, and have to write another 5,000 to make my word count for the week. And have 25,000 words left to go.  This is where I’m coming down to the wire. I’ve got to ensure I’ve wrapped up all the loose ends, I have to make sure that everything in the story is important to the story. I have to figure out who the bad guy is. 🙂

Sometimes, I know from the start. Sometimes, I like the bad guy too much and can’t make him the bad guy. LOL

So there you have it. Not even I know how this will end.

I’m off though, to get more of something done.

Have a delightful Tuesday!

The World of Fae Series by Terry Spear

Blue Light is Healthier

When I’m researching, I find all kinds of weird things.

Did you know that if you are a morning person and get up early and go outside into the “blue sunlight”, so called for the clearer blue of morning, even if it’s cloudy, it’s good for: staving off depression, makes you feel better, that those who are early morning blue light risers are often thinner?

jet trail (640x427)

This was taken in the morning at the Arboretum as I was trying to capture the picture of the jet trail across the sky.

Well, you know how it is with research. Who knows if it really is true.

But supposedly, orange light is the late afternoon light, more intense until the sun begins to set. And it’s not as good to aid against depression, etc, etc, etc.

Sunset boost (500x333)

So I went out in my blue light this morning and fed the birds. I usually wait until it’s a little later because I’m waiting for it to warm up, even though I get up early.  I don’t have issues with depression, so maybe it’s because I let in the blue light in the morning? I didn’t feel any thinner going out in the blue light to feed the birds though. I did see some flowers and I wanted to take a picture. A bunny bounded out of the shrubs. I went back in and got my camera and saw a second bunny sitting under the flowery shrubs I was going to photograph.

I think they are breeding like rabbits! Bunny and flowers (576x640)

But as to the blue light/orange light study? it’s food for thought!

Are you a blue light person or an orange light person?

Is this all silly or what?

Hey, I didn’t do the research! 🙂

Book Sets and Such!

Silence of the Wolf–5 Stars!! Bitten by Books: “The mystery of Elizabeth’s parents’ death is woven throughout the story, and I love a good mystery. Though Elizabeth is a woman alone, she has a deep desire to be part of a pack, but is afraid when Tom first makes the offer. Tom is a strong and capable leader, a definite alpha, and is certain that he wants Elizabeth to be his mate. When Elizabeth’s room is broken into and her belongings stolen, Tom is there to protect her.

I liked seeing Elizabeth’s courage in the face of a kidnapping and her determination to discover who was responsible for the murder of her parents. Silence of the Wolf is a story that easily captured my interest, and I am curious to see what happens next for the Silver Town residents.” Mary http://bittenbybooks.com/silence-of-the-wolf-by-terry-spear/

And yes, there’s more: A Silver Wolf Christmas, Oct 2015.

I am behind!!! On my writing on A SEAL Wolf for Sale. We had storms yesterday and I had to get off my computer.

Sudden Storms Texas (640x427)

And I have some things coming up: A book set with a bunch of authors who have won all kinds of awards, three of which are USA Today Bestselling authors, including me! More adult paranormal and fantasy books. And another book set with strictly YA faery stories. I think both of them will be a lot of fun. We’re working on the details for both right now, and I have two conferences coming up that we’re working together to come up with some things.

I love authors! In most businesses, we would be considered competition. But with authors, we unite to work together to help each other out and that’s really a wonderful concept. I’ve been asked a million times to join in book sets with other authors, and I’ve said no because I’m swamped with other stuff going on all the time. But I finally said yes to these two projects–one because I’m fascinated with these award-winning authors, and the other, because it’s all the world of fae, and I think it’s really important to have a themed box set to help promote the same.

So in the coming weeks when I have sales links, I’ll share them here. 🙂

I just also sent the narrator the following two books to narrate:

Mage of Monrovia

She wanted to be a school trained mage…but everything stands in her way.

The Magic of Inherian: The Mage of Monrovia, Book 2

An apprentice of the mage they had destroyed earlier, now threatens Inherian once again. But when Mexia arrives at Langdon to become school trained, she learns the school will not permit a woman to attend. But she must destroy the mage’s apprentice, and she cannot do so without the training. She must use the magic she has learned to discover a way to defeat the apprentice before it is too late.

Mexia has already done much more than most school- trained mages when she and her companions had gone in search of the scepter of salvation. But now one of the apprentices of the evil wizard they had destroyed, has stolen his spell book and plans to take up where he had left off, and she has to try and stop him.

Mexia believes the only way for her to defeat the mage is to become school trained like he was with the eventual goal of becoming a high wizard–the first of her kind in Inherian. But the current headmaster denies her entrance because she’s a woman. Though if she can get the former headmaster’s recommendation, she may attend.

And that’s the beginning of the trouble.

First, there’s the wizard.
Then, the immovable headmaster.
And then, the circle of misfortunes.
It all goes downhill from there…

I still need to write the third book!

But in the meantime, I’m off to work on A SEAL Wolf for Sale.

Hope you have a grand Monday! It’s cloudy with a chance of storms? Not sure. I probably should look and see. Or better yet, I should just write!

Storm Clouds–the Real & the Fantasized

storm with a hole in the cloudshole in clouds fantasy

I thought this hole in the clouds was fascinating, so I quickly took shots of it and then even had more fun with it.

That’s what I do with my writing. I create  fantasy from reality. A werewolf world or jaguar shifters in our world. The myth mixed with the truth.

Like these clouds. The reality is the basis, the fantasy, the added fun.

And an update, The Highlander just released!

Available now, and the print version will be ready in about a week. Looking for a narrator for the audiobook version. Barnes and Noble is still in process. *sigh*
